and JH continue this theme again. 6 of those were out of contracts players who shouldn't had their contracts renewed and weren't. Also with them gone as allow players like Dolan and Buckley to become first team regulars. Why would anyone would to keep those 6 players? on the loans players, 2 of them performed excellent but were never coming back and the other 3 were poor here. and Armstrong was always to go if someone matched the asking price.

But what you also failed to mention that we using players like Butterworth, Carter, Davenport, Garrett as back up who young and we can develop into first team regular.

a great opening partnership from the openers

It wouldn't be an opening partnership if it was the middle order though would it.

    No word on Obafemi?

Won't be too happy if that doesn't go through as we'll probably end up with someone on loan otherwise and long term Armstrong probably won't be directly replaced.

If we need to survive on loans so be it. Then next season hopefully Mowbray will be gone and the new man can build a fresh with his own team. Just not sure if I trust venkys to get the next appointment right. 🙁

Agree 15m straight is disappointing with the sell on. Contract situation fucks it up I suppose but I think Southampton have got a proper bargain there.

I don't think they've got a bargain at all. Think we've done well to get that for a player in the last year of his contract, who in my opinion is a flat track bully, and who'll go the same way as Rhodes and gestede before him.

Norwich have offered 15 million pounds plus Idah on loan.

4 or 5 PL clubs need strikers at the minute so wouldn't surprise if West Ham or Brighton bid for Armstrong when a fee is agree with another PL club

According to nixon yes but not according to journos local to Norwich. Where's your evidence Chaddy?

I think this is the last desperate attempt by Waggott and Pasha to drum up some interest and entice some fans back before the season starts.

The damage their regime has caused will be coming clear now with awful season ticket sales and the last trick up the sleeve is to try and win people over with something 'direct' from the owners reaffirming their commitment at a time when there are rightly serious questions being asked again about their running of the club.

I very much doubt Balaji has written this. Probably dictated or prepared by Waggott and then emailed over for his staff to transpose onto his letterhead and for his signature. Appears therefore more authentic than merely a typed article on the website as in previous years.

I thought exactly the same. He's put his name to somebody else's letter. TBF he may not even be aware of it. I mean has anyone seen Balajis signature.

you can over the hill at any age,due to injuries, motivation, attitude or any number of factors, shevchenko for example was well past it when he signed for chelsea, despite only being 30,maybe reach is`nt shot,it just seems to me that tony only goes for shopworn players because they are content not to rock the dressing room whereas a young, hungry player will take more managing, tony does`nt do managing, coaching or seemingly anything,he`s already said he does`nt monitor fitness levels,we don`t practice set pieces and he does`nt do tactics, not a lot happens at brockhall by all accounts🤫

I think you hit the nail on the head 5 lines in 👍😂

this potential reach signing is another bradley johnson,an over the hill player who`s going to get one last big contract, very much a mowbray type player, easy to manage because he`ll be content to just pick up his wages without fuss, tony does`nt do ambitious, young and hungry  player,if you are then you`ll be sold, benched or played out of position till you get the message and knuckle down under tony`s crap methods

Is 28 over the hill these days. Not advocating the signing BTW.

After Armstrong goes and there’s no signings I think the odds will come down. Then during Mowbray’s first august-September death spiral we’ll be odds on.

Im not convinced we will go down. Hopefully the pre Xmas new manager bounce should be enough.

I've used a couple of free bets on it so not really out of pocket if we survive. Do you think they'll pot Tony if we are in trouble at Xmas? I wish i shared your confidence.

Nah, we just need to get a few clubs bidding for him. Apparently Rafa is interested.

    Everton

They need to get on with it. AA going is inevitable, so for the benefit of the club we really could do without it dragging on. Then whatever pittance if any, is provided from those funds generated, Tony can spend(unwisely most likely) on a replacement.

  10. Well after a couple of weeks observing from afar I have finally acknowledged my ban(bit like after the horse has bolted mind you given I said I would be taking myself out for a period of time. I also stand by everything I said that led to it but I'll leave it there). Anyway, it strikes me as incredibly odd that we would appoint a head of recruitment but not sign anyone, even for Rovers that's frankly bizarre. But then again, is it Tony at work looking after after his jobless mates and giving them a payday. I can't fathom, if true, turning down £15m for Arma. Its either stupid or someone is digging their heels in and playing a brave game expecting the other party to blink first. I don't fancy our chances.
