  1. IV's the best of the series.
  2. He provides decent cover for the centre half position, nothing more, nothing less. If everyone is fit he's probably the last centre half to get picked (depending on how good this Samba lad is). Assuming it's not a large contract, I can accept this move by Hughes. I'd much rather have an experienced international back there than a kid from our underachieving academy.
  3. Robbie Savage had a monopoly on any free kicks requiring a right foot. Strange as I've never thought he was that effective with them. Bentley has probably taken over this role with Savage's broken leg. That's a shame as Emerton looks like he could be useful from set pieces.
  4. Erm....Hughes didn't want to sell one of his better players?
  5. Who's the third? Dunn and Derbs is all I can come up with.
  6. I disagree. When he was loaned out to Burnley (after his disagreement with Souness) he looked a class above in the Championship.
  7. Not according to this.
  8. It's nothing serious, apparently. Jogged off.
  9. Who isn't a boyhood Liverpool fan these days?
  10. Can we just have a minutes silence in respect for Peter Harrison, Lucas' agent. £60k a week and the option to walk away for nothing if Wham get relegated. Bravo sir.
  11. Rumour has it Avram Grant, the Israeli coach, has been lined up for the job.
  12. Well let's put it this way, we're struggling to get £2m for Neill - a fully fledged international with 5 years of Premiership service. Yet people here are desparate to splash out £2.2/5m on Dunn - one of the biggest crocks I've ever seen. Both have 6 months left on their contract, both are of similar age. I for one am glad Hughes is letting his head rule his heart.
  13. I thought that kind of behaviour was reserved for 'hillbillies' and the like. Guess not.
  14. 2nd time we've been screwed by Wigan then. Still, can't complain with the 6 points they've handed us this season.
  15. He has pace, that's always something to get excited about. He also seems to be an intelligent footballer. That said, he's missed two sitters for the seniors. Still, you have to be in the right position to miss them. We think more of him because he's an academy player. We've had absolutely nothing come through the system for a while, so we're grasping at straws.
  16. I was dissapointed he couldn't outpace the Liverpool defender (his name escapes me) and ended up being brushed off the ball. Still, he's young.
  17. Ain't that the truth.
  18. My dad made the comment a few years back - Emerton isn't actually Australian. Sure, by birth he is, but the way he conducts himself on a football pitch is at odds with how Aussies play sport - just look at Neill. That said, he's done well at right back this year. Though I agree he's a liability in the air, and he loses his man too often for my liking.
  19. He was crap today mate. Not the best game to pull out a shot at the fans who dislike him.
  20. Why, cos he's black? Hopefully he's good. The academy needs to produce a first XI quality player sharpish to warrant the outlay.
