I watched the Coventry v Southampton match last night. Saints had a lot of the ball and Coventry looked to counter down the wing. I think our real lack of pace in the squad will mean we’ll struggle to counter them on Saturday. I would possibly replace A.Wharton with Travis to help with the defensive work. Saints had 72% of the possession last night, so this might be a shift too far for the lads, who looked knackered on Tuesday.

Watched the replay of last nights game on RoversTV. Commentator said that he’s been offered a deal/scholarship but has yet to sign it. Hopefully he signs the deal and looks at the like of the Whartons, Travis, JRC, Carter, Garrett and Leonard in the starting eleven and see there is a pathway to the first team.

Thank god, looks to be a similar move to Sigurdsson at Ipswich away.

Makes sense to award him with a new deal, with him being regular starter this season. Only an additional year on his old deal, but means the club are protected if a Premier League club comes knocking.

There’s a lot of uproar from Wigan fans tonight on Twitter. They’ve decided to give Manchester United fans the East Stand, which is their home end, rather than the typical away end. Imagine the uproar if Waggott gave away fans the full Blackburn End. To be honest, I wouldn’t put it past him.

I think the club will release him in the summer and get his wages off the books. People are wondering if we can get a fee for Gallagher? He’s scored 34 times in 167 appearances in four years. He’s always injured and hasn’t hit double figures in goals since signing permanently in 19/20. Who’s realistically going to pay a fee for him?

The squad is so naive it’s painful. Every time we play a direct team, we’re so easy to play against. We can’t expect every team to let us knock the ball round and play nice. Sheffield Wednesday players were knocking them around and we did nothing about it.

I remember the first few games and wondering why we’d signed him. Stoke at home springs to mind. Looked useless and was subbed off after 20 minutes, due to an injury. He’s kicked on since then and is definitely the first name on the team sheet. Works his nuts off and can’t stop scoring at the moment. Congrats to Sammie and the recruitment team, what a great signing 👏🏻
