Anyone who thinks that a player from any club getting a career threatening injury is funny must be one very sad individual.

Agree - difficult to see how he can come back from this or at least have a good career. The lad must be so gutted, he had a fantastic future in my opinion and was easily Championship level.

There is banter and then there is full-on idiocy. No football player from any club (even our rivals) should be laughed at when they have potentially seen their career in tatters due to injury.

Got beat on pens after a 0/0 and players described as having a largely shocking attitude on the night according to one or two who went.

Mostly fringe players being asked to play for the youths - doesnt bode well if their attitude stinks. Suck it up and put yourself back into the managers plans.

Whittingham is a prime example - marquee signing from the Championship who is now playing for the reserves in L1. Samuel too hasnt taken well to being bought and dropped

He never questioned Danny Grahams attitude or performances but you were highly critical of him saying pretty much the same things people are saying about Samuel. Mowbray very rarely criticises players publicly and that's how it should be.

    Now you're snookered Chaddy.

We’ve been spoilt rotten over the years talent but Tugay was quite something else. I think Charlie might be one of those who just keeps going the same way, and he’s only 31... Tugay only signed for us at 31, didn’t he?

Still my favourite player of all time - and thats ahead of any of our title winning team.

    Great post Kamy.

Ive read and seen in German football that chaos its caused.

VAR cannot be used for judgement calls like whether players were tripped in the box. I still think Ali were tripped yesterday. Other will disagree.

The Offside decision that ruled out Mata's goal were straight has he was in line but it was given cos his hand/arm were offside. Crazy.

Offside decisions need to very clear and fans need to hear the conversation between the officials.

Still not in favour of VAR in Football.

That really is crazy - shouldnt it be the feet that determine whether someone is offside? That's how I have always judged it anyway.

If Mowbray gets us up, he obviously deserves a crack at the Championship. However, at some point in the future I would love to see Johnson and Dunn as manager and assistant with ToMo in a director of football role.

Far too sensible for that lot.

Would be ideal though...TM can spot a player I give him that and this is one side we are not sure too much about with Johnno and Dunn - let them get on with the pitch side of things with TM guiding them.

Joe needs to show more speed and I don't think his body can deliver this. Time will tell hope he comes through and is a far better player than he's currently then we would have a cracking player.

Yeah heard that it is more his physical attributes rather than his technical ability that is holding him back at the moment. Seems quite lightweight and not particularly fast - as you say, if he can address those we would certainly have an excellent prospect.

But he plays in an area where we have Dack who is undroppable.

I understand that you want youngsters in the team, but we are going for promotion, if we put in too many youngsters it would come at the cost of consistency and know how, youngsters are inconsistent, its hardly as if we are neglecting the academy/youth team, our strongest 11 would contain 3 (Lenihan, Nyambe and Raya) and Travis and Tomlinson make up the numbers when needed, but if you start putting in a few at once (youve mentioned Rankin Costello, and seem to be insistent on Doyle, it will be at the cost of consistency.

Isnt Costello a more attacking player in a different position to the other 2?

Think Costello can play anywhere in an attacking sense. Up front, behind or on the wing.

Problem is most diving incidents have varying opinion.

Everyone agrees that Dioulf dived at Ewood when playing for Bolton.

However people have alternate views on the Morata / William incident's last week.

Big punishments can only be applied if it's absolutely clear..

Thats pretty much what I meant in a round about way - its far too contentious and there are different opinions. In some cases you would not be able to say for sure if it was an intentional dive or not - yes some are obvious but even then there might be a small chance it was not a dive.

Start throwing around huge fines like that would end up with players in the courts I would expect.

Stick to non-monetary punishments that will hurt the team such as instant 3-match bans and the likes of Morata would not be doing it anymore .
