  1. This is going to be a long, nervy watch. Banking on staying tight and not allowing the game to open up too early, as we’ve just seen that they’re dangerous when we’re stretched
  2. Cannot believe that while we were winning a penalty shootout after equalising in the 88th minute at a Premier League team, I was sat looking at spreadsheets in a basement four miles away. What a bloody result, though!
  3. He’s living a few thousand peoples’ dreams and can’t really break above a light jog in most cases. Just strikes me as selfish that he won’t sprint to close players down when he’s sent on to do that.
  4. What does anybody in our backroom team see in Jack Vale? Utterly pointless presence on the pitch currently.
  5. Devastated to miss this but was busy securing the league and cup double at 7-a-side. Thrilled to read the thread after the fact, sounds like a really positive performance. All aboard HMS Piss The League.
  6. Really hope we learn some lessons from this. Fortunate to get away with it. Three/five in the middle is the only way we can support three at the back. He has to see this, the performances were chalk and cheese either side of the change.
  7. Expect a big early push from them here. If we weather it, we could put a few more past them. Least they deserve, hope they end up down this year.
  8. Fairly certain this is what has to happen if a player’s down and looks like they might have been knocked out/have a head injury. I’m not convinced he was knocked out, as he turns his head to watch Dack put it in, but the ref’s doing exactly the right thing there. We want advantage to be played to our benefit but he has a job to do.
  9. Genuinely shocking all round here. A fine waste of an evening for all concerned.
  10. Callum Brittain’s had a good game, as a rare positive. EDIT: Rare in this game. He’s been good whenever he’s played.
  11. We look like we’re holding on here and there’s still 20 left. weird to not let Dack and BBD play together, given they were quite productive last time they did
  12. This is poor. It’s not a disaster, we’re just not close to where we need to be to play this way.
  13. Might be uncouth to say, but I’ve enjoyed what’s happening to Middlesbrough after Lenihan’s “club going in the right direction” comments. Didn’t realise he was so keen to visit League One again, although maybe that’s the “right” level for him, who knows?
  14. Was sold a few by BBD and Ayala and let a couple of ours slide. We’d have noticed it the other way round, for sure.
  15. Incredibly fortunate. Millwall weren’t robbed but we’d be livid about the ref, he was soft on us. Just have to hope lessons are learned for Tuesday.
  16. Gallagher looks short of fitness and sharpness, Dack would’ve been a better option to start.
  17. The militant adherence to playing it out from the back regardless of risk is absolutely terrifying.
  18. Not a criticism, I turned off at 2-0. We don’t recover from there. I think people should expect inconsistency, though. New coach/ideas and young players. Sidebar; what’ve you got against long hair and waxing?
  19. Talk rubbishing JDT 8 games into the league season and with the exodus/nature of his appointment are hyperbolic, but I don’t mind much if that’s what you think. I don’t think any of us expected promotion this year, but I don’t think relegation is on the cards either.
  20. Whole of this performance has a pre-season feel to it. Looks really chaotic and disorganised. Lots of players physically off the pace. Bristol are good value for a win here, they’ve played well and executed their plan.
  21. He’s trying to encourage them to play out from the back, but I don’t think there’s enough intuition among the back four+Kaminski to do it. CBs on the 6-yard line is something I cannot abide, it’s too technical, too %age-focused, especially as with a pressing opponent, it’s usually hoofed long.
  22. Shocker to concede. From progress up on the left to Scott waltzing away from Brereton, Morton and Pickering. Hyam over-committed, but the above is where the major error was. I’d give them a major bollocking at half time.
  23. That move was a lot better. Hirst unlucky to receive the ball slowly, as Hedges does really well to get it to him. Definite deflection. Wells showing himself to be exactly the unfulfilled potential he’s always been tagged with.
