  1. I thought our passing was brilliant at times yesterday.
  2. No, he'll put Thompson out wide. We'll still in schtuck and need geezers with experience willing to fight, not a Norwegian fairy.
  3. McEveley has made what, two appearances as Hughes has struggled to find a back four permutation that will stop us conceding. Whereas the middle four largely picks itself due to some excellent performances. Can you see a possible connection between why Pederson can't get a game and McEveley has been able to? Bimey this thread is a fifty-two page joke full of CM wannabes who want to see someone different in the shirt. Just for the novelty value.
  4. McEveley has appeared regularly in the first team? A regular appearance rate of 1 game per 15 or so ...
  5. With all respect to Mo Camara, I think he is being a little naive. Maybe he should talk to John Barnes and his black predecessors who were subject to 5,000+ making monkey noises and throwing bananas. Surely the situation wasn't improved by "ignoring it." It has taken many years of work until football has reached the stage where 2 idiots make the news at Ewood for making monkey noises. It didn't happen by itself. Mr C: I know what you're saying, but a slight misrepresentation there. John Barnes has maintained that he'd never react to the cr*p he got because he didn't want to dignify it. He also said being racially abused is like being bitten by a shark, no-one knows how much it really hurts until it happens to them, they only know that it hurts.
  6. Does that make his opinions invalid in some way? It's another one of those circular brfcs arguments. Right-wing nutbars on one side, those with a less emotive view on the other.
  7. Paul Dickov may not be the most gifted of finishers, but I am very glad we have him. Undoubtedly we would still be on the bottom if it weren't for him. Things appear to be looking up for us. We were lucky to escape with a clean sheet, and should've scored more, but there's been an obvious improvement under Hughes, and we just need to sustain this now. Brett Emerton for one is unrecognisable. I wonder what part Mark Bowen has had to play in this improvement?
  8. Now I'm puzzled. He has to have a german bodyguard?
  9. "Burn" is Scottish for River or stream. "Black" because that was the colour of whatever stream was running through Blackburn in the dark ages. Hence Blackburn, look it up in the Doomsday Book if you don't believe me (if you buy it sdon't forget the amazon link on the shop page). That's why there's also a Blackburn in Scotland, no doubt.
  10. This thread is warming up a treat. Not going anywhere at all, but I can't stop visiting it. Someone help me!
  11. Don't know what unis you've been to Phil, but as I understood it: University Rule (UR) 1: Do as little work as possible, leave everything until the last minute UR2: Get maxed out on debt, spend it all on booze. Don't remember any Nazi stuff during my time there, sorry.
  12. Sorry, I have put my handbag down now, I am calm. Zen. I was trying to think of an analogy for this "Must vote Sherwood as I have not seen Forrest" syndrome. Maybe saying who was the most war-like leader, Attila the Hun or Tony Blair. Well, it's got to be Blair hasn't it, I never saw Attila in action. Plus civilization was different then, innit? Whaddya mean, history books? Schmistory books!
  13. Nothing much before I read FLB's testimonial, before that I had voted for Latheron. And yes, I was well aware of him before this vote was started. Should we make this the "Greatest Rovers Team that We have Seen" then? Remove Bob Crompton and stick Lucas Neill in. Any other of your mates you want voted in? Maybe Darren Peacock because he is "experienced"?
  14. That's what everyone's doing, otherwise Brownie and FLB would not have been invited to produce testimonials. Or should we just pretend that football was invented in 1960? Wouldn't that be so, like, convenient?
  15. Well, quite clearly, we don't know exactly what his qualities were, you have to judge things on balance of evidence available. But clearly you've already done that after a careful and considered analysis of both careers, judging by the derisory way in which you refer to a major figure in the history of Blackburn Rovers. Pathetic.
  16. Kicking? Nah, probably just hit them over teh head with a Linux Box

  18. Would you be happy for 3000 fans to ogle her jugs and jacky?
  19. He might do if Hughesy was in the dock! "You have been convicted of teh grave offence of taking casual clothing seriously ..."
  20. What makes you say that Hughesy?
  21. Maybe the vote should be closed when we reach the same number of votes as we got in the first vote, ie 180?
  22. Didn't Wham sing "Chant No1"? Or was it Spandau Ballet?
  23. Maybe it's just a little deeper than you think. WE've already paid 2.5 mill for Pedersen, I doubt the fee will double if he plays 10 games. I'd imagine (and note I don't claim to know, or even have a shrewd "really I'm a bit of manager-on-the-sly" take on it) that Hughes is trying ot protect the guy's brittle confidence. Maybe he's waiting for us to be winning in a game, so he can give Pedersen some time on the pitch with no bad consequences?
  24. Preview tape of Sky One's new program ... Tough Cops and Bent Slags Ruck It Out in Britain's Hardest Car Parks.
  25. Who nicked them? Regan and Carter? I hope they had back-up! "Bosh! You're nicked slag, get yer trousers on!" I don't mean to demean the weight of any crime that has been committed, but the reportage of this incident ... you'd have thought that Bin Laden had been spotted having a lard pastie in the Darwen End. Hysterical tabloids ... as ever.
