  1. Clean slate, as in level playing field and not starting by having to put fires out with players you've never coached before, i thought that was obvious. Everything this season has been about staying up, I've been saying for weeks that I don't really care if we draw our way to safety. If he fails he fails, but to me he's shown enough know how to certainly be given a fresh start from next season, I don't really know why you would Insist on carrying any of this season into next, hopefully it's mission accomplished.
  2. One out of 14? Come on Neil. We've been in every other game. It's been dull as dishwater and won't do from the start of a season, but all I'm saying is he's surely deserved a chance with a clean slate, now he knows the squad. I think he's shown a bit of nous.
  3. We've lost 4 in 14,that's far from shocking during a relegation battle, given the hand he was dealt. Barring the Bristol debacle, since he came we've conceded an average of less than one per game. To turn Rovers defence into such a tight unit, in such a short time, whilst fighting relegation I reckon shows a fair bit of coaching acumen. Before these last 6 games, many were asking where our next point was coming from, we're now looking like we're going to stay up. He definitely deserves to start next season with a clean slate, he's earned it.
  4. Funnily enough, my mate's dad likened him to Jimmy. He actually reminds me of Bowen at West Ham, he makes very similar runs and scores similar goals.
  5. Brilliant result D L W D L W Considering 4 were away, and we've played Ipswich, Southampton and Leeds, we're actually showing some good form.
  6. They were mainstays of Mowbray's squad, a squad which finished 8th and subsequently 7th. The trouble is that my strongest 11 still has 8 players from Mowbray's tenure. I know there are many reasons/excuses, but the recruitment has been pathetic since Broughton and his extensive new team came on board.
  7. Leicester's problem is that they were already up, or so they thought. They played like they were already on the beach.
  8. Thankfully, last night was out of character with how we've played for the last few weeks. Repeat last night and it will be a similar result, repeat the game before against Southampton and the nerves at Elland Rd might just start jangling. Whatever happens, even if we do lose, it can't be a repeat of last night's surrender.
  9. The financial argument never really added up in my opinion, not when they could supposedly have received £2 million for Gallagher and offloaded the highest wage in the process. Got told by someone who supposedly knows what happened, there was a blazing row at training, Travis told Tomasson to f off and walked off, and the rest is history.
  10. He may yet go but it's unlikely, but if he doesn't I don't see the point in wanting him out before he's had the chance to really prove himself. This season has ended up a disaster, if we stay up, I'd be happy to write it off and see how he does with a clean start. I don't see how he can be fairly judged on this season.
  11. Don't really read them to be honest, not much point whoever is giving them. I don't really see what Eustace could have said last night after that, which wouldn't have been jumped on. I also think we'll survive, assuming we do, if we can't go into next season with a fresh start,he will be onto a loser from the outset. It should be viewed as Eustace keeping us up and starting with a clean slate, but I very much doubt it will, unless we have an amazing start.
  12. All I'd say in his defence is that we all know he has had to start from ground zero. It's our first hammering in 13 or whatever, so he has somehow managed to make us harder to beat (till tonight 🙄). He isn't going anywhere anyway , I'm just hoping he can grind out a win against Wednesday to keep us up. Nervous about that already.
  13. That's a fair comparison, if we lose at Leeds. It just goes to show how bad the shit show he or anyone else would have inherited. It's the longest relegation run in in history, I just hope that the finish line comes in time to save us.
  14. Listened to the aftermath of their game, their commentators weren't as confident as you, they sounded doomed to be honest.
  15. Had a feeling this might come true on page 1 of the comments, just got the score wrong Mark.
  16. After the reaction to the Sunderland result, common consensus on here was that Eustace had our best front 4 out. Got to admit he'd definitely be in my first 11. I think the reply above to your post meant Gilsenan, Eustace put Hedges back in as soon as he was available.
  17. A draw tonight would mean Wednesday and Hudders would have to take 5 more points than us over their last 4 games. A draw to me looks a better result than it did yesterday morning. It does look one of our best chances of 3 points though, which would see us virtually safe. On Leeds, the pictures of the crowd said it all, far from being a cauldron, it looked like the nerves were shredded.
  18. Picking up a draw tomorrow looks a lot more attractive after tonight's results. A win and we must be safe.
  19. Well done Nobbers, never doubted ya😁
  20. If it means they beat Huddersfield along the way, I'd probably take that, it's the best of the 2 options.
  21. You'd expect Leicester to beat Millwall and Norwich to win at Wednesday. I'll probably be able to find a silver lining whatever the result in the Plymouth v QPR game, but it's Hudders at Preston which worries me tomorrow.
  22. All it does is show that the form has been turned around to a degree, but particularly the defence, hopefully enough to keep us up.
