Conway Twitty - " It's Only Make Believe ".
-
How good is Bowies new album? not bad for an old man, and the way he kept it out of the press was genius.
I've never been a fan, he just doesn't do it for me.

Buddy Holly - " True Love Ways ".
-
The Showmen - " The Wrong Girl ". I play this for my wife from time to time. The lead singer later formed the more successfu Chairmen Of The Board.
-
" Dirty Water " - The Standells.
60's U.S. garage band. Their " Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White " is worth a listen as well.
-
" When You Ask About Love " - The Crickets.
It's not always 1964 in my house , I'm a big Jam fan as well.
-
The Marvelettes - " When You're Young And In Love ".
-
" Knock On Wood " - Eddie Floyd.
-
" Seems Like I'm Fixing To Die. " - Country Joe and the Fish.
-
" I'm Sorry ( But So Is Brenda Lee ) " - Marshall Crenshaw.
-
" It's All Over Now " - The Valentinos. The young Bobby Womack is on this one.
Hi Audax, yeah " Little Red Riding Hood ", I love that one , I still play it all the time. That bit were the wolf howls and then pretends to be a sheep always makes me smile.
-
Curtis Mayfield - " Move On Up ".
-
Hi FQM, yeah " Sign Of The Times " , good record, you don't hear it much now.
Back to the game. A bit of a cheat. Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds - " Out Of Time ".
-
Joe Simon - " Step By Step ".
-
" I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down " - Sam and Dave
-
Bessie Banks - " Go Now ". The original ( and for me better ) version of the old Moody Blues No 1.
-
Tim Rose - Morning Dew.
Good choice of the Bobby Womack number earlier Patrick, it absolutely makes the opening scenes of " Jackie Brown ".
-
Willie Tee - " Walking Up A One Way Street ". One for 60's soul lovers as usual. His " Teasin You " is also worth a play.
-
Clarence Carter - ( Making Love ) At The Dark End Of The Street. The first 4 minutes of this is a pretty boring rap, then right out of the blue Carter kicks off into a fabulous version of the of the old James Carr soul classic. The last 60 seconds make it worth a listen.

Oh No Not My Baby - Maxine Brown.
-
Ride Your Pony - Lee Dorsey
-
One Fine Day - The Chiffons. Carol King wrote this one, her ' demo ' version is pretty good as well.
-
Chuck Jackson - Any Day Now. Another U.S. classic that did nothing in the U.K.
-
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
