What if they offered us Van Hecke as part of deal with Brereton going the other way? I know BBDs value is high at the moment and BB could be back anytime, but I worry that’s if a massive gamble replacing his 20+ goals. Without his goals last season, we’d have been in a serious relegation battle.

Premiersports had BBD up front with Vale, Dolan and Gallagher(!) on the left and right wing. You’ve got to hope they’ve predicted that as that’s where Mowbray used to play him and he’s actually up front. I don’t rate Gallagher at all, but he’s shown very occasional glimpses that he could be useful and maybe the new manager can help him find some form.

Signing Ayala on those wages was a joke, no value for money. Giving Gallagher a new contract should was gross incompetence. Mowbray was puddled. I found Nyambe utterly frustrating; he’d get you on your feet flying down the wing, then pass it backwards or lose the ball. I think he got one assist last season. Defensively he was pretty steady though.
