  1. Here in peace. All things are possible, but happen less and less.
  2. But are they in a row? Each draw happens weeks apart. Im not even sure if your number stays the same throughout 🤷‍♂️😂
  3. But isn’t every draw independent of the previous one? Sure I read some interesting Derren Brown stuff on this.
  4. A danger of administration apparently- https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11873261/amp/Sheffield-United-introduce-extraordinary-cost-cutting-measures-avoid-going-administration.html With all due respect you also don’t have Foden, DeBruyne etc etc. If you watch part of our issue today was in every position their players were so much better than we face week in and out we could get near them in the press - and even if we did they had the quality to brush us off. I’m not saying you can’t learn something from today but for me the way you played against Leicester is what you should be looking for to beat us.
  5. I appreciate you enjoyed it however the gulf to city is immense but to say Palace or Wolves etc? I don’t believe so. of course it is tough for any promoted team but I don’t think City are where you survive or go down. Go up, get recruitment right and you’ve got a shot.
  6. They’d have still beaten us 🤷‍♂️
  7. I know BUT I hate to call it until the fat lady sings. For example Sheff Utd might yet get a point’s deduction this week. Once it is confirmed I’ll celebrate.
  8. We just don’t know how else to play - and I’d rather lose 5 or 6 having a go than how we have in recent seasons sitting back. If I have a gripe it’s in the keeper choice. Muric’s ability to play across the back etc is so central to what we do. All that said with the squad we have, the mood City were in I doubt anything we did would have made any difference. They were comprehensively better than us. Very few teams in the world have that quality. Going up doesn’t worry me so much, there will be 12/13 teams where we can get results - though I still expect we will be in and around the bottom 3.
  9. No surprise today, they were just too good. First half they were subdued but still got 2, second half blew us away. Class all over the pitch but Haaland, Foden and DeBruyne were unplayable for us. Thankfully if we go up we will only have to play them twice.
  10. Caught some big uns with this one 😂 https://media3.giphy.com/media/tIk1NLkHzKYBboNhnO/200.gif
  11. I did think he’d once played for you but they don’t mention that in the article so I was probably mistaken 😉
  12. Nah, City will be three up inside 45 minutes, they usually are against us.
  13. Craig Bellamy on us ‘buying the league’ and a few other things https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11873743/Vincent-Kompany-speak-language-football-says-Burnley-assistant-boss-Craig-Bellamy.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailsport
  14. To beat their record we have to win 8 of our last nine, including an Easter double header against Sheff United and Boro as well as the derby against you. It’s just too big an ask. I’d settle for 100 (which I also think we will fall short of, need 6 from 9) and become only the sixth team to get 100 plus. I don’t think that Reading season gets the credit it deserves. 106 points is phenomenal.
  15. The London pull opens up the player pool though. IKompany is clearly someone who is very ambitious and will have a clear career plan. I would imagine Palace would look like a good next step - I just think (hope?) it’s a season and a bit too early for Kompany.
  16. I saw some figures the other day on what various teams had spent historically in a single season, many spent more than us for finishing in the lower reaches. Money is an important part of the mix but so is management, coaching and recruitment. See above. Lest we forget Watford and Norwich came down, same terms as us, kept most of their squads together and, so far at least, have had disappointing seasons. WBA borrowed 20 million to maintain their expenditure level, again pretty average season. For the record, to me at least, you have to break 100 points to be one of the Championships best ever. I still doubt we will reach that. Still, we are no Fulham eh 😉
  17. Cheers - I'd seen people talking about this number but hadn't seen anything official Do you mean the Burnley fan and now King Charles?
  18. Hark, is that a stone I hear being thrown in the greenhouse? https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2300340-leeds-nottingham-forest-blackburn-hit-by-transfer-embargo-by-football-league.amp.html https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19457536.blackburn-rovers-placed-transfer-embargo/
  19. Ahh the famous ‘tickets in the home end brigade’ If I recall correctly around 10,000 Rovers were in homes seats at the turf last few meetings and a similar amount in the home ends at Ewood. Has the allocation even been confirmed yet? Yep - and in our case the rule says if you are late submitting accounts you can’t register new players - I suppose we could appeal, appeal the appeal and then go to arbitration …
  20. At this point it is merely late submission, not a problem with the accounts. Of course once fully submitted- and the club claim this has now been done - there could be issues with the accounts but at this point there is no suggestion or accusation of financial improprieties. I have a couple of limited companies. On occasion we’ve been fined by the tax man for late submission. If that is all it is, delays as a result of change of accountant (auditor) then nothing to worry about. My concerns are why are we changing auditors at the end of the cycle etc. If there is anything more to this we will soon know. All that said some of the desperate attempts on here to suggest a points deduction etc are quite funny - if they took the standard 12 points for admin we’d still be top of the league 😂 & if they took an unthinkable 20 we’d still be above you.
  21. It is the club who have announced it. looks like it’s about submitting accounts. This is one of the things when you start having complicated ownership structures. By design they are at best opaque IMO but here we are. I’m sure the paperwork will be resolved before the end of the season.
  22. Lord knows how we will survive until May without signing anyone.
  23. Be reight- Burnley are massive and so are some of our fans https://twitter.com/JJWatt/status/1634285614718767113?s=20
  24. He didn’t say it on MOTD, just his personal Twitter - like many other BBC employees such as Andrew Neil 🤷‍♂️
