  1. allardyce deserved th bullet on his transfer dealings alone that beye fella is average at best but looks like a world beater compared to the other shiite he bought! A decent manager would'nt saddle himsellf with mercenaries like viduka and smith on their wages for long contracts, that alone is gonna screw the club for years to come whoever takes over. When newcastle eventually get a manager with sense the likes of those 2 will never play again and will be to them what ostenstad was to us and bogarde was to chelsea! for gods sake no to the fat crook!

Seems to me Newcastle actually started winning when he brought Viduka back into the team

  2. What the hell is wrong with having a big bloody house, if I could afford it I would put a friggin theatre and indoor swimming pool in as well.

It is not about ego, it is about comfort

FFS some need to get a life. Compare his house to any other multi millionaire and it probably pales in comparison.

  3. I have a new one for me, watching Macca's Monday night and listening to him and Les Ferdinand prattle on about Newcastle and Tottenham being massive clubs in the "Premiership" and next year should be challenging for CL football.

They then mentioned Sir David and said "yes he has signed a new contract recently and seems happy but without any disrespect to Blackburn they are not a glamour club and are midtable" suggesting a move to Newcastle or Spurs was somehow going to increase his chances of playing for England and competing for titles.

2 points from a european place Stevie? Where the (Please don't use that word again) are Newcastle and Tottenham (barring Spurs inclusion for Worthless win)

  4. Rooney had to drop deep because there was no creativity coming from the midfield, symptom I suppose of playing 1 up front without a genuine 'fox in the box'.

England could have got in behind the French defence a number of times if they just had someone to hold the ball up (not crouch for god's sake however some of his first touches were surpisingly good)

Problem for England is if they sacrifice one of the two holding midfielders, they have shown defensively they can be taken apart by creative midfields and fast strikers.

I think they re going to have to get their penalties in order for major tournaments because I can see from tonight a lot of 0-0 or 1-0 losses.

  5. You guys must have been watching different game to me. I though beckham was class and showed again that there is still no one in the English team that has his passing game, Some of his crosses and distribution from deep was sublime.

Bentley was ordinary, not because of an impact but because of the first ten minutes of him being on the feild running around like he was Robbie Savage, why did he push Malouda to the ground? Brainless stuff especially with someone as cuthroat as Capello is on discipline.

I thought Rooney tried very hard, Hargraves and Barry played extremely well however I agree the England central midfeild lacked creativity however they did dominate what was a French midfield with no bite.

Ribery looked lively for the French, Cisse and Anelka looked very dangerous and Trezeguet is still overrrated.

All in all a pretty dour display from both teams with neither really dominating up front.

I thought it was a much better England display, they held possession, defensively against such a strong attack (admittedly no Henry and Wes Brown was pants) they were solid.

They only thing England missed was a creative midfeilder but I don't think you have one of quality to be able to put in so it is just going to have to be down to effort and heart.

  6. I say "off with their heads"

I am with Phil, execute drug dealers and even if this is not a deterrent for some to become drug dealers, they are off our streets.

This kind of relates back to the capital punishment thread of yesteryear, punishment is punishment for crime not designed as a deterrent.

It is a deterrent for me, but I have a job, pay taxes and an underlining obligation to do the 'right thing' for society in general.

  7. It happens everywhere, Scott McDonald (leading goalscorer in SPL) has pulled out of the Aussie squad after suffering a calf strain, seemed to be running around fine and scoring goals on the weekend against Gretna.

Like with all of these injuries to players looking at friendlies it will be miraculously healed by the wekeend.

  8. the dewey cox movie made me split my sides laughing

    oh.....

Maybe my expectations were too high, Anchorman was one of the funniest movies I have seen, Talledega Nights made me chuckle but I just couldn't get into this.

It wasn't slapstick, gross out or clever, it maybe could be classed as parody but I found Walk The Line to be boring and sleepy so maybe I missed the point.

I am normally quite in for low brow, can you give me some things you found side splittingly funny Abs?

  9. If you think Meet the Spartans was bad wait until you try Walk Hard:The Dewey Cox Story.

I normally make myself sit through movies even if I don't like them just so I can give an honest opinion however I just couldn't do it. The worst movie I have seen since Cannibal the 'doco' about Armin Meiwes.

On a brighter note I also saw Tau ming chong (The Warlords) with Jet Li. Brilliant, imagine Braveheart except with no humour and based in Qing Dynasty China. I will say again, Brilliant.

  10. Neekoy, Nelsta,

I have no problem with you not liking "Juno" but I think you may be possibly mising the point of the film.

I think it was to point out that becoming pregnant aged 16 need not be the end of the world. It can have a happy ending for all concerned. Which the film did. (Damn, given away more of the plot!) To expect an unhappy & miserable ending would defeat the whole point of it all.

I'll agree with you that Juno did have a rather snappy & clever way of expressing herself, which the character didn't necessarilly need to do, but if she wasn't that perky then the fim would have been rather contradictory in that Juno would have been a bit thick, but the plot would have depended on her being pretty sharp.

Anyway, each to his & her own. If you didn't like it that's what you didn't like.

I've ordered the soundtrack, 'cos I thought it was great.

If you like that soundtrack then you should get the Napolean Dynamite one.

  11. Me & my 12 year old daughter went to see "Juno" today.

I don't think I've been so moved by a film for ages.

Basic story is a 16 year old gets pregnant and works out what to do next....

You can probably find the story on t'net, but if you're intending to see it I suggest you don't cheat.

It's lovely, witty, moving, funny, and has a happy ending. And the soundtrack is fabulous.

Plus - if you want to introduce a 12 year-old in a bit of sex education, pregnancy, & giving birth* what better way.

*OK, obviously not an abortion. Sorry.

I guess one man's honey on bread is another mans piece of ######.

I found it unplausible, abnoxious, annoying and downright stupid.

It was painting by numbers on what is deemed to be the successful 'indy pop culture reference' flick.

Juno was an annoying git with her 'that's like soooo deep' humourous quips where she makes GenY look even more pathetic, name dorpping of bands to seem cool and the oh oh oh look! SHE HAS A HAMBURGER FOR A PHONE! HOW RETRO!

Basically a 16 year old gets pregnant and works out what to do next.....

Let's give the baby to a family I found in the Town Shopper!

Happy you liked it but what it needed was a tragic ending for all involved.

  12. I thought Juno was pretty good, nice little film. Really dsliked 300 and Zodiac though, so probably just very different tastes.

Wasn't a huge fan for 300, but not ONE nomination, not even for the computer generated stuff, which even if you didn't like the movie was pretty top notch.

I don't Zodiac should be nominated for best movie however some of the acting was certainly worthy.

  13. Carson's poor performance cost us a place in Euro 2008. One goal was the difference between us in or out of the tournament and a well paid, skilled professional player conceded that one goal that my Grandma could have kept out.

No, Englands dismal qualifying campaign cost you a place in Euro 2008. Carson made one mistake, better keepers the world over have made the same or worse.

  14. For the record, there are no Brazilian teams playing in the Champions League and four English teams registered 100 players between them. I am surprised the number of English players is as high as 45; are there any English players in the Rangers or Celtic squads?

Knowing Platini he probably thinks Scots, Welsh and NI are English.
