In the past I have seen good value in teams to beat us. Wigan last year for example. I think they were getting on to 6/1 to beat us at their place. They hadn't won in 9. They beat us 1-0. My head told me to put some money on it; my heart wouldn't let me

When you are looking at Rovers you'll find value because you know everything about them. I just can't bet on them though. Either to win or to lose. The only bet I have is a cheeky £10 on us to win the league every year. I know it's pissed up the wall, but one day that bet will come off and that money will be the sweetest cash you will ever earn

I know what you mean. That said, my lad stuck £10 on Sunderland to win 'in play' at half time at 16/1. I think we all know that if they had scored in the first minute of the second half rather than us, it could well have gone horribly wrong. He was happy enough to spunk his tenner up the wall tbf.

  2. On the Gallagher debate, it is interesting to read what the Sunderland supporters thought of his performance yesterday. They clearly saw him as a good championship front man with an ability to do a bit of shithousery as well. I have my doubts about him, and always have had to be honest, but there is no doubt that we do seem to be a better team when he is playing.

It was a strange programme. At one point he had a “ mod-ish “ haircut and at another point he had flowing locks a la Tim Sherwood.

I used to get my suits made by “ Mr Senior “ in Rochdale. A great tailor. When the postcard dropped through the letter box telling me to go for another fitting  my mum would go mad - “ not another bloody suit, I don’t know where you get your money from ! “ I always had two pairs of trousers made with the jackets, the lightweight cloth wore out between the legs easily. I’m not bragging.

    Big thighs mate? 😬😉😂

Bald and proud, over here too! 🤝.

All joking aside I remember a few years back Paul Weller (while he was still a heavy drinker)making some snidey comment about it being impossible to be a bald mod. I thought to myself "Have you taken a look at your audience lately you silly cunt. Don't bite the hand that feeds".

Thankfully he's a much nicer man now he's sober.

  5. This was the photo I was thinking of. He did all the mod designer gear a few years back and without having watched the programme that Tyrone referred to, I hope he explained that 'being a mod' is about more than just clothes and music. And @K-Hod I've been a bald mod for 40 years matey :)

Not a gig as such but Bradley Wiggins has a programme about Mod culture on Sky Arts tonight at 10-30.

It was quite interesting examination of what it meant/means to be a Mod.He finished with a short interview with Paul Weller that got a bit sticky at times.

The last time I saw Bradley Wiggins he was the very antithesis of what a Mod ought to look like.
