  2. Mowbray or Coyle. Their careers are so similar. Hearts fans used to sing about his having a monkey's head when he was at the Hibees at the start of his career. Started well until he got WBA promoted but failed everywhere since 2008. Main thing for me is we got rid of 4 and brought in 1, huge cost cutting exercise. No-one could succeed at this circus so expecting more failure.
  3. You've got to laugh. Started his career in Scotland, had a couple iof good seasons then came down to a Championship club where he did really well to get them promoted. From then on his career went downhill with several sackings and times out of the game. Has an ape like head. Who am I describing?
  4. Big ask to captain the lot for someone who hasn't captained before. Hope he does well, always co0mes across as a decent bloke. A lot of problems to sort out with the test team though.

  7. I think the lack of conversion cones down again to having too many 1 day players. 70 in an ODI is good, and even in a home test on a green pitch is decent but in India if you get in you have to go on and make a big score. We need to be aiming at 550 rather than 400. Our players need to get into that mentality. You very rarely see Kohli or Pujara hitting it in the air but half of our wickets are caught away from the bat with people trying to go over the top. I think Stokes is our man to attack but put him at 7 where he can just go out and do what he does best. He's another who gets out too cheaply too often to bat in the top 5.
  8. I think when England are preparing for the summer at home they really need to rebalance the side. You can't have someone like Ali at no4. In 2/3 of his innings he's out for less than 20. That is nowhere near good enough. We need 5 proper batters, Bairstow and Stokes at 6 and 7 and 4 bowlers. The selectors seem ntent on filling the team with all rounders but you don't need 6 bowlers to bowl 90 overs in a day. Five is plenty. The likes of Ali and Butler are great in 1 day cricket but I just can't see what they bring to test cricket other than the occasional quick 50. We need to try and find batters who can bat for 3 or 4 hours in tests.
