That’s the way I see it, but in order to hold this opinion you have to accept that - A ) TM was right B ) TM has improved the player that’s along with signing him in the first place! Don't think we’ll see a concession along these lines from some. Trav could go on to win a ballon d’or playing for us but TM would be getting pelter’s for not having him in the team as an under-9.
-
Still a hell of an improvement for me - and where you see (valid) concerns, there are imo equal reasons for optimism. Surely you want us to beat Bolton though? Same team would be fine by me
-
Trav keeps getting better and better too. Hard to credit Dunny with that since he’s been off selling sheds or whatever for a year. Player good or improved - in spite of TM Player bad - damn you TM!
-
Strange how some see us papering over the cracks, whilst others criticise TM because we should have been nearer the playoffs.
-
I probably shouldn’t drive for a few hours tbh

I think the fact that we could be on for a top half finish with an exciting young squad coming through after the past few years of shite kind of makes the point moot. I’ll know when I see the yardstick - it would usually start with us going stopping moving forwards.
-
He’s improved in areas he can. Of course everyone fears a replacement - why give them the chance to spin the wheel again when things are relatively on the up? It’s a sad fact of life that we’d probably end up with Big Eck. But some of us think he is doing an overall good job and better managers don’t grow on trees Seems a bit odd to say Mowbray hasn’t improved the club because we don’t want him replaced...??

Swings and roundabouts. Wasnt that convenient for Norwich when Dingle Fletcher scored with his hand, from an offside position - after fouling the goalkeeper!
-
About realistic value for me rather than the actual numbers being reduced (although I expect they have) Probably get three Smallwoods, two Lewis Travis and a couple of Joe Rothwells for one Lowe, Akpan and Feeney.

I think it’s in the nature of social media rather than real life where debates and opinions become so polarised. I find the whole thing fascinating. Logging on here and seeing opinions you disagree with, leads you to passionately verbalise your own and dissect the counter argument. Without having to be polite and with relative anonymity. But no one ever really changes their mind through persuasion or debate - we just try and explain further our side and become dumbfounded when the other party doesn’t agree - you’ve explained it as simply as possible are they stupid?!!! Rinse and repeat this process for months and years and both sides of a debate have been banging their well considered drums for so long that it becomes “us vs them”, black and white and quite vitriolic and illogical. Even leading to things like hypothesising an imaginary conversation between a midfielder and the manager to project the failings you’ve perceived, or me trying to use every time Ben Brereton doesn’t fall over as proof that he’s the white Pele. The truth or heart of the matter is usually somewhere in the middle! But Smallwood would have scored that @BankEnd Rover ARE YOU BLUMMIN DAFT???
-
Eh??? You are literally making up dialogue to slag off Mowbray. Good grief. This is nearly as bad as when TM ruined Bobby Moore’s career and cost us the World Cup... Counterpoint hypothetical conversation: TM: Trav, that was fantastic, well done. LT: Cheers boss TM: For that I’m taking you to Disneyland and getting them to build a statue at Ewood of you LT: Wow nice one! TM: That’s right. Also, did I ever tell you about how I invented the bread slicing machine? LT: My god I love you so much will you adopt me? Fun this.

Competition Rovers Player of the Year

I really wouldn’t. Think of him more as an out and out striker and the goal return is still fantastic - just gone 25, his first year in the Champ... add to that the assists and general play that keeps us ticking over and our opponents occupied... We’ll miss Dack more than we could yet imagine, and I fear we may find out. -

Hard to argue against that, both DG and Trav in particular deserve plaudits, yet we’ve been spoilt by Dack not being quite as consistenly genius this year... but his stats are still amazing for his first year at this level. Luckily we have the young player award too so both could get the recognition they deserve. -
Stop trying so hard to be humourless - doesn’t suit you! Anyway, we won - get over it! ?
-
Maybe don’t butt into other people’s conversations just to ctrl-v “I don’t like Mowbray”?? No. I am saying I don’t think we “should” be in the playoffs as Pedro does - but the very fact that it is under discussion shows how far Mowbray has brought us.
-
Certainly a combination of factors... no one can ignore the crapness of the crap run. But deep down I didn’t really think we were ever in with a proper shout (considering the competition) and the “achievement” of getting us to the point where we started getting carried away with ourselves seems to have been forgotten or completely taken for granted. Really want us to end positively and unbeaten from here on in now - top half would be cracking and give us a platform.
-
So ZERO credit for getting us into that position? Just Ctrl-V “I don’t like Tony Mowbray no ifs no buts” every time and save your keyboard. Mental gymnastics is a dangerous sport Stuart, probably best to turn in the leotard until we lose a game (which you don’t care about anymore unless it’s Charlton)

Taking us from the dropping shit stone we were under Coyle and developing us as a squad and side that “should be in the playoffs”? Surely you follow me?
-
As do the fans of every club between us and sixth place. And if it is true that we should be - then what an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE achievement by the manager.
-
Short term contract I believe, might not even be there. If he is I’d probably back him to get them up.
