Its a £20m deal, that was the point.

He's also made 15 appearances already this season, it doesn't matter if they're from the bench which most are not.

£5m(minus 40%)of which we highly likely won't see unless he develops into a top Premier league striker. I can't see it, he was and is a flat track bully. He'll be back in the championship soon. That's his level.

Just on the Armstrong fee, we had weeks on here arguing about the actual fee paid by Southampton. They paid £15m up front rising to £20m with addons, confirmed by the manager over the weekend.

As many of us stated at the time, the deal was £20m, a great bit of business by the club.

It's only £15m until he hits the add ons. Not sure how many times he warms the bench will trigger an additional payment

I don’t know if this has already been posted but told that Zeefuik is done. Been at The Avenue for a few days apparently. Financials and particulars sorted just a work permit thing apparently

Do you forsee any issues with a permit with regards the new points system. I'm guessing the fact he's played in the bundesliga will be a strong case

I’ve been thinking about this team and January and there’s a train of thought that says you don’t sell, OR sign anyone…here’s why.

The power of this team is this group. They’re not the most talented group in the league, nor the most expensively assembled. But they are a proper team. A group of individuals who clearly care about each other and the club. The prominence of the academy and U23’s players means many of them feel like brothers. There’s no factions or politics…the signed players are all fully bought in too.

Selling any key members of this team will destabilise it enough to derail our chances of automatic promotion, even if we find great replacements.

Similarly, any new signings have the ability to upset the group chemistry.

Though I do believe we need another forward or two. IF we  could get a Maja type in for that period when injuries and suspension bites and get 5-10 goals from them it would surely secure us with a place in the playoffs? Could Dack be this player though?

Huge month ahead. I’d be very happy to lose no one, sign no one and have Dack and JRC firing by Feb 1st.

We need to give up on JRC I think. He's too fragile. I really hope Dack can get back to the levels he is capable of mind you.

He’s doing absolutely nothing wrong. You’ve given an opinion, he’s asked what you’re basing it on. You do the exact same thing all the time on here.

I’m unsure why you’re being so defensive (or if it’s just the wording of your post making it read as defensive) but I’m confident there’s no malice in it, so it might be worth changing your tone to avoid causing unnecessary disruption.

Bout time this was called out. Been happening far too long. Well said J*B

  6. Interesting read in the LT this morning with regard to Mowbrays second half season record. The Rovers bit I knew about but it also takes in his record at previous clubs. Despite the fact he appears to have stumbled on a system that works, I'd still not argue if there was a managerial change right now. Providing it wasn't the cheap option obviously(sadly that appears to be the options our club deal in)

  7. We need to give a huge wage rise to Diaz, but put a release clause in. The number crunchers need to work out what. If he has the 12month option as is suggested and he knows we'll be exercising it, he may be happy to sign with the increase as long as he knows he'll be allowed to leave if a satisfactory bid comes in. That's the most important business we can do right now

    So the club dont know?

We didnt activate Rothwells and Nyambes year until last summer.Sharpe knew about both those before activation.

The £100 bet is still on the table that he wont be leaving for free this summer.

You answered that question when you said they got it wrong about Chapman. They do get things wrong, the simplest of things. That said you'd like to think after they made themselves look stupid the last time they would make sure this time. 🙄

They are trying to negotiate a new deal with him.Does it matter they havent activated it yet?

Sharpe has asked the club, that link you just posted is probably some kid in his bedroom writing it

If you are that confident there is no year option and you believe he will go on a free then have the bet with me.Easy £100 for you

Didn't sharpe say we had an option on Chapman though aswell, and that turned out to be wrong.

Response from Rovers just received. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. It appears to be the absolute minimum in terms of a response. I’d be interested to know what you guys think 🤔

That's fair enough. Apology made on behalf of the players, however I direct apology from the players themselves would be welcome. In terms of what they have done to address it, often it's right to be kept within the camp.

A shameful night in this Clubs long history...I still can't come to terms with what I witnessed.

These morons on Twitter etc, have they no pride, don't they care what is happening at Ewood...have they no common sense?

What a way for our clown of a manager to celebrate the becoming the third longest serving post war manager., by delivering the worst home result in our history. He should give us all a chance to celebrate by handing in his resignation today and pissing off back to boro.

The tipping point could well be next Saturday , I think we will lose at QPR that leaves Reading at home next Saturday...

Lose that and his easy ride will come to an end , there won't be many from Reading and the shouts of Mowbray out will be heard ...

He needs and deserves to be hounded out , his welcome has been over stayed by at least 3 years ...

I highly doubt it. This journey is set to run its course till season end. Then there may be a glimmer of hope that we get a new captain at the wheel, who'll guide us to sunnier climes
