  1. I agree 100%. He was non existent the whole game and only popped up four times to miss glaring chances! Was a bit unlucky with the handball. I still can’t work out what type of striker he is...
  2. I’m a lifelong fan who happens to have a bit of real insight into how things actually work Stu. That’s not ‘championing failure’ it’s real life. Suck it up. As Iv said, many of your / our concerns are valid. The biggest one not being mentioned is exactly what happened between Mowbray and the lads transfer deadline day resulting in Mulgrew going and Lenihans ‘injury’ as well as being overlooked for the captaincy....can’t get a bean out of anyone re that!!
  3. Which facts are those? The fact that Mowbray has given more U23s debuts than any other Rovers manager in the last 30yrs? The fact that he leads a management team who seek investment into retaining the academy CAT A status? The fact that he’s the first Rovers manager in modern history who watches youth training and matches everyday and makes himself available to speak to those young players everyday? The fact that he lead the call for Jonty to come into the first team set up with considerable expense attached because he wanted to improve the pipeline of young players into the first team and introduce analysis based coaching? The person I was attending with has the full confidence of the young players. But yeah, I’ll take the opinions of the CEO and the players over someone who sees from afar and has no actual knowledge or direct dealings with anyone. There’s lots to be concerned about as a Rovers fan at the mo. Trust me when I say this is not one of them.
  4. Grayson, Magloire, Butterworth, JRC and Buckley will all play for our first team I reckon. Certainly as long as Mowbray and his team are there...
  5. They did try to help him. He didn’t want to move.
  6. Because money doesn’t necessarily make you happy mate!
  7. Hahahahah mate. Leave it. This is coming from the young lads and Jonty. I’ll trust them on this one thanks ??
  8. I think he has put himself up as a target in respect of the expectations he’s raised Glen. I also think he might end up losing his job...but I spoke to Waggot pre match and sat behind him, Suhail and Cheston and they didn’t seem or look too concerned.
  9. Wow. You just added 2 and 2 and got 642584326! Couldnt be any further from the truth re the managers belief and encouragement of the young lads. I spoke with Steve Waggott and Joe Graysons mum this evening and both spoke about the manager and the clubs desire to integrate the young players in. The team he (TM) picked tonight including Platt, Grayson and Buckley in an important match (contextually) proves that. JRC and Butterworth will play this season too. 100% barking up the wrong tree here.
  10. Cunningham decent. I thought Grayson played well too. Brereton no existent for the full 96 minutes. Nyambe was poor at RB and has definitely played himself out of a start on Sat... walton Benno Tosin Williams Cunningham Travis Johnson Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Leut Nyambe Bell Evans Gally Chapman
  11. No. It isn’t. It’s somewhere between fair and good.
  12. £5m is nothing in that league now. Clubs vying for those spots have huge budgets. What’s clear now is that our budget doesn’t match our ambitions. It’s the managers job to deal with expectations and if he says he wants promotion then he has to have access to a much bigger budget. He hasn’t! So he will fall. But it doesn’t change the fact that his championship record isn’t abysmal.
  13. How so? I stated clearly at the beginning of the window that we had to judge the window at the end of the window - we’ll its not good enough. So my feeling is that the manager has let himself down and I think his days are numbered. Club first!
  14. You were doing so well until this!! Mowbrays Championship record with Rovers is pretty far from abysmal. In the season we went down the team performed in line the top 6 following his arrival. Last season (barring that god awful run which exposed our squad depth) we were a top half team in our first season back and we’re two games in to this season... I’m not saying Mowbray is tearing up trees in the Championship. His results are fair at worst and good at best. Abysmal, they are not.
  15. I agree. I don’t know why he put so much pressure on himself tbh. The team finished 15th. To have stated that he was looking to further improve looking for a top 10 finish would have kept most fans and the owners happy imo. When he came out at the end of last season saying he wanted top 6 I was sure he must have been given the nod by Venkys to spend £15-20m net this window. That obv was not the case... So now they’re stuck with the expectation of a top 6 club and the budget of a bottom half club. Barring a miracle, I think he’s signed his own death warrant.
  16. He’s more tetchy because he knows he’s history if it continues. Venkys expectations high. Management team reckon they’ll be gone within 10 games if it doesn’t work out.
  17. Yes, evidence of what I said over a week ago. The management team know how important it is to get it right. They’ve raised the expectations of the owners and fans this season and are exposed. So expect more prickly interviews and cut throat decisions on players. Mulgrew is just the beginning..
  18. Oooooosh....watch how many skip past that comment! ??
  19. Nope, I was there home and away. He was injured for a while and played at lb. When he was finally put in at CB next to Lenihan (A position he represents his country at) he was decent. Not spectacular but decent and did a job.
  20. Williams is a decent cb and much better than Mulgrew.
  21. Mowbrays stance against Mulgrew for me is a sign that he knows he’s under pressure. Mulgrew and Bennett are piss poor defenders. If he’s cslled them out then so what. More importantly he’s seems to have fired Mulgrew off to Wigan for his insolence. The squad may be feeling a little unnerved. Good, I say. There’s a few in there like Dack, Mulgrew, Bennett who’ve been coasting for months. Maybe it’s a shot across the bows of the players who’ll be thinking “Jeez, you don’t wanna piss the gaffer off. If he can shift the club captain out in half a day he can get rid of any of us!”
  22. Being realistic, the window has been ok. We’ve added some championship experience and quality. The signing of Cunningham and loan of Mulgrew is good business too. BUT we have not suitably sorted the defence and do I’m disappointed and I do not believe we will achieve our goal. The manager is under pressure.
  23. Ahh come on mate. Get with the program! They only become available at that point. Everyone hates deadline day. But clubs hang on as long as possible.
  24. Lenihan, Nyambe, Tosin and Williams is a better unit without Mulgrew. Imo
