  1. I reckon with the amount of turgid, nothing possession that we had second half that Dacky would’ve been the difference, as he often has been. To talk about shipping our best player out the door for reasons unknown is absolute lunacy.
  2. If. Big if. If... ...Mowbray isn’t the man... Then it has to be Johnson for me. I feel he could continue the good elements of what Tony has done, and he won’t be long off eyeing a top job somewhere in the pyramid. Latterly Hughes (who I feel is yesterday’s man), and certainly Karanka - are now chequebook managers. Jokanovic is a pipe dream, as is Wagner. We have a good crop of exciting young players, and have invested in younger players around the 18-24 year old range, and it needs to be someone who understands what the club is all about, that understands that responsibility, why we keep throwing millions into our academy, and is not in it just for personal gain. Get rid of Mowbray, get it wrong, and it could go tits up again BIG style. You know what they are like. They struck gold with Mowbray, mainly as a man, and in the fact he understood how much of a fuck up of a club we were in every department, and how disillusioned we were as fans - and that we were unsalvageably destined for league one, bankruptcy, or worse. There is a good foundation there now. But I’m very worried after today. It was utter dogshit. And I haven’t really trusted anyone else with the keys to the managers office since Sam.
  3. That was utter shit. You can now properly file me under “concerned” lads.
  4. She could have give him a stiletto to the bollocks for all we know at this stage, can’t run that off easily.
  5. We beat them at theirs playing Evans and Smallwood...
  6. Well, I can’t accuse you of being fickle at least. I’ll be happy with a good performance and result without throwing a tantrum because I’m not listened to whilst playing armchair manager.
  7. I’m sure you told me that Evans was one of our best players this year?
  8. Anyone willing to wait and see what happens/how we play? Just me? Anyway those of you of that opinion will at least be a lot richer at the end of the game - such a certain loss must be worth lumping on?
  9. Rothwell number 10? Seems like Dackys head not right?
  10. Apologies, I thought you were referring to career trajectories... Dont think we need to go over again all of the points you mention! I’ll learn to do that readin comprehension innit.
  11. Is it? This photo was taken 8 weeks ago today. (We’ve had a two week international break too) I reckon Mogga wouldn’t be without his suitors. Unlike anyone we are likely to get in as a replacement. Although if he got the boot now I’d excuse him for becoming so jaded with the game that he’d never want to manage again.
  12. Also, seems that Jason WIlcox is a preferred choice over Mourinho! Although Wilcox does occupy the "realism" trifecta of himself, Johnson & McClaren so there is that.
  13. Yeah I would. If we did - I don't know how many on here would be prepared to give TM some slack if we look disorganised or as though we are still working it out... Don't expect it to solve anything defensively without a better centre half partner for Lenihan, either. Might be damned if we do, damned if we don't. But it would be exciting enough for me.
  14. Not without signings, no. Lately we could've played 10 at the back and not got a clean sheet.
  15. Disagree here. It's just an evolution of our current formation but playing one DM and aiming to attack/keep the ball in the opposition half as the main form of defence. Dack and Rothwell are ideal for the two attacking central players. Both can keep the ball well and knock it about, Dack makes the runs into the box and Rothwell has the legs to get up and down without asking him to defend with the positional nous required out wide. Wide forwards cut inside and should roam a bit just like in a 4-2-3-1 - players like Thomas Muller and Alexis Sanchez (don't bring up our relative ability please!) have played well in this formation and they really aren't "proper wingers". A lot still rests on the full-backs getting up and down and on the lone DM being able to be very disciplined sitting and have the ability to move the ball well in the right direction - I think Travis could do it well with discipline, a Reed would be ideal, and some would argue it's potentially somewhere for Mulgrew but I don't think he has the legs left. I'm intrigued by it anyway, it's not a massive revolution to what we are already doing - just a bit braver with the personnel.
  16. I read that. That doesn’t say “we 100% could’ve got him to sign for us over Villa” to me. I’d like to see him elaborate as to the situation but for now that’s ifs and buts. There’s enough to gripe about without resorting to using our imaginations.
  17. I’ll only know when I get there I suppose. But it’s when I feel it’s sensible to throw the last couple of years away into the Venky’s tombola hat.
  18. Obviously the concerns are there for all to see and done to death. But sacking TM now would be lunacy. 100% stay. For now.
  19. Is that a fact then? We could’ve signed McGinn over Aston bleeding Villa if we just really wanted to? And it’s just because Mowbray didn’t want to upset anyone? If you say so guys.
  20. Good post. I think we can all agree that Joe needs more time "on the grass". But for me, with our defensive frailties, it is still a massive gamble right now as to whether he can create more points than he may cost us, especially in the position we use him. Joe's the ace in the hole though if we lose Bradley Dack. Secretly I think he could turn out to be at least as good a No. 10. as Dacky. His lack of shagging models/knee bending BBQs/fatness etc does concern me from a cult hero standpoint mind. That shit matters. But there's a dilemma here about whether Mowbray is to try everything to get a result in every single game until the end of the season and finish nearer the top of mid-table - steadiness, pragmatism/trusting old heads/players that have a record of contributing will all come into that... Or if we just blood the raw lads and potentially finish 18th. Whether flipping the approach is more likely to lead to the opposite outcome, who bloody knows, but current league position does seem to be the barometer for some that have forgotten how well we've actually been doing this season. You'd be hard pressed to criticise the manager for living within himself a little for a better showing in the league position history books. Damned if you do and damned if you don't, inneee. I think we all want to aim for somewhere in the middle though - but I won't shit myself if Rothwell doesn't start games against sides that are going to dominate the ball. BUT I'll begin to become sceptical if it isn't obvious that is he is starting to become more central to our plans going forwards if the squad is to remain the same after summer. Would take a hell of a finished product to replace him. Time will tell. Shit recruitment though Mowbray, hasn't he?
  21. n between us and the play offs are the following teams - Bristol City - Doing well, steady. Middlesbrough - Parachute Payments = massive wages and quality squad Nottingham Forest - £23m net spend this season alone. Preston North End - Doing well. Well done them. Sheffield Wednesday - Spent about £40m and stupid wages in the past couple of years Hull City - Parachute payments = massive wages Brentford - Solid. Well run. Something to aspire to. 3 points in front of us. Stoke City - Premier League squad/wages and parachutes from last season. Swansea City - ditto We’ve just been promoted. Get a fucking grip lads. Luckily we went on fantastic winning streaks this year under the Ghost of Jokanovic.
  22. Time will tell. But I’m not up for turning the card table over just in case the next hand has an (overhyped) Jokanovic.
  23. I think we’ve shown more positive signs in an attacking sense, moving the ball etc than we have since we were relegated. The Bowyer years are overrated on here. We were nowhere near.
  24. It’s a lack of perspective for me. I’ll be honest, I’m only a few more concerning losses away from joining you in that camp. But as if the man doesn’t deserve the summer plus - Christ.
