How many points did we take off Warnock's Boro team?

You said that Warnock would get top 6 last season and he got nowhere close.

Big predictions so early into this summer transfer window.

You obviously forgot how we stole a victory off boro due to terrible refereeing. Also I'm pretty sure you said we would finish above boro at some point last season during a debate about Warnock's quality. How did that prediction pan out?

Entirely possible. Similar happened with Kean.

Steve on November 22nd: “Yes, there have been discussions about a new contract, but I have told the owners that this is an inappropriate time to conclude any new contract discussions. Instead, the real issue is for me and everyone else to concentrate on the games.”

Reading those quotes, was there not a TV interview also with a reference about not having a dog despite dog food being in the background in his kitchen or did I just have a random dream 🤔

  3. I said that if he is still in charge a week after the season ends we are stuck with him. That time has now arrived and he is still here. In addition there have been numerous articles in the local press which suggest, without doubt, he will be here next season. @Paul Mani@oldjamfan1 how is it looking. Not having a go, just seeking comfort that maybe all hope is not lost and things may still be happening.

Given TM comments today in the LET on the new recruitment chief, and his part in the interview process. I think I’m finally ready to accept he’s staying, not just ticking over and leaving via mutual consent. I think potentially he was going and he’s blagged his way into staying

I don't even know what to say. I don't even want to entertain the idea that that tosser will be in charge next season. But this inevitably confirms that he will be. What's the betting the new recruitment guy has boro/cov links.

Haven't bought it or looked at it in years.

I only read it online when it's not behind a pay wall. Refuse point blank to spend any money on it, no matter how little. Until they start questioning the manager instead of sucking up to him, that's how it will remain. I do however think Sharpes hands are tied and it's his bosses to blame. His job would probably be on the line if he went rogue.

Callum Davidson is certainly doing himself no harm at all.  Maybe we should look at him. Good experience as a number 2 for a long time and now seems to have taken that into being in charge.

Worth being in the mix surely.

A decent outside bet. I stuck a tenner at 25/1 on him getting Preston job though😂

  7. Is he staying? Is he going? Media suggest he will stay, some on here convinced he will be gone at season end. I was one of those but now I'm not so sure. If he isn't gone within the first week after the last game I'm resigning myself to another shit show and relegation next season. I think I should probably take a sabbatical from here as just seeing his name is winding me up at the moment.

Listened to his interview today. He spoke in the third person all the way through and I never heard him use words like “my job is to...” etc...he spoke about everything ‘the club’ needs to do because they’ve spent the last few weeks and days handing over and dealing with pressing issues.

When has he EVER known the budget at this stage? It’s happening...

Is there a link to this interview. I appeared to have missed it. 👍

    Some ambition would be nice.

Just something people can believe in.

Not sure replacing Mowbray with Wycombe's manager shows that, but I suspect they'll make such a mess of this from here that he'll end up looking like a great appointment compared to the more likely alternative of keeping Mowbray.

I agree wouldn't be my choice but he also might be better than whatever they have on their list. I don't imagine an ambitious move for a wilder or Hughes will be anywhere close.

  10. I genuinely believe there will be a mutual parting of the ways at the end of the season. I also suspect Ainsworth is holding out for the Rovers job too. He has been strongly linked to the vacant Preston job but no appointment made. Not saying he will get it but I think he wants to give himself a chance of the job he craves.

Nyambe wants out, and I don't think anyone would blame him. Rovers see more value in a Josh King esque tribunal situation than extending for 12-months and trying to get value for him on the market from a fairly weak position. Of the teams who want him, Stoke is the preferred location - perhaps they'll offer a better wage/guaranteed starting spot?

Genuine question and forgive my lack of knowledge in this area, but if we don't trigger his option can we expect anything from a tribunal?? Or do we just need to make him another offer(which inevitably he will decline?).

I've tried my best not to allow my frustrations with Mowbray become hatred and intense dislike.

We've now reached the stage where it is spilling over into extreme dislike and will be for a lot of people.

Shame it is going this way after a relatively positive 3 years or so but this is standard stuff in football for those who overstay their welcome. A sacking or resignation before now would have seen him on his way with a pat on the back and gratitude from many for his efforts.

Shame he's taken this route but not surprising. The fact his two mates rely on him for their jobs probably adds to his reluctance to go, but I agree he should be way past the resignation stage. Any serious club would have sacked him long ago.

He's past the point of no return, he knows it, we know it, the players know it. So it is going to get ugly. His choice. He can hide in an empty stadium but that won't last forever.

I'll always wonder at what point did people like him and Kean realise they were bulletproof?

It boils my blood that such inadequate managers can establish such control and invincibility over a club of our size and stature just by saying the right things to the owners.

He's had a real do out of us over 4 years. We owe him nothing.

It's well into extreme dislike for me. Infact he's now no2 on the list of disliked as he has surpassed coyle for me. This carries on much longer he'll be heading into kean territory but he still has someway to go yet. Hopefully he will be removed before then but I think we are stuck with him until the end of the season at least. Unfortunately we will need to sack him as it is clear he won't resign and to be fair it's difficult to blame him. He ain't gona get a gig at this level again, and we were the ones who gave him the contract in the first place. We need to be more savvy in future with contracts. Insert clauses meaning we can terminate with pre agreed compensation if certain targets aren't met. Not sure if this kind of thing is possible. I know top managers wouldnt accept such clauses, but chancers like Mowbray will accept it if they want the job surely.
