I don’t think we’re that bad or we certainly have improved our game management in the last 10mins of games this last season or so think a lot of our struggles recently has been starting games but I do agree there are times where we take too long or when we do make the sub the impact hasn’t been there

There’s now 3 windows for subs and now allowed 5 subs most teams now do subs based on timings in game it’s the way the game has gone most managers look at their bench around the hour mark to freshen things up or change the game. The issue with that is needing a good squad as you don’t want to be making 2/3 subs around 65mins and there’s a massive drop off in quality

I’m expecting it to pick back up once the Spain trip is done

Unfortunately in a world with money driven agents with agendas that’s no longer the case agents and maybe parents too would likely rather see/say their son is an Arsenal player it’s sad but it’s a reality was mentioned on here before we need to sit down with him and get him to commit before we invest loads of game time in him. Missed 11 of 37 league games for Dundee with injury also He played 3 games for us then suspended for 3 then played 4 games in a row missed the next two then participated in the next 16 / 13 starts and 3 from the bench then missed the rest of the season pretty much with the hamstring injury Could be unlucky def could changed but in two seasons of senior football with different clubs in different leagues missing 27 odd games over the two seasons with injury would be concerning

The debate isn’t about the player it’s about their rovers career to have a player in your all time rovers team there has to be something to support that for what they have done for the club. Not by their name who or they were in the past or went on to be. Anything under a season doesn’t warrant that

So if a promotion and prem season is a factor then can we say bell has been better than beck then?

My main question is what metric is beck being judged on? games played? Awards won? Clean sheets? Assist? Goals? im genuinely intrigued to know the basis of all this

I don’t or didn’t think Williams was a better ‘player’ as such he was better for rovers based on playing more than 20 games that has to count for something if we are judging players on extremely small sample sizes then your going down a big rabbit hole and I stand by what I said a left back over 100 games with a player of the season under his belt has been better for rovers than a player who started 20 games with 4 other sub appearances overall as a player is neck better and likely to have a better career highly likely but not for rovers

24 appearances is half a season so that’s enough to call a player the best left back the club has had in 15/20 years? Not for me not even close he picked up one significant hamstring injury 3 games suspension for that Preston tramp and missed the start as was a late signing he’s not a sick note (yet) but has had a bad hamstring injury which with players like him could easily flare up again

Yes I believe we have and it’s nothing to do wit the kids talent but player injuries and availability has to come into play when putting across such an argument I also disagree with the later part too what has Ribiero done wrong? Fantastic pick up we can only judge on playing for rovers not on potential and what you might think of him as a player again if we went and asked say a Kevin Gallagher or a David Dunn for talk sake in the last 15 years who’s been rovers best left back I’d be very surprised if either mentioned beck because he played so little
