  1. Mowbray's not infallible otherwise he wouldn't have signed Caddis, Gladwin, Hart, Harper Etc.
  2. That MJ Williams who was released by Liverpool that somebody on here mentioned the other day has gone back to Rochdale. He was on loan there last season.
  3. I think what we're talking about is players who didn't reach the heights that were predicted for them when they first started out. I think you could class Heskey in that group although he had a good career. Having said that he seemed to find scoring against Rovers easy.
  4. I think you're right. He reminded me a bit of Devon Malcolm the old England fast bowler. He was playing against South Africa and at the time there was an unwritten rule you didn't bowl bouncers at tailenders who couldn't bat. They ignored that and bounced him a few times, they may have even hit him with the ball. He was still livid when he came on to bowl. He really got his mad up and bowled faster and more direct than I ever saw him bowl before or after. He gave the South Africans a taste of their own medicine and just blew them away. But he had to get mad first.
  5. O'Sullvan did nothing at Rochdale apart from getting sent off. I don't think he did much at Bury either.
  6. If he's starting games obviously we won't have signed anyone better. Not a pleasant thought.
  7. I'll wait whilst have seen us play a competive game. I've seen us talk a good game and then roll over when the whistle goes too often.
  8. If Conway is a regular starter next season I'll eat my hat.
  9. I'd be worried if it was Johnno.
  10. I hate to say it but Dyche has a terrific record when it comes to signings. Not many flops and quite a few players that have turned out to be outstanding signings.
  11. Yeah ? We've really missed your insights into the comings and goings at Ewood.
  12. More attention seeking ? Haven't you got a fence you could creosote ?
  13. All managers live or die by their signings.
  14. Simon Ireland was another who just fell by the wayside.
  15. Big Sam on the way back ? We could do with a no nonsense centre half.
  16. " Private Eye" had it best with it's front page at the last World Cup. The England team are filing down the staircase onto the Tarmac. The pilot has opened the cockpit window and he's saying - " Shall I keep the engines running lads ? "
  17. With a bad injury like that half the battle will be in his head now.
  18. He'd walk Into this team at right back. Another Red Rat I thought was in for really big things was Wes Brown. I know he had a long career at a good level but when he first started out at Utd he had it all.
  19. I remember seeing Emile Heskey as a very young player at Leicester. He was awesome, pace and power in a young body. He was running through and over good centre halves. I thought I was looking at the next Shearer. The older he got the worse he got.
  20. Yeah and if it had have been Lowe some people on this site would be telling us " Give the lad a chance, he's Rovers through and through ". I'm just hoping the new signing isn't Antonnson. Then it really would be " head in the gas oven " time . I try and be objective watching the team and individual players. I haven't got blue and white eyes when I watch a game. I watch both teams and I take it all in. I'm never happy with the status quo, I believe you can always improve on what you've got. Even Shearer could have been better on his left side.
  21. Let's hope whoever it is has a bigger impact.
  22. Not every old player is good coaching material. Some aren't good communicators and some expect too much from less skilled players. Nothing I know about the Conway situation leads me to think coaching is on his agenda.
  23. It's not my idea of a joke.
