  1. Yes that’s fair Iv accepted the financial side of things more talking from a footballing perspective a player could move to leave one clubs and be better paid than some of rovers players
  2. It’s not a stretch to assume really given the facts Iv just provided about injuries and his trajectory into the team at the time. Clearly a talented lad hence spurs wanting and getting him why would the chances have been slim for him playing here the same amount of times if he’s valued/viewed to be that good a talent and was battling hard at the time to break into the team we signed mcfadz then batth. I’d say it’s a fair assumption he would have played quite a lot of games for rovers. And considering spurs wanted him then before moving actually playing a significant amount of games in the championship and performing then no doubt there would have been more suitors. But when you make a bad move then miss half a season and move to with all due respect Plymouth it sort of takes you out of the spotlight and I personally don’t think his stock as risen that much or he wouldn’t be going back to Stoke with the greatest respect to them. And as for spurs I’d be very surprised if he plays any first team football ever for them so on that basis minus training against Harry Kane for 4/5 months I think it’s been a poor move for him
  3. They need to sign more and there is plenty of time to do so not sure what relevance the bookies have on things though. Outside of parachute payment teams they are guessing as much as the next person
  4. So for the half a season he went without football was that a good thing? I don’t see how it was ready to break into the rovers team he is clearly a talent and given the injuries we have already seen to carter and Wharton there was a fair chance he would have played quite a lot meaning his stock would have risen. Moving to spurs to be pawned off to two relegation teams in the champ I strongly doubt was expected from him/or his agent with the likelihood of him moving on again next summer. So that will be rovers / spurs u21s / Plymouth / Stoke / whoever next in approx 3 seasons some players don’t have that many clubs in a lifetime let alone 3 seasons.
  5. Disagree on the Phillips move was ready to break into rovers team and could have put himself in a position after a year or two for a better move spurs wasn’t the right move for him footballing wise competing with Romero van de ven dragusin dier etc wasn’t ever going to get that chance played half a season at plymoth then one at Stoke financially better off I suppose but footballing wise probably been a small downgrade
  6. That’s why they are best judged at the end of this window but you are right of the season were to start this week o reckon they could struggle but I think they will do more business
  7. This season is absolutely massive for them this window will determine how their season will play out hardie and windass two good signings feel they need more though
  8. Stoke do this every year and every year they flatter to deceive
  9. I wouldn’t say pretty clear because they haven’t played a competitive game for us yet so on paper possibly but in reality we don’t know yet Overall though still no rw in which is a concern for me we still need depth in cm and up top and obviously the contract situation still reeks so it’s not been great overall
  10. The new striker who is already going to miss pre season and likely the first 5/6 games can only imagine the uproar on here if we did something like that
  11. Yes ok i see I just assumed with his initial part saying they were miles off his wage demands why would rovers even be an issue in the first place
  12. Why would rovers be difficult to work with when it comes to Dolan? He isn’t our player
  13. I like Gueye he offers something different but the way Val wants to play from the off doesn’t overly suit him but he can change games is a handful and with a year behind him would like to see what this season brings for him
  14. Gueye - 6 goals this season 4 of them he has started 2 from the bench 6 assists 4 from starts 2 from bench individually he probably excels better starting but the team probably are better with Ohashi starting
  15. I don’t think we’re that bad or we certainly have improved our game management in the last 10mins of games this last season or so think a lot of our struggles recently has been starting games but I do agree there are times where we take too long or when we do make the sub the impact hasn’t been there
  16. There’s now 3 windows for subs and now allowed 5 subs most teams now do subs based on timings in game it’s the way the game has gone most managers look at their bench around the hour mark to freshen things up or change the game. The issue with that is needing a good squad as you don’t want to be making 2/3 subs around 65mins and there’s a massive drop off in quality
  17. I’m expecting it to pick back up once the Spain trip is done
  18. Unfortunately in a world with money driven agents with agendas that’s no longer the case agents and maybe parents too would likely rather see/say their son is an Arsenal player it’s sad but it’s a reality was mentioned on here before we need to sit down with him and get him to commit before we invest loads of game time in him. No point in doing so only for him couple months down the line to jump ship
  19. EJ confirms no change on the Brittain situation nobody has met his valuation have to say the level of sports journalism in general is really poor
  20. Nope just correcting your statement i wouldn’t have a pound to give him
  21. Missed 11 of 37 league games for Dundee with injury also He played 3 games for us then suspended for 3 then played 4 games in a row missed the next two then participated in the next 16 / 13 starts and 3 from the bench then missed the rest of the season pretty much with the hamstring injury Could be unlucky def could changed but in two seasons of senior football with different clubs in different leagues missing 27 odd games over the two seasons with injury would be concerning
  22. It’s 100% on pasha and Rudy Eustace just taking advantage of the situation bit like if we signed a decent sheff w player we’re taking advantage of the shambolic running of their club Val has acknowledged as much about the previous mistakes (no contracts signed) only saving grace (very little tbf) is they aren’t just accepting any low ball payment seems they have a value and are willing to stick to it
  23. I did you said there was no defining way to prove who was the best etc and you were merely taking it on game to game basis and you said beck was miles clear Going by the eye test Which is your opinion I just disagree I think there has to be more defined metrics to warrant ‘best’ of anything
  24. Why wouldn’t he though? batth excellent last year (age a factor could blow up this year who knows) weimann see above brittain comfortably top 5 right backs in the league If I was a Derby fan I’d be asking more of the scouting department and the future batth / weimann / beck all likely to move on next year and they already have an aging team striker signed from America already injured and likely to miss first 5/6 games of the season I just hope there is a bidding war and we milk every last penny out of whoever gets him as it’s clear someone is going to match venkys valuation
  25. That he was our best left back in decades strongly disagree but we’ve moved on from that now
