I know I've mentioned it before on here, but if you're looking to keep track of the Empire 500 (and any of the drier lists where half of the films are pre-1960) then check out the excellent http://www.framerater.co.uk/ (I'm tilt if anyone wants to follow me).
Next on my Sky+ is Singing in the rain, which I have to be honest, I'm not looking forward to.
Another Pro Tip if you're a Sky user doing one if these lists, their "never miss" feature on their website, which emails you when films of your choosing are scheduled to be shown, is a great way of saving money renting old films.
Nothing wrong with musicals Glenn as long as there is a decent pliot and storyline to go with it, it actually is a very very good film and up there with My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Rocky Horror and The Sound of Music in my book.
There is something little camp about watching them these days because "they don't make 'em like they used to" but the classics will always be the classics.
Check out "REPO! The Genetic Opera" and tell me if you think there is anything camp about it. REPO!

Last movie I saw was "The Box" with Cameron Diaz. It was a total waste of money...
Shows what ahppen when you try and draw a 15 minute short story to a full length feature film, go watch the Twilight Zone episode "Button, Button", it is much better

"England is in the World Cup"
You would never use "is" to describe a club team so why does it suddenly become acceptable for a national team?
Unless it was literal
I don't think it is that large in reality though...

I agree Neekoy. Like 2005, he'll win it with someone else's squad and then proceed to sign 300 average players and leave Inter in a mess. Rafa is tactically rubbish. Plan A is to have 2 holding midfielders, two crap wingers who are probably out of position, and hope that their striker and attacking midfielder can create something. There is no Plan B, C etc.
Inter have really messed up.
Don't forget he also took over a Cuper side at Valencia that had just made it to two consecutive CL finals.
-
Serie A is more tactical and technical than the EPL,So he'll do a great job at Inter.Serie A suits all his strengths.
And he'll be working for a proper chairman,and not a couple of cowboys.
But he is really not that tactical, I have NEVER seen him outclass a top line opposition Manager with tactical ability. PLAN A give it to Torres or Gerrard is not what I call genius.
Knowing his track record though, he has ONCE AGAIN inherited a capable trophy winning squad so he will probably go and win Serie A and all the scousers will be up in arms while they are getting kncoked out in the second round of Europa Cup.

For Robin Hood watch Prince of Thieves!!
Not a massive Russell Crowe fan to be fair, but this seems an attempt to make the character a bit more gritty and menacing, ala The Dark Knight and Casino Royale.
The growing trend of everything trying to be like the Bourne trilogy is getting tiresome, characters like James Bond need to be suave and slightly corny not menacing and rigid.
I thought they were just trying to get back to the orginal character of Bond as was intended in the Fleming novels.
Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe = GOLD

Leon wasn't as big in the States (was actually called something else). Shawshank is one I just never got around to seeing.
Not quite living in a cave, as I've seen more than half of the top 250.
It was called The Professional

The door is open for the treble now and another trophy in Mourinho's bag

I think you are being overly harsh on Rooney there and making him out to sound like some goal-poacher. He can score goals from pretty much anywhere, it's just down to the role that he is asked to play. At the moment he plays up front by himself with attacking wingers, which means he has to take up a very forward position. In previous seasons he has been able to drop back into midfield and pick up the ball and has scored some wonderful goals as a result of it.
They are both fantastic players and offer something different, but you can't definitively say who is better between Ronaldo, Rooney and Messi in my opinion. Each is a little bit more suited to different leagues, styles of team play and the role that they are then given within that team. I'd love to see Rooney play in Spain against defenses that back off a bit more and don't go into the tackle as hard, he'd thrive as all attack-minded players do. Say what you want (and we've had this debate before), but Messi wouldn't be QUITE so effective in England. He'd handle the physical game well and would be in the elite group of players in the league, but if you want to show off an attacking game it is always best to be on the continent.
BBBUUUUTTTTT......
It can't be argued he has had his best season this season playing in exactly that role, until this season theere was no debate over who was better so I don't think I am being harsh.
Yes we have had the arguement before, like Tevez, if he can handle the physical nature of the PL he will handle the defences.

Messi's four foot nothing. He's not strong at all, he's just quick and nimble on his feet. Rooney is very quick too, he's not just strong with 'impeccable timing' whatever that means.
Messi is very strong, you obviously don't watch him regulary at all. Once Rooney starts doing some of the things Messi does, game after game, year after year I will hold him in the same light
Rooney scores goals by being in the right place at the right time, watch his goals, he comes from no where right at the right moment, he has impeccable timing in the game. Pretty simple really.

Rooney is not as creative and Ronaldo lacks the "strength" to compete against tough defenders.
Rooney may have great strength and impeccable timing and C Ronaldo has tremendous foot speed and goal scoring abailty but Messi is the only complete footballer out of those three.
-
He is definately a once a generation player, you could confidently put him in any team in history and feel he would be class

I'm going to stick my neck out and say it is by far the best film I have seen. Titanic (James Cameron's previous work) is a VERY close second. But second nonetheless. I think Avatar is THAT good.
The best? Even with a slighty dodgy storyline? I understand the 3D is amazing (going on weekend now inital hype has died down) but the best? Come on now.

I ahve alwasy been a big supporter of Benni but he is lazy, he has ability but if someone can't pick themselves up in a world cup year and play with all thier heart then they are no good just sucking wages that could be given to Salgado.

Reset the table to a 1-0 win to Liverpool in Lyon.
Lyon Pl4 GD+5 Pts 9
Fior Pl4 GD+5 Pts 9
Lpol Pl4 GD-1 Pts 6
Games to play
Fior v Lyon
Deb V Lpol
Lyon v Deb
Lpol v Fior
Assuming the Hungarian lose the last two games, then Liverpool would have needed a favourable result for Lyon in Florence. If Fiorentina win that one Lpool have to beat Fiorentina by 3 or more or else they are out because Lyon are ahead on the head-to-head and Fiorentina are ahead head-to-head.
And considering Lyon have now automatically qualified you wouldnt expect them to take a full strength side to Florence.
I am praying for them to get done 1 - 0 in Hungary

Spider man 1 - 2002
Spider man 2 - 2004
Spider man 3 - 2007 (that one was awful)
Batman Begins - 2005
Ok Iron Man and Dark Knight were 2008 but we are at the end of 09 now and not much seems to be in the pipeline.
There dosent really seem to be much out or on the way of what I would call a big film.
Eh?
Iron Man 2 and 3, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, The Green Hornet, Spiderman 4, Thor and Deadpool are all currently underway with a shedload more in 2012
and you've had Hancock, The Incredible Hulk, Watchmen, The Punisher in the last couple of years plus a couple more I know but can;t think of.
We are being very spoilt at the moment.

* 01 Cavalieri,
* 12 Aurelio,
* 37 Skrtel,
* 28 Plessis,
* 10 Voronin,
* 19 Babel
That was their bench for tonight. Worrying times to be a Liverpool supporter
TBH, all the above do come with reputation, high potential or proven ability. Plessis, Babel and Cavalieri were highly sought after young players, Aurelio was excellent at Sao Paulo and Valencia, Skrtel was a standout for Zenit and Voronin scores goals in Germany for fun.
Benitez is just @#/? and a fraud who wins trophies with other manager's team.

Pretty clever, there is a 30 second bit that I had tears coming down my cheeks

Never watched one - it would annoy me no end and would probably make me feel queasy.
Did you get queasy in the city fight scene in Transformers? imagine that for 90 minutes.

This is supposedly the best indie-horror since Blair Witch.
I wanna see it.
Kinda of getting sick of jumpy hand held cam movies now though, Cloverfield, [rec] and recently District 9 now we get another one.
Too much reliance on the medium to create fear and the story generally suffers
