  1. Add Stoke to that list. They always spend money.
  2. Forget the parachute payment teams - you look at WBAs bench compared to ours. It's like playing with one hand tied behind your back. They've just brought on 3 players that would easily start for us.
  3. "Spend money on the playing squad".
  4. Is it? They've run off JDT and Broughton with zero budget in 3 transfer windows (something like £20m in the black). It would be peak Venky's to give Eustace and Waggott £7m to spend.
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68649991
  6. It's got a Five Guys and a Wagamamas though, so it's got more going for it than some places.
  7. Stuart Webber it is then.
  8. I think he's absolutely finished at this level - and was last season too. Will have to drop down to L1 and be a talisman off the bench for someone if he wants to continue playing professional football.
  9. Gone, yes. Bad mouthed the club on his way out and stated he was joining his new club purely because they were offering him more money? Unlikely.
  10. You wouldn't talk ill of them to potential future employers though.
  11. I hope they give Gunn a medal when they get promoted. He literally gifted them 3 goals.
  12. So why do you enjoy watching England lose if you don't subscribe to the notions of nationality?
  13. Yep, I'm sure Leicester wanted to lose 2-0 at their promotion party.
  14. I imagine quite a few of them won't want to play in League 1 so will kick up a fuss.
  15. There's definitely value in signing Championship calibre players that can sit on your bench - we lacked even those last year. With money so tight though, you'd much rather focus on signing players that would improve the First XI, bumping our current starters to the bench.
  16. They're strangling the life out of this club. I just don't get it 'cos it's an expensive thing for them to do. Is it pure spite cos someone threw a snowball at them? £200m and counting.
  17. Szmodics will be on his own timeline. He'll be pushing for a move as soon as possible. Like selling A. Wharton days before the January transfer window slammed shut, they'll be happy to oblige because they'll only be bothered about the money coming in.
  18. It'll at least be until August before we contemplate spending any money - with the excuse being they have to wait for the court case. Obviously by that time any cost-effective deals (including the premium free agents) are off the table and you're scrambling around for the last of the loans and overpriced players. Assuming any funds are released. I personally can see us living on the Szmodics / A. Wharton / Phillips / Kaminski / Raya money for a long time as it all gets swallowed up by running costs.
  19. Broughton didn't own the McGuire transfer. He saw the reaction he got by being the only professional in the room by taking the flack for the O'Brien / Brierly transfers failing (which weren't his fault). He kept his head below the parapet like the rest of the cockroaches this time.
  20. He should probably take a more hand-on role on the commercial side, 'cos the club is dying on it's arse.
  21. So back to the days of washed up players like Murphy getting a nice retirement fund then. Lovely stuff.
