Personally I thought Buckley bossed it when he came on. Travis was neutered by that soft yellow card, but didn't play poorly by any stretch of the imagination.

Well we played 3-4-3 with no CBs that can push on (ala Sheffield Utd at their pomp) and (for 60 minutes) 2 WBs that offer very little going forward. So the midfield was overrun.

I don't know why he stuck with the same side considering he used no subs on Tuesday. Morton and Dolan, especially, were poor today. Brittain offers far more than Carter going forward too. I'd have started the game with Buckley, Hirst and Brittain for Morton, Dolan and Carter - if he insisted in sticking with the same formation. Ah well, it is what it is. I didn't expect anything special this season, it's going to take some time to repair the damage Mowbray did.

You need attacking FBs to play the 4-2-3-1 he wants to play too. Unless they think Batty is the real deal and they're just waiting to bed him into the side I can't understand why they didn't sign one in the summer. Pickering and Edun aren't good enough.

I think Hedges has played much more than JDT expected. He clearly has the best football brain in the side, but yes his brain is faster than his feet. He's a solid player at this level, but shouldn't be a star for you.

He's not learning his trade, he's 23 - he's about as good as he's going to be right now.

We're 10 games into the season and Tues was the first match where JDT had an actual choice on who to start / bench and omit from the squad. 3 matches a week has been brutal on our small squad.

Both of Pukki's goals tonight were from chances that he simply doesn't get in the PL. They're too positionally aware to allow him THAT much space and too athletic for him to do anything with the space he does find.
