  1. that why i find armstrong and to a lesser extent rothwell so frustrating, both of them drift inside, end up nowhere and don`t find space, just tell them your job consists of two things, supporting your full back and finding space out wide
  2. nyambe was hamstrung by bloody armstrong disapearing inside and not backing him up or overlapping, same with rothwell on the otherside, neither are to intelligent football wise but can do two things, run and dribble, why the **** they keep going inside is beyond me,i think id`e end up throwing the tea urn at both of them
  3. to narrow,to slow and to predictable, disapointing result against a commited but limited side, armstrong and rothwell kept coming inside and on the rare occasions they stay wider we looked slightly dangerous, tbh the way mowbray sets the team up we are more effective away from home, tony is terrified of putting the hammer down and going for a win,we are going to miss dack, holtby is not as mobile but is a good passer of the ball, that is if he gets picked as his replacement
  4. might be a red card tonight, cookes side are as ugly as he is and we are capable of some "mistimed" tackles!!you can get 4/1 on paddy power
  5. for the first time in ages im`e actually really looking forward to tonight, usually a case of hoping we get a result, tonight is all about positivity, hope tony does`nt tinker to much
  6. probably due to the fact that our match is the only bit of football in europe today, got to give them something to do?
  7. twas a s**thole with more mud than terracing if i remember right, still better than the soulless concrete monstrosity that is jjb stadium(or whatever its called)
  8. absolutely no excuse for dropping points against a team that can`t win away from home and are bottom,i hope mowbray is pumping the lads up and they come out tearing into the pie eaters,im`e predicting a 4-0 win?
  9. i think it was christmas 1990 we lost to bristol city just before christmas, notts county on boxing day and oxford on the 28th,the oxford game was so bad the blackburn end got fed up,changed alliegence and started to cheer the oxford lads there was a sit down protest against bill fox after the final whistle as well, rumour has it that after this was the game that jack walker started to get involved, strangely enough we had liverpool in the fa cup the week after and played them off the park, only for atkins to score that tragic own goal?,when garner smashed that volley in,i started off at the top of the blackburn end and finished halfway down the terrace pinned to a crush barrier!!!!absolute mayhem
  10. all about the police getting their overtime in,they have the final say on security and arrangements so they think we`ll milk this one for all it`s worth,i think they do the same for swansea vs cardiff,id`e love to know what would happen if we ever drew the dingles in a cup semi final or final at a neutral ground!!!!would the law insist on giving us an escort all the way down to wembley and would they insist on us setting off the night before?,maybe they`de even call on the armed division to keep us seperated,be some fun at hilton park services as well!!
  11. think that was new years eve or new years day, supposedly you got a free pie but it lasted about 1/2 an hour before they ran out!
  12. mostly remembered by me for clattenberg the ref simply guessing at decisions, santa cruz running off wearing a santa hat after scoring and some completely inept defending by us,i agree with you,it was a great day out
  13. 1977 was before my supporting time, best ones i remember were beating leeds 1-0 at home over christmas 1984 to go top of the league and tugays masterclass over gerrard and liverpool to give us a 1-0 win in circa 2006-2007,though in truth is should have been more.honourable mention to beating bolton away as well when the robbing **** charged us 38 quid a ticket,a dickov volley sending the notlobs into a sulk, best remembered for the train journey back to chorley,it was bouncing!!
  14. mowbray in the telegraph talking about the future of scott wharton, how he won`t be recalling him in january, according to tony, scott is not yet developed enough to handle the physical demands of this league, despite him starring for northampton in a league full of cloggers,he does`nt feel wharton is up to it but he`ll play williams at centre back, who gets bullied and dominated by everybody and anybody, sometimes i wonder if mowbray just hates anyone under 25,it can`t do anything positive for their confidence the way he speaks to the media
  15. in the next couple of months mowbray needs to look at the brereton situation, either get shut, take the loss or send him out on loan in the hope he metamorphes into a footballer, personally id`e get rid, some players don`t settle at a new club and you never see the best of them
  16. i remember vukjevic,he definately had the ability but appeared like he`d rather be anywhere other than east lancashire, that period was completely fubared,i turned my back for a couple of seasons and watched some non league footy
  17. who was worse edinho jnr or diogo rosado!!!??,iv`e forgotten the names of the rest of the portugal mob tbh
  18. he can`t be without ability surely, you don`t make it to this level without having something about you though he`s never showed us anything to suggest he`s even a footballer ,he does`nt even look like he belongs on the pitch, you could take on of us from the crowd and you won`t notice the difference,at the moment im`e struggling to understand why he`s so lacking in every dept,if it`s a confidence issue he needs shipping of to a lower league for 3 months to recover it
  19. in that era it did`nt take much to be named player of the year, from what i remember he could`nt tackle, could`nt pass and treated the ball like a handgrenade with the pin pulled out
  20. if we are including other era`s then tony finnegan, paul mckinnon and ashley ward would surely be up there!!!!!!!!!
  21. jason steele-no contest the worst goalkeeper iv`e ever seen bradley orr-keans bezzy mate and not very good footballer marcus olson-the brother of the very good martin, unfortunately he was`nt scott dann-could`nt head a football to save his life keith andrews-hought he was zidane when he was a park footballer, the reason everybody gave him abuse danny murphy-on massive money but contributed zero effort,a complete tax dodging tosspott who i hope goes bankrupt radislav petrovic-talentless,useless and blind i think, could`nt pass water bruno ribeiro-aka the invisible man, possibly did`nt exist and was a figment of keans imagination honourable mention to all the portugese lot who were undoubtedly useless and cost the club a fortune
  22. know it`s not last decade but it still makes me laugh,i was there and it was fantastic!!!!!!!!!
  23. i don`t think mowbray will pick chapman however well he plays,he`s not his type of player, not defensively inclined and to much of a maverick, likely to give mowbray nightmares, why he signed him is a question id`e love to know, surely he`s worth a place on the bench to bring on for the last 20 minutes against a tiring defence
  24. the only issue i have with nyambe is his positional awareness,it`s certainly not his strong point and maybe never will be,tbh i`de relieve him of it,put him on the wing and tell him to have a go at the opposition full back whenever possible, nothing worse for a full back than to have a someone with bags of running power coming at you,if you can get him to put some reasonable crosses over we`ll have a major weapon
