  1. Pickering and Wharton could possibly play for England some day. I think you are greatly underrating them.
  2. Butterworth has already been on the bench. More concerned with Gallagher needing about 20 reserve games. I'd go with Butterworth and Khadra.
  3. The guy just looked rusty. But it was a pity he replaced Nyambe, as he would've been a better replacement for Trav.
  4. Khadra should keep his spot indeed. But so too Butterworth on the bench. The Dutch lad isn't for enough yet.
  5. I don't know why we can't offer contracts with big incentives for promotion.
  6. For my money Harvey and Armstrong were both very poor at defending from the front. I believe we are much better now. And think the young attacker we brought in may well be a more versatile all round player, after having experience at playing left back as well as on the wing and up front.
  7. Never seen a worse performance in goal than Pears. Was never convinced by him. Just did quite well in a couple of games. Cardiff would've made mincemeat of him.
  8. Are you mad? Trav has been excellent this season. He cleared the ball off the line on Saturday for flip sake.
  9. Travis is excellent defensively. Cleared the ball off the line yesterday. He just was a bit sloppy with his passing in that game, like all are midfielders and forwards.
  10. Yesterday I thought he was good. The team definitely improved when he came on.
  11. Yes, he is great to bring on when we are under the cosh. Yes, his first touch really is the problem.
  12. Wow! Even played left back. I thought he looked a solid all-round player. Be handy to put on left wing back if we are chasing the game.
  13. Looks robust enough and a good passer and finisher from the clips I have seen.
  14. I can see him play anywhere across the midfield 3. Imo he is one of the most versatile players we have.
  15. Hopefully our league position sway his decision. Would be a fine signing from what I have seen. I don't see Johnson or Davenport offering anything to the team if any our 3 in central midfield are out of the side.
  16. Fair enough. The young Dutch lad looks like a top player, and will be an important signing, especially now JRC is going to be utilised in a more forward position.
  17. Seems those in Hartlepool have much more faith in our team than our supporters. A top 10 should be possible indeed; hopefully more: https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/football/middlesbrough-fc/how-valuable-is-current-middlesbrough-squad-and-how-does-it-compare-to-league-rivals-stoke-city-and-blackburn-rovers-championship-clubs-ranked-by-total-squad-value-3367528?page=4
  18. Yeah, we have a very solid hard working team. I would be thinking more of a top 10. Possible playoff push if we can keep our key players fit.
  19. Personally I can't wait to see Butterworth and some of our other U23s given a chance. With the limitations I didn't have much faith in Tony bringing in a decent striker.
  20. If you have Buckley as a possible right back JRC has to be down as a possible left back option. Not that I would ever play either in those positions. The Dutchman is also a RB option though.
  21. We already have plenty of those. We have plenty of attacking options.
  22. Glad we didn't make an impulse striker signing..And hopefully Butterworth will get the game time he deserves now.
  23. We have done best having a hard working midfielder as our focal point in attack.
