  1. reading todays telegraph mowbray again discussing players by name and singling them out,a manager should keep his views on his players to the dressing room and training ground,it can` t help morale to be honest, you never read about saxton, mackay, dalglish, souness or hughes etc discussing what a player can or can`t do to the press, completely counter productive imo, especially to a young player
  2. this management lark is all about man management, you`ve got to treat people/players differently, some you can leave alone to get on with it,some need encouragement while some you just need to get rid of as quick as possible,it`s the same as managing a works department,if you don`t have their respect or upset them all they won`t perform,i think this is happening at rovers,i saw it at huddersfield, half the side won`t go the extra step for tony,i think he knows it but is either to proud or hoping to secure our place in the division for next year, then he will resign with a pay off
  3. he seems tired to me,fed up with the game and disallusioned, he certainly won`t be short of a bob or two,im`e sure he`ll finish at the end of the season
  4. unfortunately for us mowbray is`nt getting sacked, however there is light at the end of the dark tunnel,i think he`ll see the season out and retire,he`s looking more and more dejected on the touchline week by week,he just does`nt seem interested
  5. no tony, they don`t know their jobs because you play them everywhere, anywhere and in stupid formations, you`ve got no defenders cos you spunked 12 million quid on two strikers, one who is`nt even a footballer and the other one who you keep putting on the wing
  6. i remember him,a fat b*****d who could`nt run past his grandma, those crosses though, they were evil, oldham kind of built their game round him and their plastic pitch helped him as well,he could`nt trap a bag of cement
  7. you have to ask yourself,i you were in lenihans position what would you do,it`s a no brainer, only hope their scout picks up on his injury record and they decide to leave it,he`ll be gone next season though i think
  8. couple of preston fans where i work, they suddenly become extremely noisy when they win a few games and do their customary "play off drive!", for some reason they` ve developed an extreme dislike of rovers which is not mutual,i don`t even see them as rivals, when i was little my dad used to take us to deepdale when rovers were away ,when asked about this strange form of hatred they could only mumble something about jack walker and buying the league, complete bollocks of course,it was 25 years ago and what it had to do with preston in those days is beyond me,pretty sure we wer`nt in the same division,in a way they are the same as burnley fans ,both see themselves as sleeping giants(in prestons case it`s more like dead corpses),do rovers fans see them as rivals??i view bolton, burnley and even oldham in my dislike league more than preston
  9. if tony does`nt find a new keeper, two full backs and another centre back i`ll be fuming, lets face it we are not getting in the play offs ,just solidify this pitiful defence and work on the other depts next season,if he`s still here that is
  10. to anyone defending brereton,i remember paul mckinnon and as bad as he was he was still better than brereton and he came from the non league
  11. the most optimistic outlook for the current mess we are in is that mowbray may well decide to pack it in at the end of the season, walk away with a pay off and retire,he looks tired, devoid of ideas and unmotivated,i don`t think he`s going anywhere until the end of the season
  12. brereton is the worst signing in rovers history, never in my football watching life have i seen a pro player who is difficient in every department,it`s astonishing how he managed to make it to this level,i`ve seen some poor players in my time, but in every instance, they`ve been terrible but have always had one good attribute, chris brown for example,a shocking player but at least he tried and was a good header of the ball, luke varney, terrible, but at least he could pass the ball, ashley ward,a carthorse but could always control a football and hold it up,brereton can`t do anything,he looks like he belongs on whitton park
  13. give johnson a chance, young, ambitious and tactically astute, the polar opposite of tony the tinkerer
  14. id`e be more concerned abouth shoring up a defence that has no full backs 1 centre back about to go back to his club and a goalkeeper who looks terrified whenever he sees a football coming towards him
  15. i would`nt blame venkys if they told him to **** off there is no money
  16. no chance,he won`t walk out on missing his severance pay and won`t get sacked because he`s waggots mate, only saving grace is he might walk at the end of the season if he can work out a pay off
  17. that goal was the epitome of why we need fresh leadership, dominate for 10 minutes, switch off and concede
  18. due to his transfer fiascos we hav`nt got anyone else, barring nayambe
  19. tony nailed on to make a sub at half time, buckley on,downing off, that would be mowbray personified
  20. this is undoubtedly the worst rovers side iv`e ever seen, devoid of attacking threats and can`t/won`t defend add to that a terrible goalkeeper, the side is even worse than the early 90`s one under the last vestige of don mackay,at least that one had some desire
