Even though we knew the game wasn't going to be restarted, we hung around on Saturday just out of curiosity. Never been to an abandoned game before I don't think, so it's one for the memory bank. The good news is we hopefully get another home game to go to. It'll certainly be a strange one.

The problem seems to be getting the water into the river when the river level is too high. It would seem obvious to install a sump with a pump(s) close to the river and pump it over the top when needed.

Why would Rovers be paying for Ipswich ?

We sit low down in the JW so it might have looked different from up top, but apart from a couple of slips, the pitch played fine into the second half. I thought the ref was right to start the game, and right to stop it when he did.

Did like the way Miller carried the ball out of defence and always looked for a forward pass. Played a few lovely passes into midfield to turn Ipswich round and get us on the front foot.

The one I always remember was the 3rd round (just checked ) full members cup tie against Oxford. Could hardly see the edge of the Blackburn end penalty box for fog, from the Blackburn end, remember thinking any other competion it would be abandoned. All worked out for the best though.

I'm sure the Hibs fan who got in contact said Miller played his better football at centre half and Alebiosu was the better right back.
