Think people need to give up hoping on Kipre. That ain't happening. So much for this signing that was close 2 days ago. We really need defenders in for the final preseason game.

If its not Kipre, who is it then? Very much doubt it with the Bolton lad.
Yep I doubt it's the Bolton lad also. TM mentions the worry they might want something else in the contract at the last moment. If it was this Darcy I imagine he probably couldn't wait to sign on the dotted line.

Part of me still think we'll get him. If West Brom haven't tied him down quickly, surely we've still a chance?
We won't

The guy who broke the news reckons it's still happening.
Let it go mate. You'll only cause yourself pain. He ain't coming now. Think this bloke is enjoying stringing us along.

Barry Ferguson was another one I got wrong. I was over the moon when we signed him. When I saw him play for Scotland I thought he was like the next Graham Souness ( who if you never saw him play was a terrific player ) but he flopped badly at Ewood.
Caught the back end of souness' career. Great player. Yes ferguson flopped, I had high hopes for him too.

I might be wrong, but I don't remember Tim Sherwood winning our player of the year award, but Batty won it in 93/94.
A quick search it appears I am wrong. I had recollections of a win in 97 or 98. Maybe it was a supporters award rather than a club award or something. Maybe 20 plus years on, I am just outraged he was overlooked. Anyhow, he was definitely the driving force that season that kept us up(in my opinion of course).

Of course, that's what footballs all about. We all have our different opinions. That's fair enough in my book. Everybody gets it wrong sometimes. For example I thought David Bentley was going to be a bad signing. Obviously I was badly wrong the first time but right the second time.

I was never a Sherwood fan, it would be Batty every day for me.
That's fair enough. We all have our opinions, I wasn't arguing yours just putting mine forward. Like Mowbray has his opinion on Gallagher which differs from 90% of the people on this message board. Sadly, as the manager, his is the one that counts.

How many England caps did Batty get and how many did Sherwood get ?
Not really relevant. Who was the best midfielder for Blackburn of the two. The bloke who captained us to glory in 95. He also won the player of the year award couple of years later for an outstanding season when his performances kept us in the prem that year.

Not in my top 100.
Bringing Batty back in nearly cost us the prem. Not for me.

Just seen someone on twitter saying a deal with Kipre from Wigan is completed.
Not sure how believable that is. If so that's a class signing.
I think Nixon is probably more reliable than twitter, so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Kane has to go into quarantine.
There you go. Fucking typical. I hate that they have a hold over the people who are meant to be in charge.

Thanks for the link Craig man.
500k seems cheap considering his experience and his stats from last season.
Unless the FA waved the Quarantine rules like they have done with Liverpool when they coming back from Austria?
Do they have regular Coronavirus testing in Belgium for footballers?
The FA change all the rules for the scousers. They wont for us that's for sure. We aren't relevant enough.

Sorry a typo i think it was 3 million for Tim Flowers
Back to this keeper i hope it isn't all sounding a bit too good to be true.
It does sound too good to be true I agree. I'm refusing to get excited till it's sealed. I remember previously when we had deals ready to go. We pissed around in the case of Roy Keane, and Man U stepped in. Then that bloody ash cloud thwarted the Lewandowski deal.

well Charlton wanted 2 million pounds for Bauer. Given he played in their promotion season and scored a goal in the final you could say its was worth it.
On Philips, if the fee is less a million pounds then I would be paying it. Unless we want someone better than him
Not often we agree Chaddy ?

It doesn’t matter what it says. If he comes we have to judge him on how he plays for us.
Absolutely I agree. I would back him as I still continue to back Brereton, in the vain hope he actually comes good. Just wondered how concrete the reportcomes across in English, or whether it was the German answer to Alan nixon talking bollocks.

Unsure how reputable this is, it needs translating too but a link to Hofmann.

Also a bit on why things didnt go right at Brentford, including that he wasnt physically in good shape.
Would be a weird one, maybe agent talk. Last season he scored quite a few goals, before then, not so many, he is a target man so not really fitting in with Mowbrays supposed "vision" and he would cost a decent fee. Would also potentially mean Armstrong out wide, unless he is going.
Anyone know enough German to figure out what this says. Looking at the other article he could be one to avoid.

Yes @chaddyrovers Mowbray told us we needed 2 goalkeepers, LB and CB this time last year. Not even Nixon is that slow on the uptake. Where's this idea that we're in for a first team goalscoring forward come from? Gallagher played as a front man or of 2, we'd have the proven goalscorer we need.
Chaddy won't let you bad mouth nixon. He hangs off his every word. He's the gullible type , which is nixons target audience!!!

Chaddy, I have never heard you be even mildly critical of Mowbray or any of his signings(until the day TM himself decides they are shit after all and then you agree) , that's why I describe you as living in a world where everything is perfect. And as for hysterical, you are the only one hysterical with your last response to me. Not long ago you were saying Hilton should be no2 next season and we will get a foreign keeper as our no1 courtesy of our famed European scouting network. Now this boro reject is reported to be heading our way and already you are trying to justify the signing with stats.

The fact he's played some games at this level doesn't necessarily make him any better than Fisher, if by chance we'd had injuries in that position like Boro and been forced to play Fisher or had simply opted to give him a try out because Walton was so poor, would you still say this Boro lad was a much better option?
The fact he's played a few games doesn't mean he's the answer any more than the view that Fisher is not because he hasn't yet been handed his chance.
It's like saying a crap older keeper is the answer because they have "experience". It's nonsense.
Chaddy lives in a different world to the rest of us. Everything is perfect and the ruler of the kingdom is a bloke called Mowbray. Thought you would have learned that by now. He can't help but blow smoke up his arse

Why react to a link as though we have signed him, even if true everyone knows we need 2 goalies, could be for back up, let’s wait and see who we sign before beating up everyone at the club.
We have 3 backups at the club already. Hilton Fisher and Eastham. Why blow a wage on another with barely more experience than those. Unless we are planning on binning some of them off.
