That's not going to come along any time soon though is it ? It's hard to see a way forward other than suspending the leagues until such time as a vaccine is found.

The clubs would still have to pay the contracted players. Clubs would therefore still go bust.

Boro have stopped selling ST's as they've already sold 6k and are worried they won't be all allowed in when grounds re-open. Capacity set to be around 33% max at grounds.

    Also:-

"It's understood one Championship club has already sold 12,000 season tickets but are expecting the capacity at their home ground to be capped at 7,000"

    We won't have that problem!

Witty's comment today that we are at the limit of what can be opened up very telling.  I doubt fans will be allowed in any ground this side of Christmas and perhaps for even longer.  Really don't see how Leagues One and Two will operate next season without any income and the cost of testing etc.  I suspect many Championship clubs may find it a struggle over the next few months.  I suspect the transfer window is the last thing on the minds of many clubs at the moment.

The pressure on the Govt to bail clubs out by the Autumn will be huge if nothing changes on the supporter front. The Prem clubs will be fine, but every other club in the country must be in danger of folding if fans aren't allowed back soon. I'm not sure the risks are being taken seriously enough by anybody yet.

10-15 EFL clubs on the watchlist for going bust:-

I worked with one of his old mates, seem to remember he said that they grew up in Rotherham I think and that Sharpe became a Rovers fan because one of the lads at school's dad played for Rovers in the 90s. Can't remember who it was though.

Oh well, I was close! Thought it was Scunny...

Or they are just being honest? Which I hear a lot of people asking that they be. I know you think that the LT just shouldn't report these types of stories, but unfortunately that's not how newspapers work, nor should they.

I mean, it's hardly surprising there is interest, is it? I would be more surprised if there wasn't.

The conspiracy theories are insane. Sharpe is a Rovers fan for a start. The world and his wife know AA is quality and will only get better. There's already been Prem interest in him. But yeah, the LT are trying to bring down the club.? FFS!!

Cover for wanting Williams in the mix instead he's been saying that about Wharton for 2 years now i'm sure he's managed the rough and tumble of lower leagues ok.

Mulgrew isn't exactly hulk hogan and neither was Lenihen at first. His face just doesn't fit for some reason he probably refused some drizzle cake or something.

I'm not sure Williams is popular with Mowbray but agree on Wharton. Something not right because he looked a good player when he played for Rovers.

    Hmmm.

"the 23-year-old could find himself a man in demand this summer" and "A proposed continuation of the five substitutes rule could see Premier League clubs keen to add more attacking options to their armoury."

Things that 'could' happen - is that all this article is based on? Are the LT trying to stir up interest in him themselves?

As the article says, there was interest in him in Jan from the Prem. I'm sure the LT doesn't need to tout him around ?

Was from my mate who plays/played cricket with him - said he was preparing himself for life away from Ewood from what he’d heard from him the last few days. Hopefully he does get a look in for the squad, but seems like he’s getting ready for a worst case scenario.

Is that Salesbury cricket club? I think he's from round there.

Shame if he goes. Mowbray has commented a few times that he needs to 'become a man, physically' whatever the feck that means. I think he's mentioned his upper body strength. Obviously he didn't reurn from Northampton looking like The Rock so Mogga's binning him. I'd imagine the club might regret it but who knows.

That makes complete sense then. Some will have been told to pack their bags...

hmm...I genuinely can’t remember the name of the poster or which thread. Someone will post the link again no doubt once everyone wakes up!

People go to sleep during the transfer window? Lightweights!

The Wharton thing was in here. Someone had a connection to him and said that he was expecting to leave or something similar?

Yeah the LT reported the meetings last week. I forgot. But for some reason I thought they reported those meetings were just for out of contract? Either way, he must’ve had talks with all as he’s been on holiday since, whilst people have been leaving the club.

I think he was sitting down with all the players last week. Obviously why some have started moving on.

Can't remember seeing the Wharton thing yesterday? Which thread? I'd be disappointed if he went, the noises he's been making suggest he's here to fight for his place.

I don’t know...looks like there’s already movement. Platt has gone, White on loan, Rich Sharpe writes most weeks now that Mulgrew is going. Then there was a bit of inside info in here, yesterday about Wharton seemingly readying himself to go.

My assumption is that he’s had a convo with every player at the back end of last week and told them if they’re getting a look in. He’s actually meant to be pretty hard lined in those meetings.

It just feels like it’s all stirring...both ins and outs.

Wharton leaving? Where was this said?

I think it reported in the LT that discussions with players were taking place last Thursday iirc

Posted about this two or three days ago (and named him) and some dismissed as nonsense / random etc.................!!!

"Michel at Auxerre; if correct, think he'd be coming as our number 1"

You did indeed. I hope it hasn't broken any 20 year friendships?
