  1. it all goes in the players pockets in the end, the club won't see any of it ...
  2. I can't answer your questions about "certain things" because I've not seen anything to say that Savage knew details of any salary package in advance. Maybe it got lost amidst the welter of comments from Mr Sullivan getting all bitchy and tarty. Whatever's gone on, I still think that Sullivan has made your club something of a laughing stock. Is this media-campaign meant to persuade Savage to stay?! It might be a "big" club but its owners are mickey mouse.
  3. Hardly looks like conclusive proof to me. I don't think anything underhand has happened, in any case, certainly nothing untoward that you wouldn't expect in any other transfer. The only thing I see is David Sullivan bleating to the press in an undignified manner. When Liverpool continually tapped up Duff did we complain? No. There's nothing to say that we have tapped Savage up anyway.
  4. Did you actually see him play then, rover6? I'm just puzzled because you seem to be speaking with such authority. If he was muscled off the ball by Cardiff players then clearly he is still off the mark with his conditioning. You cannot regularly expect to make even the bench if your conditioning is not up to scratch. Apparently Emerton was ill yesterday, which is why Pedersen got his chance.
  5. 3.5M is way too much. Contrast that with Bruce who's been mouthing off about witholding Savage's wages if he refuses to play. Bruce really is a dream come true for Sky - a headline whenever he opens his gob.
  6. Weren't there rumours that Dunn is only a couple of injuries away from being finished? Could well be twaddle. As for Damien Johnson, the only time he ever beat a man was for pace. if he got closed down he ran out of idea turned around and passed it back down the wing. Always.
  7. The whole thing's geddin on me doo-dahs now - I do wish it'd get sorted one way or another.
  8. Another three weeks yet, up to Brum whether they want to pay someone over the odds for the next 3.5 years just to play reserve footy, or whether they take a reasonable fee. For all their loud-mouthed posturing I think they will take 2.5. Savage has now burned his bridges at Birmingham, I can't see any way back, and taking 2.5 and re-investing that has to make more financial sense than having an asset useless to you rotting away for at least 4 months. What will his transfer value be in May when he's not played in 2005? One thing's for sure, if they do take 2.5 they'll look bleeding stupid, after more about-turns than Tony Blair.
  9. How about Graeme Souness?
  10. Cracking quotes from Bruce in today's Mail: What planet is Bruce on? Has he only just got to grips with what a transfer request is? Fancy the very thought of a player not wanting to be at a club any more - that stinks! It's disgraceful.
  11. Whether or not he plays in the FA Cup, I think he's on borrowed time at Ewood.
  12. OK, OK, it was a good yard! I couldn't be assed to edit it! Surely you could have some sort of sensor beaming across the goaline with something meshed into the fabric on the ball, and then you wouldn't even need videos.
  13. Good bleeding gawd! Are these chaps for real? That looks a good foot over the line.
  14. They're juts looking daft now. There's no way Savage is staying, he'll go eventually, whether to us or elsewhere ...
  15. I take it all back - let's see Rovers go on a long cup run and watch Mrs American gerrem off! Yesh!
  16. Hell hath no fury like a woman with the hump. "Elephant Jan"!
  17. Quotes from David Gold: Looks like he's disappointed then!
  18. He'll go to Everton if they're interested, they have much more dough than us.
  19. Hope we lose against Cardiff, don't need the distraction of a cup run.
  20. Well done that man . Why should he be intimidated in a public place in to giving money ? Maybe he's already donated anonymously from the privacy of his own home . Either way , if he's a taxpayer then he's donated in any case . Charity contributions should always be voluntary. I don't have much time for these chuggers in the street who "just want a few minutes of your time", get knotted! Shame on him for eating at McD's though.
  21. Yep, we're absolutely desperate ... but it's the hardest position to fill, especially on our budget. I don't mind Dickov, he runs all day, but it's clear his finishing isn't the best, I think that's clear to everyone.
  22. That's a similar headline to "Trouble in Middle East"; "Frenchman piddles in street", or "AESF chunters on". You could leave the planet for 6 months, come back and see that and think that nothing's changed!
  23. It's a shame a global fund isn't organised for this sort of thing, and each country can donate equally, weighted for GNP. Or is there such a thing already? And I know you're not having a go at me American, all I've done is point out that at one stage the British people had given more than it's govt (a lot more!) I think that's shameful.
  24. Yes. I was never his biggest fan, and never wanted us to sign him, but I do now. He gives us bite in midfield, and as chris says, he can score goals too now. When did we last score direct from a free-kick? If he's average then I'd like a whole team of average please.
  25. Haven't you done enough religious points-scoring?
