Life in the Championship is not odious, as long as we win games we’re capable of winning, and are competitive in the others. But today was a kick in the crotch, and it’s becoming quite commonplace to experience that this season. If any team in the division gives us a thought, it’s simply Rovers are limited by a Manager who employs a defense they can break down. We are limited by an unimaginative, uninspired, and poor technical manager.

Welcome aboard, have a good cry with the rest of us. I see a team with some really talented players up front, and deficient ones at back. Lenihan is serviceable, & Nyambe, alas, I fear Nyambe exit when his contract is up. Bell is League 1 material, but our best today, that says it all. Ayala is a wuss and Douglas may well be on his way back to Leeds.

I endorse Rich Sharpe comments.

It’s all so depressing. There’s no recovering from this. Rovers are 1st in our hearts, but 14th on the table. We’ve got several players who can win at this level, but I’m convinced with poor to nonexistent leadership, there’s no hope for advancing.
-
All that this means, is in the January transfer period, mowbray will regrettably say he came up short landing any defenders. We’re cooked. No way there’s any playoff hope this year.
-
No, I’ve given up that hope. I’d say, let’s finish strong, a solid top third, but I’m afraid That would give mowbray ammo that he can say he’s very close. I always want Rovers to win, but this shows we aren’t close at all. Dacky may well regret his decision to re-sign.

H’fld joyous, at the prospects of a defense without Nyambe. The team has to feel gutted

One of the few times this season we haven’t won possession... not sure how to interpret that... Methinks Dack in 2nd half would be a difference-maker.
-
I tend to agree with you, let’s see when Dack, BB get their legs under them & some game time. Then, Travis comes back in a week (it sounds like I’m putting way too much faith in the midfield, when it’s defenders who’ve been costing us).
-
Of all our loanees, Douglas is the most disappointing. Probably because he arrived with very high expectations, considering past promotions, etc.
-
I am hoping for a solid, convincing Rovers win today. And, a strong performance by Dack. No predictions, I’m too used to seeing them not pan out.

Honestly, I quite like our midfield... yes, our D calls for worrying today. -

I hope you’re right. That should def put Rovers in the hunt. -

This game is tremendously important. It’s imperative Rovers have a strong showing, and again, Jan 16. Just about everything until March are highly winnable games. If we’re gonna make a run, it started with our midweek mess vs Rotherham. But in March... ugh, points are going to be scarce. We might take 2 out of the 15 possible. -
I agree on the point totals, re: Next 5 matches. If we don’t start picking up some big points, we might as well forget about playoff or promotion, and get excited about finish in the top third, as opposed to mid table. Dack returning soon will be a welcome addition, but honestly, the defending is where we are lacking. We will just be losing to teams above us in the table, 2-3, instead of 1-2 as we now do.
