  1. I was tempted to do the same! Might not have been as bad as I feared then, but his goals almost got us into the play offs and could quite easily be the difference this season. It’s a stick or twist situation. We could keep him and get possibly into the play offs, get promoted and then it’d be more than worth losing the ~£15 million, or we could finish mid table anyway and lose him for nothing. Shit or bust do they say?
  2. I’d never heard this before, just looked it up 🙂
  3. But, without his goals we could be in a big trouble. The money would have to be used wisely and his goals would have to be replaced(we also need to add to his tally anyway). ~£15 million pounds is great, but I’d rather stay in this league/possibly challange for promotion. If you took away his goals last season I imagine we’d have been relegated?
  4. Going to Everton would be a gamble, Lampard will be sacked before the Autumn and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were in for another relegation battle.
  5. I’m not sure I could listen, I saw a quote earlier and he said “smash it”, I hate that expression nearly as much as the annoying “absolute scenes” expression I see every week on the BBC’s and Sky’s coverage.
  6. I wouldn’t trust Gallagher with a penalty. He’d be worse than Jason Roberts.
  7. They’re drip feeding us, just keeping us alive, not blinking an eye at pissing £20 million away every season, when a little investment could see their ‘baby’ thrive. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better if they just pulled the plug, this stagnation is frustrating. My hopes were raised with the new manager, the talk of money available. I’m hoping to be proven wrong, but it just seems like we keep getting fed bullshit and it’s all talk. This is the perfect time for them to show they actually do want us to progress.
  8. A Blackpool fan I work with reckoned he seemed up it in their friendly the other day, thought it was a sign he wanted to stay. or maybe he was putting himself in the shop window.
  9. Maybe Venky’s fax machine has broken(or they haven’t been arsed to check it), so they haven’t seen the requests for permission to sign Styles and JPVH?
  10. He was very inconsistent, but in game’s that needed a little spark, he could provide it. He didn’t a lot of the time, but started to quite consistently in the good run, before Bournemouth messed with his head. I’ll miss his bursts forward, he had great control. I guess if he was more consistent he’d have never left United. It’ll be interesting to see how he does next season. I’m getting slightly disillusioned at checking this thread every night, I’ve been working a nightshift this week and eagerly load up the forum, when I’ve woken up and got a brew, but I’m still feeling positive overall. The manager has been a breathe of fresh air, I just hope we are doing all we can to give him the calibre of players he needs to carry out his vision. It’s a shame we can’t match a lot of other clubs for money, as I believe a quick chat with Jonny DT would have them on board. King Kenny and Souness style. You know, his management could crash and burn, but right now, I’m optimistic.
  11. I didn’t see the Hartlepool game, but against Celtic I had my heart in my mouth a few times when we played it across our own box. If it actually ends up going forward, then I can cope with it I guess. Under Mowbray, it was pass, pass, pass, HOOF! 😂
  12. Same against Celtic, wasn’t a big fan either.
  13. Maybe Mowbray is Boro’s unofficial talent scout. Hopefully he’ll recommend Pickering 😂
  14. I’ve never had a good opinion of Steve Waggott, but I’m very happy he is engaging with the supporters. It’s also great that we’ve got Glen asking the important questions. This kind of relationship can only be good. Would be even better if we could get Barry and Co. In the same room!
  15. Vale certainly is a decent finisher. Him and Gallagher seem to be linking up well also.
  16. Truly is. Looks like he’s enjoying it! A stark contrast to our previous manager who looked pissed off that he’s had to make the journey in. We can only hope that his passion and enthusiasm is infectious. From what I’ve seen from training I’ve been very impressed. I don’t get the impression that Mowbray took training very seriously and seemed a bit lazy. I’m curious to see if our corners/set pieces get any better, as it was reported in the past that we didn’t work on them in training.
