  1. I've had to point this out a few times this window now, but we only lose Dolan for free if he moves to a foreign club.
  2. Why do you doubt it? It's entirely rational thinking. I'm sure he'd much rather have a decent outfield player who will definitely be needed, than a shit third choice keeper who probably won't and from all accounts isn't any better than the likes of Michalski, who has sat the bench before.
  3. I nearly said this myself, but the squad would already be full. I don't know if the rules allow you to swap one of your players, like an injured goalie, out after the window shuts. Like I said though, we have other youth keepers who don't seem to be any worse.
  4. You still think we will spend £5 million this window?
  5. We won't need Hilton, and even if both goalies were out we have other young keepers who don't appear to be any worse than him. They don't need registering due to their age. I'd be stunned if we weren't happy to loan Hilton out if we need a squad space.
  6. Agree with a lot of your post, but I think your memory failed you on this bit. Hanley was an academy product, and we made millions on him, so any contracts were warranted if that's what you meant. Martin Olsson was also already at the club when Venkys arrived. Marcus Olsson signed the January before relegation for a nominal fee. Orr, Goodwillie, Rochina and Miles 'that tackle' Anderson were all signed in the Prem. Only Murphy, Etuhu and Best were signed using the parachute payments. From the list you gave anyway. I also thought Martin Olsson was pretty much regarded as a successful signing for us. Nominal fee, loads of appearances, dived to win a penalty against Burnley, sold on for for over 2.5 million.
  7. Whilst I don't watch it, clubs in that league have more revenue per club than the Championship. Although they do seem to operate smaller wage budgets, but I think you get worse value for money in the Championship due to the Prem being within reach and players coming down on mega wages. I'd expect it's not much weaker if it's weaker.
  8. The way JRC has played this season if have rather used Duru in that role and work patiently with JRC until he has proper full fitness, which he doesn't seem to have right now. When he isn't fully fit he is terrible. When he is fully fit he's a very useful player. Hasn't had any major injuries this season though I think, and hasn't been played to death like others, you'd think he'd be ready. Perhaps not quite shaking niggles though, and if you train instead of resting sometimes they just don't go away.
  9. In fairness, we made six permanent signings for the first team this summer, plus three loans. January is basically the MLS' summer window.
  10. Barely been tried there, and not at all I believe whilst in his best form lately. But I'm happy to keep him at RB too. A position we don't have tons of quality. Resting him occasionally with an RB sub may have avoided that injury he got and may get again.
  11. Alan Wright was 5 ft 4 mate. According to Wiki, Duru is 5 ft 9.
  12. If anyone is going to remember this, I'd say it's @Tyrone Shoelaces
  13. Hopefully it's a lot fucking better than the Forshaw news
  14. Because one Plymouth reject isn't enough?
  15. If you're waiting for Chaddy to admit he was wrong about something, you'll be waiting a long time. I can't think of one time that's happened.
  16. Dunno if it's not more that they think we are.
  17. Even that spaffing could have resulted in a large profit on BBD and probably only a slight loss on Gallagher if contracts were protected and they were sold at the right time. Goes to show you have to invest (and not dick up the sale point and contracts).
  18. Knowing that will happen, as you clearly do, and with half the first team seemingly injured, it seems appropriate to commence with the doom and gloom. We're in a proper rut and we've all seen this movie before.
  19. Shouldn't have bothered watching this - I might as well have put a replay of the Stoke game on. Practically the same fucking game.
  20. I'd bench him for whoever just to put a rocket up his arse.
  21. It certainly seems like we usually get them during morale-sapping defeats, just to make things even worse.
  22. Can't remember if I posted it, but I said making all the subs with 30+ minutes left was a mistake. And now we have JRC hobbling around, worsening whatever injury he just picked up. Adrenaline is clearly getting him through it, nice ball from him to Gueye there, but I'd be surprised if he's not out for weeks after this.
  23. I did say I wouldn't have sent him out yet. Sanderson will be starting the next few games, we'd better hope he's up to it. Litherland too, who might need to be brought on at some point.
  24. A tug? Hyam slightly touched him, very briefly. He felt a slight touch and went to ground. I'd have been tempted to book him for diving.
