  1. With the revolving door lineup we have, I have almost zero expectations for Saturday. Tony not totally at fault for that. 5% chance of win or tie, imo.
  2. I’m like everybody else, in one respect- not happy about yesterday’s result, but not ready to panic, and start sacking, either. As I stated when Douglas, Trybull & Pears were brought in, we need to expect some good results by Boxing Day- and I don’t mean a win, a loss, a tie, repeat, etc. We need to see 4 pts out of 6, 7 pts out of 9, etc. Right now, we’re not even close to 4 pts out of 9.
  3. Lots of good opportunities for Rovers this half
  4. what we now know... - JF-C is not much use as a back; - Pears needs more work, pref, U23s; - Evans should not play on a side hoping for promotion to PL.
  5. Big game in our Texan family. Our son got his Master’s at Reading, so he likes Royals well enough. But, he’s a huge Liverpool fan, so he loves Harv Elliott, and will be pulling for Elliott to do well. I attended the game at Reading last Sept., which was a Rovers win, with Armstrong & Dack each getting a goal. No Dack this time, but I fancy the rest of the squad is improved. A 2-1 win this time would be most excellent.
  6. These 11 are great, glad they put on a show today. Well done, lads!
  7. Crow is served best, chicken-fried, with cream gravy ?
  8. We had possession 2/3 of the time vs Watford, we oughta have it 80% today
  9. Love to see Harvey get his first Rovers goal today
  10. Here’s our big chance... just once overwhelm a 10-man side ?
  11. Today’s lineup selection by Tony guarantees there will be no griping afterwards. ?
  12. Here’s hoping we can put it back together, and get back on track as promotion contenders. Rovers were a beat-up squad going into Derby game, and so far, it was the best performance of the year. But, we had JR-C and Rothwell, and Johnson on his player of the month ambuscade. Lest we forget, Williams & Bell on defence. Rovers need that kind of complete performance again. hopefully, guys will play competently enough to dispatch Coventry (and I’m sure ol’ Tony will get properly reminiscent in his pre-game comments on his old club!) Rovers, 2; Coventry, 1.
  13. Yes, time to start Douglas & Trybull. Hopefully R-C as well. I’m hopeful of a win, this new & improved squad needs to come together, beginning this weekend.
  14. Dack to come back after November break, supposedly. I would feel better if I knew anything about Travis. How long is he expected to be out? Yeah, I like the fact we had 66% poss, and 7 shots on goal. But, I am not assured of top-6. We were 6th, three games ago, and led the division with a +8 goal diff. We’re 14th now, and need a couple of cream puffs we can dominate. I would feel better then.
  15. Yes, baffling performance. Lots of blame to be shared, by many of our best players. The og, the missed pk, etc, lots to go around.
  16. Rovers with 66% poss, 18 shots, 7 on goal, but allow an og, miss a pk, etc. Dominating performance, but... dominated by their own mistakes.
  17. Own-goal; missed pk, etc. lots of blame to be shared for this one. It’s hard to envision playoffs with performances like this.
  18. 64% possession lol, anybody gloating?
  19. I love the lineup today, I think even the most discerning of our fans can approve of what Tony has done juggling the roster.
  20. I think it’s a bit premature for dire predictions. Watford is a top side, anyway, we already knew that. We got everything we said we needed, and none of them have even played yet. If these last four additions don’t help, I will be right with some of you, asking for bigger changes, but let’s wait and see if they make a difference... at least until Boxing Day. That’s only two months and some change. We can wait that long to demand heads roll.
  21. LT says JR-C trained today. If he’s ready, put him in. i agree on Dolan, good hustle vs a worn down D.
  22. I like this, but I am also somewhat sympathetic to Bell. He’s playing awfully well, maybe start him, and give Douglas a half. JR-C I might pencil in, & give Trybull a runout in the 2nd half. If guys are doing well, leave ‘em alone, & change at 66’. I still like Dolan, but I would bring him off the bench in this one. I will optimistically say 1-1. I was worried about this fixture when they dropped down from PL.
  23. I disagree. The upgrades we got yesterday will put most of these 4 on the pine. There is no way Liverpool let Elliott out on loan, for us not to play him regularly. Trybull & Douglas are playing for their future, since they are out of contract next summer. it will be sorted out.
