  1. Yep thats. it..there are plenty of signs and direction arrows along the way but a few missing ones that leave you guessiing at times..best down load the route if needs be...than rely on totally on the signs The guided ride every month end from Witton is a watered down Pleasington avoiding version of it .Cos of the climb up Long Road from Pleasington,do it clockwise only if superfit;Anticlockwise for mere mortals..
  2. Having completed Blackburns Weavers wheel would warn that it bears little resemblance to the Guild wheel and is much more difficult.and hilly although 8 miles shorter.but it is however just as enjoyable. It is not a ride for anyone espec with anyone with roaming kids or no road riding experience. 70% is off road through woodland or on safe cyclelanes but there are many sections on it where your must ride alongside very very busy traffic. and cross busy junctions The route clockwise takes you from Pleasington to Billinge up past the Clog &Billy or vice versa anticlockwise(a much easier Option).Oxygen needed if you attempt the ride uphill from Pleasington ..Vice versa you get the slog up Blackamoor Road past Walkersteel later .. It is for a very enjoyable route but not one for absolute beginners..Best bits are1.Intack to Shad on the wooded cycle path I never knew existed 2.;The wooded path follows the ;River Darwen behind Ewood park;3.The canel path:to cherry tree 4.The views From Pleasington the Billingeif you manage the hill;:the ride through the very posh Beardwood area Until the Blackamoor road has a proper cycle lane to protect you don't take young kids on that part
  3. Support Blackburn and Stanley but Rovers come first when home fixtures clash. 10 years ago I needed a strip for my old mans five a side team in Manchesterr ,Not prepared to soil myself like the others were doing by wearing a Utd rag bought a stanley one .A fan since. Stanley like us lose many of their best players seasons end . Coleman is good at replacing em spending next to nothing.. ..Its a great talent he has.. Think its is promotion if they win the next game..
  4. Done Guild wheel many times;mostly on group rides .which I go on each week...those miles posts are the dangerous part..one of our group rode into one chatting..wrist break/ambulance job. .There will be guided rides of Blackburns own Weavers wheel on Sunday in 22April and 27May & 24 June from Witton park Pavillion..10.00am .They hire out a few bikes too..
  5. Any newbies or "i'm back on the bike after years "cyclists like Mike E may be interested in the new WEAVER S WHEEL route coming soon to Blackburn..It copies Prestons Guild wheel idea of a safe cyclepath which gives you a lap of the town..I think the Blackburn one its about 13miles or so.. https://www.bwdconnect.org.uk/travel-choices/cycling/weavers-wheel/ Im doing a run of it to see how much has been built so far.. Try the Guild Wheel Preston too for a similar ride.but its 20 miles + to do all of it...
  6. Selling their two best players each season and replacing em with cheap options ,We ve seen what happens there.if you dont buy quality.. they soon will be a joining us in the lower leagues..espec if Dyche gets sick of it and walks.Expect Burnley are on a bit of downer , seeing best players Keane and Gray go.(ironic if they now go for Rhodes!)....A good hiding first at Chelsea + No goals against West Brom..and then...... ...
  7. Nice prize on offer if you familiar with Manchester s Real XS.who I listen to on my commute to Manchester each day...Played a lot of requests for me in the past so happy to give em a plug http://www.xsmanchester.co.uk/win/world-tour-part-ii-sabbath-in-prague/#TfGuiQbwtwaalMTH.97
  8. Yep ..The curse of third spot(stanley fourth) having to play in the playoffs...Looks like Brighton have it too..7th in the league wins the prize...Reckon its a pressure and stress thing..Third place licks their wounds, 7th cant believe their luck so enjoy the moment...Promotion favourites Portsmouth(cos they reckon they would have filled Wembley) have been tonked..so anything goes.in these games...It aint over yet though..should be a good game on Wednedsay so looking forward to it
  9. Coming soon ..The Rovers.sitcom...A bit like Early Doors...More Accy Stanley than us though(well not yet anyway )....Might turn out good. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/rovers/
  10. Oxford & Bristol will spoil the party if Stanley just draw they both win...(both at home so very very likely)...Oxford have Rovers ex Appleton as manager..Oxfords Match with Wycombe is another Chelsea Spurs affair. but its at Oxford..They are Wycombes local derby rivals and its a grand day out for Wycombes fans if they can stop Oxford going up even though theres nowt else for em to play for, this season.., Our Mess is not Accys fault and Im one who believes, the more local teams in our division the better..Local teams are good to go to for away games..so I m all for Stanley coming up and then again season after..
  11. Most the nation have suddenly become Leicester fans for this week so Don't see why anyone should cant support Stanley on their own day in the sun.next week..if only for a day ...Accrington have another Leicester like scenerio .Just as Chelsea would love to finish off Spurs for them ,Stanleys promotion spoliers Oxfordsfinal game is a derby gameat home with wycombe who hate them with a passion and would love to help out Accrington Victoria hospital is just 500 yards away from their ground so .Special Cardiac unit on standby.next .Saturday.as the news from other grounds rolls in . The Burnley derby is spoiled nowadays but generally ,local teams in the same league with grounds cheap and easy to get to for away games is a plus point not a negative...Hope Stanley can join us one day in the Championship,,but not in Leaque One...
  12. I have a soft spot for Venkys.too...Its called Morecambe Sands though.....The Stanley story shows how important is that you have a manager and coaching team who gel..The last couple of years before Colemans return were not that sparkling....
  13. You can follow both teams.....In the Conference days saw Dunny there many a time in the past with his once then Emmerdale girlfriend.even though he was playing for us.......Theres no real money in the club so how far can they really go..without it....Consequence of reaching the plays off last time...half the squad poached by the higher divisions.so heartbreaking for the fans.,so let everyone enjoy the moment.....Confident Rovers can be contenders again one day.and they will always be my first club....
  14. Im afraid you suffer some of the same frustrations at Stanley as is starting to happen here....best players go at the end of the season.so the club can pay its way but manager coleman seems one of the best at replacing them.......its amazing really how he does it..
  15. Rovers come first and always will but watch Stanley also now and then .(as does/did Dunny. He should have gone there after Rovers)).At this moment, not for anyone with a dodgy ticker..Can draw against teams teams you expect to beat.then beat a top one. Also play with a we can score one more than you so just score as many as you like approach.so tense to the last minute...I Predict a scary roller coaster watch .. ...Its all about your season being still alive and being a contender for Promotion or the plays offs.even if you dont make it in the end.what the hell...Wish it were the rovers in this position.but this has ended far to soon..this year..
  16. http://www.boltfest.com/ Use to enjoy August Matthew street Beatlesfest..espec Bank holidfay monday for this type of thing..Some tributes can be as good as the original
  17. http://www.goskyride.com/ Spring now coming up..Anyone wanting to try safe and easy guided bike rides for about 2 to 3 hours can try these....
  18. Stanley is where Dunny should have gone..after Rovers
  19. Next gig for me ..Heart at the apollo.. Anyone listen to classic rock radio station real xs manchester...? .Listened to it drivetime on my daily Manchester commute but its been re branded and the format changed....not as good in my view...
  20. Sorry to hear the Vermillion fell short.but if you pay top price you deserve top quality..but my £14 Sunday buffet experience swings it the other way..For me Chinese and Thai are all about bargain buffets and the fun of shared banquets ,Few provide value for money if you just pick from the main but all will have that one special dish that hits the button. Experimenting is too expensive to find out what it is..
  21. Theres no lights on the xmas tree mother -Sensational Alex Harvey
  22. My invites to the Vermillion have all been freebies of one sort of another so If you pay main menu prices then your expectations will be higher.. Love it when I get invited. Its part of a seafood import company. Its restaurant supplying Cash & Carry warehouse open to the public next door and worth a look.if you ever go in the daytime.. Open when Sunday buffet is.on...
