  1. I'd be amazed if it is as easy in March - delighted but amazed. We've played 11 of 21 league games at home, same as you. Are you suggesting, that we had it easy and thats why you performed as you did? We've lost 2 games so far and both away from home but I'm not sure it is a specific problem but we shall see in the second half of the season. On ticket numbers - you should give whatever you want, it's your clubs call not ours. We gave you the full away allocation we have these days - it wouldn't be unreasonable for you to mirror the number we gave you. As an outsider it's hard to judge but I've seen you on TV twice and you looked decent and you are still third in the league, surely he's not so bad?
  2. Barnes is very physical - but also better than many give him credit for. I’m avoiding saying to much about the game as you guys may well fall out with me. I expected so much more from your team than they brought, perhaps it was fatigue and one thing high possession football does do is take it out of the legs of the opposition. I was happy/disappointed not to see Adam Wharton in the team/squad. I personally rate our midfield vey highly but would have loved to see how they managed him - and indeed he did them. We should have 3 players back after the World Cup, and then a transfer window to survive (good chance Jones recalls Tella I think). March will be far more testing for us I’m sure. Frankly you cannot be as tame as you were in this game.
  3. Couple of things to bear in mind - Sheffield was our 7th game in 21 days, it was preceded by 2 late comebacks, we were tired and really looked it in the second half. We may have looked out for the count but we still won our next 2 games pretty easily. Sheffield also had players who were able to capitalise on our frailties and brought some fight - you had neither fight nor the right players on the day. I’m hoping we repay Sheffield United on Easter Monday - perhaps you will repay us in March.
  4. Afternoon all. My customary quick visit post match. Hard to argue best team won on the day, you don’t win games with one shot in 90 minutes. Quick word for both sets of fans who observed the silence absolutely. Enjoy your afternoon, I’m out for a few drinks, will read through the thread later but will avoid comment more for now.
  5. I knew that lad - I reckon he sh@ when he saw them two approaching. Can’t say I blame him, absolute beasts. Good to see the old bill getting in on the badinage:
  6. 2002 - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/3065935.stm The lad also breached his order weeks after getting out of nick: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/864245.football-fan-killer-back-behind-bars/
  7. I've let myself get carried away havent I
  8. Looking forward to it - genuinely think it's amazing for us both to be doing so well and competing in a top of the table clash. We both hate to hear it but we have more in common than seperates us - and frankly I've lots more respect for a Blackburn fan supporting their local team than a City fan wandering around Burnley
  9. Decided it would be better to not comment
  10. The bubble was probably simpler - https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/content/information-ahead-of-blackburn-fixture And more here: So any of you hoping to meet me for a pint post match will miss out 😁
  11. Absolute bollocks - still by all means enjoy some vinegar with the salt on your chips.
  12. Bleeding heck lads I’m supposed to be on a timeout but can’t ignore some of the saltiness. Firstly couldn’t go tonight as I’m man down with COVID - really floored me as well - so watched on TV. The issue with the 10 minutes isn’t that ref gave it - they had the trainer on half a dozen times, plus subs and goals etc, the issue is that to often refs don’t give it. We got 9 given against WBA for a lot lot less. The red was a second yellow and a stupid challenge. We shot ourselves in the foot for their goals but created more than enough to win 2 games. Finally great teams play to the end and get their rewards. This team is slowly beginning to look half decent. That said I thought Rotherham caused us problems. Short turnaround for us now - think we will struggle to get a point on Saturday. Our game should be high scoring, we will give you plenty of chances so the question becomes can you stop our forward players.
  13. I’m going to take a few weeks off here now - I’ll make a brief appearance post Derby, as is custom, I just pray its as a victor not the vanquished/
  14. Go with @sympatheticclaret - he’s far better at these things than I am.
  15. Cork was a game suspension for 5 yellows. Cullen we are led to believe was a bit of a knock picked up in the Sunderland game - missed last 2 though. Ideally we’d have both in for the game against you, need our best 11 at their best.
  16. No excuses, we need to beat you. Have you? Conceded more than us and scored less all the same. Let’s see how they cope with our pace and running from Tella, Zaraoury and Benson - not forgetting our wing backs of course. Mind you we’ve got the small matters of Rotherham and Sheff Utd first - with a short turnaround between those two making Sheffield and even bigger challenge than it already is. Not unlikely by the time we play you’ve overtaken us in the league.
  17. My biggest fear is a weak referee who doesn’t punish your relentless fouling
  18. Anyone, on either side, honestly expecting an easy win is an idiot.
  19. You were saying? I’ve read it on here a few times.
  20. What I said was no one I know - I think up the clarets is clarettony’s mob. We’ve given ourselves a shot at promotion so far, as have you. Top 2 after 18 games is a decent place to be - and as you guys are expecting an “easy 3 points” from us you should be above us come the World Cup break. This was a bit beyond the normal - he literally clamped his arms to his side by getting him in a bear hug from behind.
  21. Also should have mentioned the stonewall penalty we didn’t get when their player simply wrapped his arms around Harwood-Bellis at a corner.
  22. Yep - for 60 minutes neither side deserved a win to be honest. Last 37 we earned it but also got lucky with that one. It’s bollox and not a fan I know thinks this isn’t the one. I do think it’s marginally less fevered since we ended the run etc but it matters more than any other game - well to me at least. Not sure it will be easy but certainly more than possible. We were missing both Cork and Cullen yesterday. We can cope without one but struggled with both our. Scrappy wins that we ultimately deserved though. Rotherham on Wednesday then Sheff Utd and you. I’d take 5 points if they were offered now.
  23. They did well against us and easily earned their point. They didn’t seem to tire either! Not pretty but powerful, fast and hard working. On another day they’d have beaten us.
  24. I disagree and - I can't believe I'm saying this - it should be awarded 0-3 in your favour as that has always been the scoreline for abandoned games. It's an absolute joke of a situation and, whilst not the fault of the fans, it definitely is the fault of the club AND the football authorities who have allowed this festering situation to exist in various forms for a few years now. The schedules are always packed in this league and the world cup has exascerbated this. Those clubs impacted by Coverntry's failure to host games are put at a disadvantage.
  25. 😂😂😂 - all the fingers it would have eh.
