  1. How much were they on? I'd need to know that before I decided whether or not they had earned a rise.
  2. Aye, he did well. I was meaning the overall amount of Championship experience which we've lost, and brought foreign players in. it was a major topic throughout the window.
  3. Had to laugh at the Watford commentary after all that's been said. "Blackburn look like what they are, an experienced Championship side"
  4. I'm struggling to know what your point is. If they wanted to renew contracts, they could've done, they just chose not to . The other argument would be whose decision was it?
  5. Showing the "ability", or knowhow to physically draw up a contract, new or otherwise. They're quite capable of drawing up a contract, if it's to their liking.
  6. You keep on saying it's inability when it clearly isn't. I've never once said they're no good, but it's obvious what has happened/is happening and you just keep on yearning for something which clearly isn't going to happen. As I've been saying for weeks, whether the new process works depends almost solely on how good the recruitment department is . They've got a lot on.
  7. Please tell me you understand the difference between inability and unwillingness.
  8. It isn't inability, they've just signed 10 players, they're more than capable of penning contracts, it's choice. I'd rather they'd kept Dolan in particular, and Britain, although I can't say I let it "worry" me when it's so obvious what's happening. If the personnel and makeup of the club hadn't changed it would be more of a worry.
  9. The pattern will change when it comes to renewing the more recently signed players. They're not going to re sign players on contracts they don't agree with.
  10. They were always signing Baradji, and Travis, by his own admission, wasn't offered a contract. That sorts that out. Hyam, I agree with you regarding the timing , but if it wasn't too good to turn down, why didn't they turn it down ?
  11. Aye, good point. I'm guessing that is where they'd use the selling option.
  12. For what it's worth,in my opinion , Dolan was never a chance, he was always going no matter what. He said he tried to keep Britain, that one upset him. Ismael was always replacing Travis, hence the "what contract?" comment. £2.7 million was simply too good to turn down for Hyam. But it isn't just those 4 that have left.
  13. I'm trying to see it as they are. They're obviously not going to give everyone a 4 and 5 year deal. The players you mentioned, I'm guessing, will be on the lower scale and should be easier/cheaper to renew if they're still wanted. Some players are also just allowed to run out of contract at every club.
  14. By "sort out contracts", you mean give them better terms. It's obvious that wasn't going to happen. I've never claimed Ismael was happy to let any players go, I just said it's a possibility. You didn't even think to consider it an option.
  15. I've no idea if it's for the better, I'm just saying it as it is. it's you that keeps insisting nothing has changed , when you'd have to be blind not to see it's completely different. In their eyes, they're cleaning up the short term/high wage, low profit mess they inherited. Good idea if it works.
  16. It isn't unable, they're more than capable of signing players as they've proved this summer , it's being unwilling. Something else you always dismiss is just how determined the manager is to keep certain players. Britain he definitely wanted, Travis I don't think he was that bothered , and Hyam they received an offer too good to turn down(understandable but timing terrible). Just because you'd keep them doesn't mean they fit the manager's plans.
  17. I was meaning who finishes higher in the league this season.
  18. They've just sorted 10 contracts out, it isn't a case of can't. If players aren't signing then sell them, that much has definitely been learned . Whatever is going on, it most definitely isn't a continuation of the last few years, as you keep eluding to.
  19. He also said we're paying for past managerial mistakes, we can't afford for players who aren't signing to walk away for nothing.
  20. Be interesting to see if he can prove himself better than Eustace this season.
  21. Don't know, but I know we've struggled holding onto even older ones in the past.
  22. Not sure how much choice the club has when it comes kids, someone will know .
  23. I'm not obsessed, I just like to point out how one eyed a view it was about the pairing .
