My gym only lets a certain amount of people on the floor at a time, must book your time in advance. Glass screens up between equipment. Everyone provided with their own bottle of sanitiser to wipe down equipment.

Is it 100% effective? Probably not, but life has to carry on the best if can without a vaccine...

Sounds like it being done properly. Which gym is it?

I dont think we are anywhere near good enough against the lower teams, the points record shows that, the teams we have lost to shows that, there is a weakness there. Its just that theres a misconception that its our only weakness.

But people often peddle this myth, "be typical Rovers to lose v bottom and beat top" and that we are good v the better teams. We need to improve v them too. Surely pre season should have a mix of teams we can try and break down and one or two better teams.

We seem to be best against lower mid table also rans.

It is a myth. Out of 22 games against the top half we won 6, and 2 of those were against BCFC who finished 12th. That's really poor considering we finished in the top half.

Its a bit of a myth that we are totally comfortable v the bigger teams in the division.

Out of the 20 games we played v teams that finished above us, we collected 20 points. And 29 points from the bottom 10. We need improvement across the board, not just v the smaller teams.

Indeed. We're good at beating the bottom-half shyte as shown by most of the teams we've beaten this season:-

Hull (twice), Reading (twice), Sheff W (twice), Bristol City (twice), Barnsley, Millwall, Brentford, Derby, Stoke, Boro, QPR, Charlton, Cardiff.

We need to be a lot better against the teams near the top, who invariably play good football. Playing PL teams in friendlies is obviously going to help with that, certainly more than playing lower league teams who just don't have the quality.

I don't personally believe there's a feasible replacement for Tosin on the market. He's a unique footballer who provided an asset we've not really seen from a centre-half at Ewood Park for a long while. You look at the loan options, the frees and the cheaper CB's of Championship quality, they're all Darragh Lenihan types, all defence and no passing or dribbling ability. If Tosin can't return, I don't think the solution is to spend £2m on an average centre-half, I think the answer is to move to a 3atb or 5atb system.

If the budget is £3m, we can't be wasting two thirds of it on a centre-back who won't be anything like as good as Tosin was for us. Focus those funds on a tolerable goalkeeper, a left back and whatever other hole needs filling, because the market for high quality central defenders is practically non-existent for a team with our funds available this summer.

A defenders first job is to defend. Great footballer, but Tosin can't have been that good at defending considering the number of goals we conceded. An experienced, solid Championship CD should be first on Mowbray's shopping list, along with an experienced, competent goalkeeper.

I think they are in Ibiza. Rothwell has gone out this morning too.

Is Ibiza not now exempt from the quarantine rules?

Ibiza is on the quarantine list still I think. So he'll have to go into lockdown for 2 weeks when he returns. If he has only gone today you wonder why the club hasn't told him to stay, unless the players 3 week break that Mowbray mentions in the LT article only started in the last few days. Still, if he's gone for 2 weeks he can only train again at Brockhall at the end of August.

Good player for us. Had a few memorable moments but top for me is scoring this frankly unbelievable team goal against Derby.

Really need a striker to come in of a similar quality and experience now

Edit - only just realised that hes had by far his longest spell with any club with Rovers.

That's a belter! Is that J Lowe doing his best Iniesta impression. I always rated Marshall - quality player.

  7. Gallagher will score goals in a team set up to play to his strengths.   He scored 12 goals under the tactical mastery of Coyle because at least that team got crosses in the box. 'Wide forwards' like BB,AA and SG tend not to cross very well. Put a 28 year old Conway in that team and SG would do a lot better as a CF. You can't blame the player if the system works against him...or he's stuck on the wing.

The secret to Sheff Utds success was that they overloaded the wings with CB's, WB's and midfielders/forwards and got crosses in for the likes of Billy Sharpe.  We are a million miles from that tactically. We rarely get crosses, especially from the goal line. Our system is nothing like Sheff Utd's.

Really nice dodge of the fact you said "Nobody claimed you knew more than Sharpe, READ my posts before you reply. Duh.." But it was very clear you HAD said I claimed to know more than Sharpe. Honestly, I don't think anybody noticed!

If you're reduced to semantics I actually said 'had more info', not that you knew more. Obviously I hadn't reckoned with the bastion of Rovers exclusives and knowledge that is Lancs Live. At least we now know there categorically isn't a sell-on clause ?

There's a promotion clause... but no sell on fee. Promotion clauses could reach £2m, but been categorically told that there's no sell on or percentage of profit sell on etc...

This seems like such a long time ago now ? It's gone from a fact to someone getting very defensive on t'interwebs. Won't question you or your sources again m'lud!

Two reporters, one meeting, two different reports. Not my fault, nor my fucking problem. Reporting to this board what I've been told, if you have a problem with that then that's your own issue.

I didn't make anything categorical, I didn't claim to know more than Rich Sharpe (I didn't bring him up!!) and I certainly don't have time for people like you who seem to want to pick argument over silly things.

Chill Out. Who said you knew more than Sharpe? You need to read posts calmly before you angrily react to them.

You were asked a reasonable question about where you got your info. That was all.

    Lancs Live. Chill out.

Eh? You've stated you had more info than Sharpe so just I was just asking where you got it from? No need to get tetchy.

I'm guessing you mean Jaqob Crooke (I may have spelt that wrong) I'm guessing he doesn't know anymore than Sharpe, and probably a lot less.

So chill out with the 'categorical' statements that aren't necessarily true?

I still don't understand this appetite that some posters have to replace the manager?

You must believe that the current crop or players are good enough to go up? or that a new manager can bring in enough quality on free transfers to get us promoted?

I can't think of a manager that can do either of the above.

Leeds and Sheff Utd fans have probably said similar over the last few years.

"Raya’s form has seemingly not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal and Manchester City reportedly monitoring his progress, with a £10m price-tag mooted, of which Rovers would be due a slice should any interest be firmed up"

Who do you know who knows more than Sharpe?
