Very predictable, No Dack, Bennett, JR-C, Holtby, Williams, Rothwell, or Travis. Midfield absolutely stunk it up. some guys played themselves out of lineup today. better days ahead, guys.

Bah
-
I’d be thrilled to get a point today, tbh
-
I’m not displeased; I expected Grabban or Lolley to score early, Rovers fight back, etc. lots of game to be played, anything is possible.
-
I feel the same. Whatever happens, I cut ‘em some slack today. Still, it’s not a bad 11.
-
Yep, competition never hurt anybody. Rovers have definitely upped their game. The pressure now is on one person- Mowbray.
-
That’s a pretty fair 11...even with the long list of absentees. No guarantees on another clean-sheet, but defensively, that doesn’t look too bad.
-
I know I predicted a win earlier; but our new additions won’t be in the squad tomorrow, and we are looking pretty thin in midfield (Travis also out). I guess I would gladly take a point, and hope for better days soon. You can’t always get what you want. And, I got everything I wanted today (& more!)

Competition benefits everybody, imo individually as well as the team.

BOOM!!! Today feels like Christmas

Gotta have some faith (in best Oddball voice from Kelly’s Heroes). I tell you what, I will pull you out of the doldrums now, and you can pull me up later, deal? lol

This is all true. I understand the situation; but there was really no gain in standing a pat hand. We all know the disappointments of the last 10 years, I think many of us simply don’t want to get excited, for fear of suffering yet another disappointment. I’ve got to be excited right now. These moves help us. We’re at least moving in the right direction. if we win, the future takes care of itself. At this moment, I don’t want to think about the alternative.
-
True, but it’s about winning now, and we’re getting these players during economic lean times. Besides, aren’t Douglas & Trybull out of contract at year’s end? The owners could’ve negated any deals, saying, “look at us, we’re already in a playoff place, lead the league with a +8 goal diff”, etc. This is a good faith effort on their part. I hope we see great results, but if not, we can’t say they didn’t try. Right now, I’m not worried about what happens in summer, we needed a shot in the arm now.

Rovers may or may not get in playoffs, or push for promotion. But these moves show a keen interest in building the roster to be big time. We’ve got everything on our wish list, and more, if Harv Elliott joins. I’m very excited about the Rest of the season.
-
If these transfers come about, I’d say, “playoffs, here we come!” (Barring another round of injuries)
-
This seems to be a very objective assessment. All the positives, although with “glass ankles.” He’s not Travis (sadly, out for the year), a different game as a CDM, but I believe he would make a very welcome addition to our club, and complement our existing players very well. We seem to get 25-35 games out of our players. I hope that’s not the case here, we need to count on these new players to be strong performers, not just minimal contributors, if we hope to make a serious playoff push.

I am not against any of these moves. I just think it strange Mowbray would be so hot for a 3rd gk, when we’ve always got to play two CB’s, we are already short at LB, and truthfully, we’re thin at all four back positions. Even though I don’t see Bennett in a key role going forward, it’s obvious now he’s a long-term absentee. I guess TM has already figured out we won’t have Kaminski very long. That is sad news. but the thought of having kaminski, Stergiakis & Pears all at one time, when all we had last year was Walton, that seems really deficient thinking to me.
-
Our midfield will need to win this game. We might even concede early, with injuries/inexperience at the back, but Holtby levels it, and Dolan figures in the game-winner. I’m feeling 2-1.
-
Sans injury, I do not see Rovers making any moves now. It would be great to get in a quality LB, or depth, but with the decent start by Bell, 3 clean sheets, etc, I do not see it happening.

Winning possession today, As usual, does not necessarily mean Rovers are getting good shots -

It’s refreshing to see so much optimism about the Rovers on this thread, I don’t believe I have seen things this positive since I started looking at this board four or five years ago. However beaten up the squad have been, they’ve answered all questions the last two games. The midfield has been outstanding, and Bell & Williams haven’t looked this good since League 1 days. Kaminski has been just what the doctor ordered. I do not want to quash the enthusiasm, and normally I’m crapping sunshine. I guess I’m the voice of cautious optimism here, looking for Rovers to concede early, and fight like crazy to get a point. If so, my hopes for the rest of the season rise with each game, and each returnee as he becomes fit. Yes, I will gladly take my plate of crow afterwards, chicken-fried and with cream gravy, please (what else for a Southerner?!) -
Wonderful the play we’re seeing from these 11. With guys returning to fitness soon, Tony has a nice problem on his hands.
