We should keep Lenihan, but we need someone else like him (but more experienced) for backup - he's becoming a leader and is rough and tough and the mistakes will get ironed out... I wince when he comes for headers he shouldn't. Next to one of the two ruffians should be Mulgrew or an improvement on him. It's sad but Charlie is winding down and physically ailing. But we need someone to get a foot on the ball and be composed. Rodwell is not that man unless he goes on a crash course in how to actually be a CB for me. HOWEVER - I think in a 3 at the back, those 3 would be a decent mix, Lenihan in the centre. Some competition HAS to be brought in though, Williams disposed of and bring Wharton/Magloire through. Many ways to look at it. If we drop one of them and lose to Bristol City, the criticism remains. Out of the two games I would have targeted Reading as “easier” for Armstrong/Brereton to make the difference. TBH I’m starting to think that D&G are only particularly effective as a pair rather than individually anyway.

For what it’s worth, Mowbray said in his post match interview that Dack’s knock is still troubling him, he only trained one day this week and almost didn’t make the bench whilst Graham is feeling the games a bit and looking fatigued. (or words to that effect)

I keep reading this from people that after two losses say the season is over. So if we’d spunked a load on Assombalonga or something, upset the wage structure, but happened to lose two games... ...what an amazing business decision that would have been.
