Honestly I swear that's happened every single match for years - probably since BBD left (not that he was fast, but he was quick enough). I know teams advance scout obsessively and look at the metrics, but it always seems to take them some time during the match against Rovers to go "ey up, they've got no pace, let's push up". To be fair I think the problems started occurring after half time when Gueye was clearly out of steam. He was stretching them before that.

But we know we're not getting that.

Wonder if they've had a word with him and said "look we can afford one or two more that will impact the starting XI, or four or five bodies for the squad" and he's chosen the former.

Fair play to whoever's leading the recruitment at the moment - Gueye, Ohashi and Weimann have all hit the ground running (the first two being a damn sight better than anything we had upfront last year). Imagine what we could do if they bring in an equally good LW and GK...

Travis was good again today - got around the pitch, broke up play and didn't give the ball away. If you just ask him to be a nuisance and only play the way he's facing he's effective. As much as I liked JDT he definitely arrived with a system and stubbornly tried to fit players into it (and to be fair I think a good number of players massively improved under his coaching). Eustace seems to have designed a style of play around the players available to him. He's never asked Travis to play on the half turn.

Looks like O'Riordan started for Cambridge United too.
