I was looking at it from the point that he’s not been in club management for a fair while and his first job back is a complete basket case of a club.

He might turn it round but he’s hardly giving himself a stable environment to get back into it.

Not sure he had many other options - it was stay on with wales for another couple of seasons at least or make a move now to get back into club football. Could have possibly waited a few more months and some sackings would probably have occurred in the Championship. Wales would have been pushing for him to sign up now though.

  2. Much better fight than I expected despite AJ not really looking at his destructive best in my opinion. Big respect to Takam who did not deserve to have the fight stopped in my opinion. He battled well and while he never looked like he would win, gave AJ a few problems here and there. I heard he was ranked number 3 in the world by one of the bodies, which if true, means AJ should be dominating the HW division for many years to come.

    Bring on WIlder.

Wow, they rate him less than we do by the looks.

    He is awful though.

Edit: G Force sums it up nicely on those Sunderland boards:

    "He's f***ing S***e"

    I particularly liked this one

"He's @#/?ing terrible. Great signing from Grayson. Shay Given on a free would have been better than him and Given is about 45."

  4. Bigs them up then gets his excuses ready and they ARE excuses. Players still gelling, not the right mentality, he always puts it all on the players without ever accepting any responsibility himself. Wigan brought in more players than we did and they did not have any trouble bedding in - in fact the sort of turnover we saw is pretty normal for any League 1 club. Who really is a new signing that has not done well? Downing, Smallwood, Chapman and Dack have been our better players so far this season while Whittingham has looked better of late. The rest of our starting eleven against Portsmouth were already here last season.

Pick the same team as last weekend - just do that TM and most on here will be happy that we had a go even if we lose a thriller.

Sociable Soccer early access now out, initial thoughts

Plays pretty smooth , still a few bugs to iron out though too many to list (can foul loads and rarely get a card , not seen any injuries yet) Rovers are still in the Championship (or England B as it is called)

One thing that does stand out is either the players are too big or the pitch is too small

Computer AI is pretty poor at the moment as are keepers , stuck 4 past the Dingles in my first game so not all bad :)

Controller works well with the game (used a xbox 360 controller)

Can be played in the traditional sensi soccer overhead view or 3d (view), which is not as bad as I expected

Looking like lots of updates in the future

Not found a way to turn off shadows and  all the  graphic "enhancements" which are annoying especially the stuff around the flight of the ball. (edit - options now available)

Still lots of things that need to be implemented like online multiplayer etc

    $19.99 (USD) at the moment

Edit : Link and plenty of reviews http://store.steampowered.com/app/636690/Sociable_Soccer/

In boss mode looks like they have been looking at Rovers appointments for the first three Levels Rookie - Dodgy - Short straw :)  , should suggest to them an agent career mode first levels - Holdiay in Brunei -shadow club owners- FA in my pocket options

Thanks for that - been holding out for some reviews before diving in. Might give it a little bit more time before buying it - though im sure temptation will get me within a couple of weeks anyway.

  6. It comes down to personal preference and opinions of course and I have nothing against anyone with tattoos. That said, I do find them unattractive when done far too much. A small tattoo here or there looks good but when a girl is walking down the street and the whole of one of her legs is covered - definitely a turn-off for me.

  7. Im a relatively 'new' poster but have been reading the site and the forums for many, many years now and it has always been my go-to to gauge fellow fans opinions. Can only say thank you to anyone that has contributed to the site over the years, especially you Glenn and Ste B.

Good luck to the new team!

  8. Watched IT last night after avoiding it like the plaque at the cinemas due to always being disappointed by remakes. Well I bit the bullet and watched it and was actually very pleasantly surprised. From the moment he bit off the little boys arm at the start - i knew this was heading in a more sinister direction. Really enjoyed it and liked how they are obviously making it a two parter rather than all in one like the original.
