At WBA he played RB if i remember correctly with the odd appearance at CB. I remember WBA fans thinking he would make a better DM considering his ability on the ball. You can kinda see the logic in that I suppose. I think where he stands out as a CB is the way he can pick a pass through the midfield into the feet of the attackers - that is a good quality to have. At the same time, I am not overly convinced by his defensive ability although it is easily Championship standard.
Him coming back on load would be nice but at the same time, all we would be doing was once again helping to develop another player for another team. I would love him here permanently but that is unlikely to happen.
Edit: Why did the composer of the video leave off his curler?
I think, judging by the music, that one of those gangster rap chaps may have done the soundtrack. It's certainly not the Rutles, mores the pity

Just looking at this rationally what will actually have changed by October? Unless the population is significantly vaccinated by then (highly doubtful) nothing, and with the colder months coming and people spending more time indoors there will almost certainly be an increase of infections. October is likely to be more risky than now which makes this statement bizarre.
I think it's all wishful thinking. For fans to be able to get back into the stadiums we either need
1) An effective vaccine or treatment that removes/minimises the risks
2) Accept the risks of increased transmission and deaths that come with it (which to me seems incredibly unlikely to happen)
I agree. There is absolutely no certainty. Things could be a lot worse by October and probably will be. A vaccine before Christmas looks unlikely, and there's no guarantee there'll ever be an effective vaccine, there hasn't been yet for a coronavirus . The Govt have already decided on No.2. I don't suppose they have a choice because if they leave it any longer there will be no football clubs to support.

I'm delighted they appointed Coyle and took us to L1. We are truly blessed.

If we could have sold Raya, got an equal replacement and spent the money well elsewhere then I'd have been happy with the sale.
That applies to any player.
Unfortunately I don't think we did.
Agreed, but if Raya goes for £10m this summer and we've haven't included a sell-on it looks a really poor deal for us.
Also, from an LT article today:-
'Christian Walton signed on a season-long loan to fill the void left by the departure of David Raya as Rovers failed to attract their top targets who Mowbray envisaged would be an upgrade on the Spaniard'
The real problem was selling Raya before he'd landed his preferred targets. Very unprofessional IMO.

Che Adams got 4 league goals and reportedly cost £15m. Cutrone apparently cost £16m and was loaned out half way through the season after 2 goals. How did Moise Kean do this season? Yes it was a lot of money to us, but the way some speak, you would think we're the only club to not get instant success from our forwards.

When youve played at 3 professional clubs in the top 2 English leagues, and been paid tens of thousands per week to do it, then you can Gallagher isn't a real footballer.
Another example of our wonderful fanbase.
How many goals did our £5m forward get this season?

For all the criticism of players being out of position, Guardiola has made it a huge part of his management. Lahm to cm, mascherano to CB, alaba CB, fernandino to cb. And these are players who were much more established in their 'natural' positions compared to Gallagher
Guardiola just copied Super Atko's reinvention when moving Lahm to CM.
Mowbray would have moved Super Atko to left midfield.

Raya paid for half of Gallagher...and probably not even the good half. That's the real tragedy.

Great shot stopper, but last night shows again that he can't be trusted. That was a calamitous piece of goalkeeping last night. Worse than anything Walton did this season.
Walton used to throw them in his own net.

"ignore" me then if you don't like what I post.
You'll find that football is all about data in 2020, every club is using it to get ahead.
What the data doesn't tell you is that although a goalkeeper may make a save (added to the data) it was a routine save from a weak shot that the Keeper not only failed to hold but palmed out to the feet of the on-rushing striker who scored form 5 yards out. Raya did that the other day for Brentford.

Raya is an amazing shot stopper who was prone to the odd gaff. Walton wasn't even an amazing shot stopper. If Raya had been in our goals this season we'd have got more points.

Playing Harrison Reed at right wing instead of centre midfield was one of the worst howlers I've seen TM make. I never got it.
He did it with Whittingham too. That was an abomination.

My elderly parents have told me they won't be going until there's a vaccine. JWU - ST holders for decades. I'd imagine there will be quite a few in the same boat.

Because the Luton fans are on the crest of a wave having just dodged relegation. A great percentage of Rovers fans are elderly and might not want to risk a return next season.
Indeed. The JWU will be empty next season if the virus is still circulating as it is now, or worse.

How can we sell tickets when we don’t know how many matches will be on offer. Preston sent out the same statement as Rovers yesterday. Clubs like Everton can sell the lot, different ball game altogether comparing to clubs like that, they have waiting lists like many of the big clubs.
Surely it's clubs like Rovers who won't even sell 20% of their capacity who SHOULD have them on sale, and clubs like Everton who will have sold more than can get in the ground that shouldn't?

Flitcroft would have absolutely destroyed Bradley Johnson for being a useless lazy twonk if he played alongside him . That's what we miss. Too many 'good humans' and not enough players with an edge.
