  1. Glad to see we are implementing the 8-touch Scottyball plan today.
  2. I bet he’s very deflated by the shit players coup. How many chances will he get now from Brittain, Wharton and then Pears booting it straight to opposition centre backs.
  3. I thought he was much better playing JDT ball, 1-2 touches, buzzing around. Now he’s gone back to stepovers, going round in circles and falling over. His interplay with Sammy that led to Sammy’s shot was JDT stuff.
  4. Actually Eustace reminds me of the fella who took over from Iley, John Pickering: decent bloke, fractured squad, no pot to piss in, but not good enough to impose himself on the squad and get enough points to stay up. Unfortunately we won’t be getting Howard Kendall in over the summer.
  5. Under 70s rules it’s offside end of story but then Sammy would never be in the team for getting goals disallowed by being offside so carelessly and so often. The new rules have made players not bother about going offside while making them ridiculously bothered about where their arms are. Madness.
  6. I actually can’t see what Eustace and his henchmen have brought. Less playing out from the back but replaced by long punts to midget forwards. Still individual game-losing errors aplenty, but hey, Brittain and “our” Scotty are happy now because their inability to pass to teammates doesn’t matter to the new gaffer, because he has no playing system anyway.
  7. The clips I’ve seen of Adam playing for Palace made me think we were already holding him back by making him play with donkeys like Brittain and Gallagher. Better players making better runs are already enabling Adam to look much better.
  8. There’s no doubt we play better with a back 4 who play it out from the back, and have an extra midfielder to play it to. JDT had them practise it every day for 18 months, and we’ve seen how crap they are at anything else. I like Bucko but his slowness of thought vs A Wharton is why he takes 4-5 touches before he sees a pass, if he doesn’t lose it in the meantime. He can pass though. Of all Gallagher’s many shortcomings, his stupid runs that offer the passer no possibility of finding him annoy me the most.
  9. Had to laugh at Gallagher being fooled by Sammy’s dummy
  10. I’d give Clive Dunn the hook at HT, get Garrett in front of a back 4. Hyam is just marking empty space anyway.
  11. I’m loving this “no excuses” culture he’s introduced. So refreshing we’ve seen the last of lame get-outs like lads being drained after Newcastle, no time on the training pitch, and the team having to adapt to a new style.
  12. All hail the weakest midfield pairing ever to take the field in Rovers shirts.
  13. We’d stopped playing before their first, they were cutting us open at will. Dolan guilty of not trying to block the shot. 2nd Pears is back.
  14. I’m sure the players do prefer just being able to boot it as it absolves them from taking responsibility, being brave, being demanding of others. Make it someone else’s problem. Lets see what Eustace does next.
  15. Great work by the dressing room spokesman there
  16. Well I’m glad we got rid of that JDT tippy tappy shite and started playing to our strengths - we should be 0-6 down.
  17. Well, if the serial puller-outer of challenges and recipient of dickhead sending offs says everything was JDT’s fault, then it clearly must be true!
  18. Lowe played over 500 games and scored over 100 goals, including a season in the top flight.
  19. I’d put Kevin Moran and Tony Gale in the same category of excellent past-it centre half signings.
  20. I had the pleasure of watching McGuire in the flesh for an entire game in October and he was impressive, easily the standout player on the night. Was being marked by Michael Bradley and made him look a total mug. Gets my vote.
  21. When Saint John Williams was elevated to Chairman he was quoted in LET as saying Tom Finn would run the club day-to-day while JW’s main responsibility was getting the club sold, which means it was him who invited the fox into the hen house, and no doubt got a healthy bonus once the sale completed. A bunch of fusty lawyers in Jersey wouldn’t have known Jerome Anderson from Gerry Anderson.
  22. I totally agree. In fact I’ve never liked him since Burnley away when he let some punk winger get away with giving him the 3-0 sign right in his face. No passion. Today he’s been dreadful.
  23. Hyam again. He was the free man, moved toward the flight of the ball under no pressure and then jumped underneath it.
  24. I saw McGuire play in October against Toronto FC, he looked the real deal all game. Scored a couple, including a screamer, and made Michael Bradley, who was marking him, look a complete clown. I’d be excited if this came off.
