JDT must sign off on them though, otherwise the whole thing is unworkable.
But then again .... 🙂
Yeah, exactly!🤣

Another one of these geezers in the shadows, collecting a pay cheque and keeping his head below the parapet. Almost like tomasson is his patsy.

I'm hanging onto some hope that, given a transfer window or two, he will find more suitable players.
In the meantime, he has to be more pragmatic, foresake his philosophy, and play to our limited strengths.
My faith is wavering though, and as MattyBlue said somewhere else, things could unravel quickly.
It's Broughton who finds the players though

You wouldn't start Kane?
I must admit, mason mount don't know what it is that he does. It's a bit like James milner for me, how does he get played?
I thought Henderson played well in earlier games, but last night... Didn't really notice him.
But like say, how many different managers have we tried over the years. Capello,I mean you're talking about one of the all time great managers, he couldn't manage it. Although I think it would be interesting to see what he could do with this current group

Gutting but proud of the effort. Better team won in the end but there was very little in it. They gave it a good go and this feels very different to Croatia and Italy.
Re Southgate. Think it’s unfair to reduce the argument to the fact we haven’t won the three tournaments under him and therefore he should go. We weren’t strong favourites in any of them and he took us much closer to a win than anyone expected.
Put simply, he got a lot of big calls right this competition. Took flak for Maguire but he played well and got most of the selections spot on.
I’m not sure that a different manager would have got us playing much better than yesterday. This French team is better and their quality ultimately made the difference.
Their quality up front, plus a referee who seemed out of his depth I think was the difference. Seriously, that was a clear penalty and what is the point of VAR if they don't see that.
But we lost, and even if we got the penalty, we may still have lost, although presumably in extra time.
I don't see the point in getting rid of Southgate. Everyone was on his back after the nation's league. We don't have a an automatic right to win just because we're England. We've tried all sorts of managers over the years, but have continually fallen short.

Well I can't argue with that

I think when they get rid of a manager it has nothing whatsoever to do with results.
If you criticise them in any way, you're on borrowed time,I think that's the more likely situation.
What you have to hope for is that he gets frustrated and starts publicly criticising them. I thought right from the outside that this first team coach, director of football set-up was a mistake. If results go badly, tomasson can blame it on the quality of recruitment, and Broughton can blame it on the coaching. It's all about getting your excuses in and building up your pension pot.
On this current trajectory, Burnley are going to whip us. That may be enough to make him walk unless he had a thick hide, because he'll have lost the fans then

Highlight of the match for me was just now when I said “FFS Mola, you’re fucking shit” and Sky apologised for any offensive language immediately after. Didn’t think I’d said it that loud…
Pall Mall Gazette noted that their followers were "a northern horde of uncouth garb and strange oaths".

Yes, absolutely…we are planning a short-sleeved version next year (ready for summer holidays perhaps 😎) & as part of that run I understand that we could add further long-sleeved products.
We are also trying to work out what other products we might be able to sell without breaching copyright laws 😉.
A white shirt with a blue Maltese cross on it? (rofl) The centenary shirt?
Perhaps not.

Am I right in thinking that Big Kev had been a top level gaelic footballer prior to becoming a football player, or am I mixing him up with someone else?
Yeah, he was a GAA man for Dub.

Was talking to an Irish mate about Kevin. We agreed he was as hard as nails. He played a major role in getting Rovers out of what was the old second division.
I think we all remember the goal against Derby in the play-off semi. For sheer bravery, it's difficult to match. I think he was one of those players that had great assurance in his play, you never worried about the man.
Two points: - am I right in thinking that we signed him on a free transfer? If so, have we ever made a better free signing? And two, have we ever had a harder player? John McNamee perhaps?

Jezzzus it's going to be one miserable month or so on here with no rovers games or even a transfer window to give us something legit to go on about.
If we'd have ended on a high it might not have been so bad but the pish poor performance against The dinglets has left the flood doors open for the miserys on here to take centre stage.
Lets just forget were in a strong 3rd place and have spent most if not all of the campaign so far in the top 6.
The tactics might not be pretty but for the most part they have been relatively effective, although when they fail it becomes a 💩 show. Kind of similar to Allardyce to me in that he set the team up to make points playing in a very specific way and he looked at the bigger picture not just one game.
Who's being a misery?
Sunday was a depressing experience, even if I wasn't able to see the game. I can't understand what the manager's up to, but what do I know? It's not like I have any influence on it whatsoever. Not beating Burnley since 2010 though, that stings.
Question for Jon -- if I give you the money, can you make Venky's sell up? Ta.

Losing 1-0 at home to Leicester in our promotion season was painful to watch. I can still see Russell's goal in my mind's eye, Bloody agony.
For some reason what really stands out is the image of some young lad stood on top of the railing at the top of the stairs to see the game. I remember thinking if I tried that I'd break my neck. Funny the things you remember.

I remember being at a game at spurs, can't remember which year this was.
Souness on the touchline, immaculately dressed. For some reason the expensive brown shoes stick in the mind. The decisions weren't going our way. Christ, did he ever go mad. He was seething. The crowd responded with due appreciation.
SOOOOOOOOOU-NESSSSSSSSSS!
Most of our managers party venkys looked like they got dressed in the dark. Bowyer wore a suit, but he really did look like he'd been down burtons in a sale. Souness though, wow. You could tell he'd lived in Italy, put it that way

Amazing days. Before things went a bit south, I always felt that we were in safe hands with him, particularly that he was someone who really understood the club. There was no fear of him taking the derby lightly. Here's how the BBC reported it at the time:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/677027.stm
"Graeme Souness is precisely the man we need and he can count on our full and unswerving support," Walker said.
"There is a big job to be done here and I believe we have found the right man to do it."And also here is a quote that I remember him making at the time:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2002/feb/24/sport.comment1
"'But this is a proper football club because of Jack Walker, it is not a club that relies on its share price, it is not a club that sold one end to a supermarket.'"
Now compare and contrast to the absolute sh*tshow we have had for 12 years or more. Owners who won't even come to the games any more, they certainly don't bother issuing statements. Managers who couldn't care less about the club, and can't even be arsed to hide it (I'm looking at you, Mowbray).
I miss those days in so many ways. But most of all, I miss us having an owner who cared, and knew what he was doing.

Wasn't Gary Blissett once in trouble with the law? I remember him having a 'tache, the two things are possibly connected.

Half-decent Beamo in there. Imagine how hard you hard to spank that thing to get it over the bar.
Loved the kit too, proper jerseys with collars.

Can't see anything other than a collapse here.
Nothing is ever guaranteed, I may get a pleasant surprise. Just like I may win the lottery. The suspicion persists that the manager is undergoing some psychosis where he sees actually playing well and so persists with his gamelpan. Just about everyone else apart from the ring holders hanging on for their pension can see it though.
The club is a basket case in a false position, and a freefall is imminent
