2025 Summer Transfer Thread. π

He probably already knows he won't be offered anything beyond 12 months at a time so he's thinking ahead, i think that is closer to the truth. -
Brum are on a roll cue the usual derogatory chants from clowns who've never been out of New Street before. Never mind the bods upstairs at Ewood will be delighted and have a line already to spin back to India 'look a 20k crowd' !!! For the record not long ago Brum were averaging about 16k and regularly used to bring sub 2k to Ewood - In the Prem.

Exactly. Re-investing the loose change from his already budgeted for wage on a lower paid cheap player is more akin to how they operate here. -

I think any run of the mill or young manager or head coach will take the first serious job offered to them if they've been out of work a while and aren't multi millionaires. As said it's a no lose situation as you get big rewards if successful and rewarded anyway for failure, many of them are only in it for a wage and because they know nothing else. Whenever has anyone heard of a club never being able to attract a first team boss ? -

A commission generator for the 3rd party in the shadows is one train of thought. -

Yes they absolutely know the risk they are running with this model but it's either they aren't that concerned where it will eventually lead or they have no choice because the finance backers of Venkys are finally saying enough is enough. -

A 'package' of 3.5 mill π€ So it's about 2 million in instalments and a bunch of may or may not trigger add ons then. Still it'll easily cover this summers real outlay. Onto the loan market we go..... -
Their costs have rocketed post covid/Ukriane like most other businesses and it has impacted their profit margins significantly although i think they still corner the market over their across the whole chicken spectrum. Investing in it though is probably a lot less attractive than it was 5 years ago.

Says just as much about this stupid set up as it does about him. -

Pretty sure it's just an AI run account the crap on it is relentless. -
How much is liquidity ? Also they don't put it into Rovers so do they put it back into the core businesses or just borrow more ? To be fair their company credit rating as off last year was still strong but carries the warnings about the volatility of their market, the rise in costs AND it mentioned them still having fund a massive loss making foreign entity ! Oh and the seizure of assets. So owning and funding the football club is now potentially having an impact on their main business if not their overall personal wealth. They've stopped funding it but won't stop owning it.

Definitely no coin coming our way for the bills now then and the push to sell Brittain will ramp up. By the way have Hyam, Travis and Tronstad been offered their contract extensions yet ? Way more to this than the farcical court case and always has been i hope the bank calls in its VH debt !

The postcode thing is bizarre it really warrants further investigation and explanation from those who allegedly dreamt it up. Where i hail from Rovers was always the main team, the 'local' team as Ewood is about 3-4 miles away as the crow fly's and a 15 min car journey straight there. Yet we had a Chorley address and obviously PR postcode but a Blackburn phone code so now i presume these albeit small but staunch Rovers strongholds don't matter any more ? Oh let PNE flog their cheap season tickets around there instead and round up the kids or maybe Horwich Wanderers if they fancy it after they've had free reign over Chorley in recent years. The contempt these lot at Ewood have shown to the general fanbase it's no wonder they get it in return. I'm beginning to think the plan now is to have a very small club very cheap club operating at whatever level it can and that only appeals to those few who refuse to give it up whatever the cost and a 'new' tiny generation of fans from Blackburn. Why would that be ?

At barely 9k ST's they need three thousand walk ups to just hit the hardcore 12k figure before away fans and i can see that being a tricky ask beyond the first game unless the form is good. 12.30 kick offs are the pits.

Yes the priority is obviously pay wages, tax, bills but don't bother too much about team investment etc unless there is a bit of surplus from sales. Chicken industry principles - pre covid/Ukraine - where i presume minimum investment enabled maximum output = big profits from sheer volume of sales. They've been trying to create that here for a long time on 3 year cycles imo. Pity they don'y apply the same idea to season tickets. -
The Β£20 discount for a 'few weeks' was clearly in regard to the early bird Season Ticket. As for the rest i understand your point entirely but stand by my response, it doesn't work to any noticeable degree unfortunately. Yes it would be great for some who intend to attend all these matches but from the clubs point of view it's cutting off it's nose to spite it's face as most of those who want to go will go anyway and just pay full whack. If it could pull hundreds extra in per game it would make sense but it just pisses off season ticket holders most of whom have had price rises. They certainly should try and come up with something though we'll agree on that there are set to be some shocking turnouts and in some cases the away followings will be impacted as well.

Package ticket deals never seem to work here in fact nothing does except proven initiatives like cheaper ST's ( not discount 20 quid for a few weeks) And selected cheaper odd match deals like Watford a few years ago. There's no point in even debating these things the only proof needed is look at the past, look a few miles up the road to Preston and Bolton. Did they ponce about like these lot or did they actually do something and pull back in thousands more regulars despite a slight hit to the income initially ? Why couldn't they do that at Rovers when they've guaranteed 40 million of sales recently !
-
And it seems bussing in thousands of kids last season from a previously disengaged large part of the community has had a real boost on season ticket sales....... π«£

8.7k season tickets is NOT good sales figures it's pathetic.
-
'We have nine thousand who will buy' Except when you whack prices up again and put off another 3/400.

But they already released him once and probably wouldn't go near it again if he wasn't free. Stunning recruitment. -

Good luck to the lad but the Dolan scenario was a once in a generation type thing so any chance of a repeat is slim to non. -
That's been the policy for a decade.

So they are persistently interested in a player with fitness concerns because they think they'll fill another place in the squad as cheap as possible. Pay as you play must sound ever so appealing. -

I think most might say we've over achieved and reality will bite at some point it only takes one bad start to a season and it'll be hard to recover. However to be fair to the squads and past 3 gaffers we always seem well prepared to get stuck in from the off before it all catches up with us again. No reason that should be any different this time although a word of caution good pre season results might lead to a bit of dawdling in recruitment.
