  1. Winning possession today, As usual, does not necessarily mean Rovers are getting good shots
  2. It’s refreshing to see so much optimism about the Rovers on this thread, I don’t believe I have seen things this positive since I started looking at this board four or five years ago. However beaten up the squad have been, they’ve answered all questions the last two games. The midfield has been outstanding, and Bell & Williams haven’t looked this good since League 1 days. Kaminski has been just what the doctor ordered. I do not want to quash the enthusiasm, and normally I’m crapping sunshine. I guess I’m the voice of cautious optimism here, looking for Rovers to concede early, and fight like crazy to get a point. If so, my hopes for the rest of the season rise with each game, and each returnee as he becomes fit. Yes, I will gladly take my plate of crow afterwards, chicken-fried and with cream gravy, please (what else for a Southerner?!)
  3. Wonderful the play we’re seeing from these 11. With guys returning to fitness soon, Tony has a nice problem on his hands.
  4. What encore do Rovers have to top 9 goals in two games
  5. BB, 3 shots on target, 0 goals. Keep firing, lad!
  6. Youth & experience scoring, I’m loving this!
  7. Return haiku- if Rovers score 2, that might have to do.
  8. As strange as it seems, Rovers have beaten Liverpool since Everton has ?
  9. Excellent win, with what many thought was Arma & a bunch of scrubs. A great weekend, with U23’s dispatching ManC.
  10. We won’t see another score fest like this. Until Dacky returns ?
  11. Lots of hustle & scrappy play. Very appealing football by Rovers
  12. Dolan, making great things happen!
  13. So I wake up in an irritable mood here in Texas; it gets worse when I see all the PL action I used to get free on NBC or NBCSN is now on peacock TV. Ugh I need Rovers to play decently today to life my spirits.
  14. I’m not into must-win scenarios. But, this is the game in 46 we expect to win. No thinking otherwise. But, I’m sure it won’t be easy. The young guys need to step up. JR-C & Lenihan, 2-1 (pk). Assist By Holtby.
  15. Unless we sell a player, I assume. I sure would hate to lose anyone else now.
  16. 100%. We might say Mowbray’s possession football doesn’t work; but, maybe that’s what has kept us so close today. Maybe Arma will be the difference maker
  17. Rovers with a heroic effort, alas, 2-1.
  18. I would say, time to throw in Greg Cunningham’s name (again), but he’s only played 30+ games in 3 years, due to injury. Anybody know his current fitness?
  19. Transfers squashed, because LT glows about Magloire shutting down Vardy? I love playing youth, when they are ready, but it appears Rovers are going to youth movement a bit too soon.
  20. I watched nearly the whole thing. I am very pleased by the effort from all hands. JR-C really impressive, imo. On Leicester goal, Fisher should have grabbed it. On our corner, it was a beauty, and even with Williams’ glancing header, it appears a fox got a bit of it going in. LC had enough starters, Vandy, Ndidi, Gray, etc, they cannot say it wasn’t a PL side. overall, nice way to conclude preaseason. no shame in this one.
  21. I believe Gallagher is out. The wednesday put up a good fight. But I fear 5-1 or so tomorrow. But what I fear more, is Tony saying he tried to bring in long termers, but was unable to. Nat Phillips isn’t in favor at Liverpool, I expect to hear shortly we have him for season loan. And another just like him. Same as last year, temp fixes, just not as good.
  22. I truly expected this off-season, Rovers would make three moves, putting them in position to finish 4th-6th in Championship for ‘20-‘21 season. No more temporary fixes, loaners that good or bad, would just keep our heads above water. We would finally get Key signings, that would shut up the most critical of our fans, and convince us that the Owners give a good damn about the future of the club. Was I wrong. Other than Kaminski, who I expect to be a slight improvement over Walton, the other key additions will once again be elders, like Wes Brown, Bradley Johnson or Stu Downing, or loanouts. Same as last year. So, after we take about a 5-1 pounding at King Power, we look forward to the new season with not much expectations. We have finished 8th since relegation from PL. Truthfully, I would have welcomed 8th this season. It would have been improvement. So, Championship survival is what’s at stake...yet again. Tony stayed he needed long term answers, not short term fixes, and yes, I believed him. I guess if he believed his bosses wanted to dress up their pretty blue & white toy, and make it more enjoyable to the fans (and more profitable to them) he isn’t a believer now. I’m generally a sunshine-pumper & rainbow crapper, but it’s not sunny here in Texas right now, and I doubt it will be sunny at Ewood Park this season. Substantial improvements in our 11 aren’t forthcoming. Survival. That’s what we look forward to this year.... same as the last eight seasons.
