  1. For this being such a “meaningless game”, there are certainly several players on the squad that have a lot to prove. Its my guess Mowbray will play several young players vs. Luton, with a view towards establishing them for next season. Why? Because finances are sure to be a mess & buying players in these times is iffy business. I think the best we can hope for in the short offseason is to find a decent gk. The rest may well be already on the current 1st team, or U23’s.
  2. Yeah, I’d like to see younger guys in the finale. Take off Johnson for sure. Are we persuaded Fisher is the better alternative over Walton? Heck, yeah, give him a try, let’s see what happens. anyone fancy Pearson? He’s available...
  3. I liked him earlier In the season, but he’s just not good enough at this level. There’s just got to be better gks out there. It shouldn’t be hard to find one.
  4. Very gratifying win today, young guys playing well in seemingly l meaningless games. Obviously it meant something to them! also, good for BB & SG. Strong show, lads!
  5. I’m a bit confused by Johnson’s inclusion. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised.
  6. Armstrong & Dack scored vs Reading way back in September (I remember, I was there, Texan in England on vacation!), it would be nice if Armstrong could score again. Without Dack, could he get a brace this time... plz?
  7. I know it’s not the sentiment of everybody here, but I would love to see Rovers get 3 pts in at least one of the final two. Finish ahead of some of these other clubs in this logjam, and for sure finish in the top 12, with more points than last season. Nothing is to be gained, hoping we lose. I will predict right now, no matter what happens, TM isn’t going anywhere. I have to cheer for my club.
  8. I’m not so quick to give Rovers the win over either of these clubs. Reading’s form has been better, and Luton, fighting for survival, have already beat us at our house.
  9. Just for fun (y’all forgive me if I don’t put the players in the right formation: Hilton JR-C Nyambe Lenihan Hart Rothwell Chapman Davenport Travis Armstrong Brereton
  10. I guess I’m glad I chose not to pay for iFollow it’s hard enough just watching the bbc game thread, holding my breath, feeling the pit in my stomach, dreading the next post.
  11. I think in the history of posting game threads, this is the quickest new thread. What a game... what a team! Such anticipation! ? The home cutouts are already in their seats, relishing such a divine opportunity to vanquish infidels, set all things awright, and Tony is sure to be himself again. That’s all we know for sure.
  12. I would say the last two games, only play guys under contract, or not here on loan. The others have had ample time to show their wares.
  13. Buckley & Davenport on... should we expect something?
  14. We have 63% possession... someone tell me how Tony thinks this is an asset when we have 4 shots to their 9, 1 on target to their 4. It makes no sense.
  15. Tony always wants us to win possession, we’re not even doing that. Grrr
  16. I watched the clip on Millwall Hooliganism. I don’t think there is any way here in U.S. they could segregate crowds like y’all do. There are still some ugly episodes that takes place. who has the worst crowds today- I’ve read Forest, WHU, & of course Millwall. Everybody can have a few rotten fans.
  17. Yeah, 99, I think you are right. Gallagher knows he needs a big game, and he should give his best efforts. He’s got talent, he just needs to show it. Davenport is getting lots of love; maybe he feels he has a lot to prove. We will see.
  18. Meanwhile, at Wycombe, Ainsworth achieved promotion. First time ever to the Championship. Lots of folks thought it could never be done. Kudos to him. Going back to Millwall/Rovers, for some reason, I expect an avalanche of goals. Last team with the ball wins. Rovers, 4; Lions, 3.
  19. I tend to agree with you. Our oldest son-in-law makes a Guinness Stout that is very enjoyable, at about twice the alcohol percentage, I have to watch out. Most Americans equate it to drinking molasses! when we were in Reading in September for Rovers vs Reading game, I had a pint of Proper Job IPA at Sweeney & Todd’s. It was fairly enjoyable.
  20. My BD is March 7; my granny was March 14! Still an important day to me. It takes me three weeks to finish a six-pack. Some of that is being 58, some of that is it’s just not as enjoyable as it once was. But, during the pandemic I’ve had a chance to try lots of different beers- local-made, IPA, Mexican (Dos Equis, Modelo) bocks, lagers, etc. I still like Shiner, and Ziegen, both are Texas bocks. Strangely enough, I keep going back to Pabst. Good, solid American beer, cheaper than most. It comes in pints, too!
  21. A lot of people on this board get frustrated when we lose- I know I do. But It’s unfair to say those fans, “want Rovers to lose.” Also, we can disagree on Mowbray staying or getting sacked, and still be fans of the club. But no matter what side of Mowbray you’re on, nobody can say the man doesn’t care if he loses. I had to say that. Having said it, the point won today was one of the hardest earned and most deserved point won of the season. Very proud of the manager, staff, and players.
