In fairness, if we're comparing, JE's games have been far easier - and some we should have been winning (teams around/below us).

He's now got plenty of time on the training ground before the next game, against a team full of confidence.
The next few games will give us an idea of whether JE is up to it or not...

To be fair though, he took over a team which was in certain relegation form, which has to be a factor.

We've been through this with Dolan many times over and he keeps getting written off but bounces back however that usually comes after a spell out either injured or dropped.

We do though miss him when he is out for a spell although that is more to do with how weak the squad is than the actual player himself sometimes. That squad weakness though means he and some others can't be managed properly and withdrawn/rotated when they are poor.

I'd keep him on an average contract but certainly wouldn't be throwing big money and 4 years at him.

It happens every time, it seems that it isn't possible to praise one player without in turn slagging off another to somehow prove the point.

Dolan was in cracking form until his injury against Birmingham, from that point we nosedived.

I think you are clutching at straws perhaps due to a dislike of Tomasson.

I dont doubt that Eustace came into far from ideal circumstances.  I also think that Tomasson's time came to an end. But we have seen zero new manager bounce and displayed relegation form in a run of games which has been favourable. It wouldnt be a remarkablr achievement to keep us up considering where we were when he came in.

I'm not clutching at anything, I don't need to,I'm beyond getting emotionally attached to anyone, I'm just saying it as I see it.

We were in a death spiral, Tomasson left and we've lost 2 in 8 as I see it, not brilliant obviously but the way we were playing previously, not too bad.

If you want to quote the lack of wins crack on, I don't really care if we draw our way to safety, we can't afford to go down. I think keeping us up would be a good achievement, you play it down if you want.

our recruitment since broughton and kimberley landed has been truly abysmal, baring tronstadt,it`s been a conveyor of shite, you can`t count smzodics, hyam and brittain ,they were on mowbrays list,i did`nt think much of tony, but credit to him,his transfer dealings were generally good

They've brought in 5 times more staff and done 5 times worse.

"We haven't got a consistent team that are Championship hardened and play week in, week out, especially in midfield, we are very light.

"We're asking players to play against good players and compete for 90 minutes. I thought his quality showed at times. Also, he looked a bit leggy at times which was understandable."

    From LT today

Sounds like JE is making excuses!

What happened to his normal excuse culture

Thing is not one person on here wouldn't agree that we're" light" in every department, never mind midfield. Are we all making excuses or are they factors rather than excuses.

Maybe cut him a bit of slack rather than jumping on every comment he makes. Tomasson  made the same comment numerous times, maybe look back at the responses?

He's already uprooted his family once in the last 12 months, I would imagine with his new role being an international manager with less day to day training ground work and them now settled in schools and playing football he’s not in a huge rush to pack all the bags again — which is exactly why he left the club in the first place.

If I was him I would knock around until the end of the year simply to watch this club completely fold into a standard-less shell of its former self, just to bump into Waggott and Pasha and say “I told you so”.

I'm rather hoping he doesn't get the chance.

He would have taken us into the play offs, and posssibly up last year, with a modicum of backing in January. Before depletion of a paper thin squad through injuries, we were on the cusp of the play offs and playing the best football at Ewood for many a year, this on a financial shoestring. Yes, we were on a horror run but no way would we have gone down under JDT, we would have won matches and finished top half.

We were playing some great stuff and he did definitely suffer from injuries, especially the much maligned Dolan, his injury and Costello was the start of the decline.

I don't share your optimism about turning it around though, I think it had gone too far. We were in a death spiral, I suppose the question is would we have beaten Stoke the next game with him here?

He inherited a team that was pretty much mid table, about 12 points (or close to that ?) above the drop and finished outside the playoffs by goal difference last season

That had won 2 in how long?

Tomasson's last 11 games brought 2 points, since he left it's 8 from 8 games. Maybe not a bounce, but at least there's a bit of air back in it.

We were going down under Tomasson, but at least we knew about the bus.

It’s happening folks - put your savings on us going down because it’s more or less confirmed for me.

Where are the next points coming from. We have well and truely been battered at home to one of the worst teams in the league.

Lack of pace is a massive issue for me and I think one of the key factors to the lack of creativity.

Eustace looks out of his depth which is a shame…He seems like a decent bloke but working with kids and league 1 standard players is only going to end in one result.

    League 1 here we come.

I agree with everything you say, although we should have been 2 up and cruising  before Plymouth got on top.

Been flicking through the match day thread since I got back, and it would appear that if Eustace does actually keep us up after the bollocks he inherited, he will probably deserve a knighthood.

Thats easy to say from the Sigurdsson chance but Plymouth had 2 or 3 big chances themselves in that period. 2 one on ones alone when our CBs had no clue from a long ball. 2 up is blinkered looking at our chances alone. We should have been level in my eyes, as every single stat would validate.

Plymouth had missed one chance at that point , their number 9 put the one on one wide.

Shortly after, Siggurdson missed the sitter of all sitters. What would have happened if he hadn't missed that then we'll never know, but they had only had that one chance up until then.

We should have been beat by 5-6 goals today. Luckily Plymouth couldn’t finish their dinner.

The formation was all wrong as they seemed to have the run of the flanks all game whilst we had 3 centre half’s marking a single striker. The 3 then kept arguing over who was supposed to be marking him and letting him run through.

Total shambles we are going down and deserve it.

We shouldn't, we should have been 2 up and cruising.

Those players can fuck right off.

I had given them a lot of slack in all of this given the off field carnage but I've had enough now.

They are an absolute disgrace to the club. They are the weakest and shittest squad I have ever seen at this club. Now I see it's the fans fault that they are shit. Fuck off you bunch of soft cunts.

I have no time for them at all and their weak as piss cowardly performances and their crybaby antics.

The reason we lose so many games, can't come back from a goal down and are generally shit at every aspect of the game is down to the shit cowardly weak players we have. Fuck the lot of them. They aren't deserving of wearing our colours.

We've come back from a goal down in 3 of the last 4 matches, it's the one thing giving me a bit more confidence we can stay up.
